So, I have tried a lot of boba places before and living in Chula Vista it's hard to find one close to home. We usually have to drive to the Convoy area to get great boba. This boba is by far one of my favorite in all of the San Diego area. I always get the Starburst snow bubble with boba in it. The girls here hook it up with the servings and they never disappoint. For those who don't want to read, just order POPCORN CHICKEN and AVOCADO SNOW BUBBLE! For those who want a full story: I came to SD to visit a friend and she took me here. We saw good reviews on Yelp and once again, the Yelp community didn't let us down! I got the popcorn chicken and avocado snow bubble, and she had the regular milk tea--both were delicious! We also got a bunch of discount because it was during their promotional period. :) The decor was really nice. I love the wavy pattern on their wall and the bathroom sink was beyond cool! The staffs were also super friendly; Tommy, the owner, came out and chatted with us--hilarious dude! Apparently he's a UCSD alum, so that's pretty cool, too. All in all, it was a great hangout place...now if only something like this would open in Berkeley. read more

Tap Tap Boba is a nice little boba joint off the 805 in Telegraph Canyon Plaza, but what gives it the score it has now compared to other boba places would be the amount of activities as well as the ambience provided with it. From Connect Four to Chess, to the convenient Ipads molded into the tables, there's actually things to do aside from relaxing and sipping on hot/cold drinks. My friend told me this was the best boba place in San Diego, and of course, I vehemently denied such thing. That's blasphemous! ... Found this place by accident, I was waiting for one my favorite sushi places to open an remembered I needed to pick up a dessert for a dinner we are going to tonight. The store workers were very kind. The boba tea is beyond sweet and I could NOT drink it. I CANNOT stand high sweetness levels and that drink was way too sweet. I had to throw it all away. Atmosphere: Parking is plenty and easy. Tap Tap Boba is brightly lit, clean, and fairly loud. Not a great place to study at like a starbucks or tom n toms~ Service: The barista was super nice and explained the menu very well. We were welcomed with a hello and a thank you when we left. Food: The drinks here are solid. I had the cantaloupe snow with boba and it was tasty. Unlike most places, the cantaloupe here wasn't powdery and was very smooth. The boba too, was boiled for the right amount of time. Like it wasn't so soft that the boba felt like jelly, and it wasn't so hard that it felt like old gum. It was what boba was supposed to be; soft on the outside and a little chewy on the inside. I understand that it's hit or miss for boba at a lot of places, but this place was a nice change of pace from the bad boba i've been getting lately. I had high hopes for this place, but their just not up to the standards of my taste buds. The first time I came here, I ordered their oolong milk tea and the second time, I ordered a jasmine milk tea. They both tasted the same: bland. Straight up tasted like tea and milk, and I guess that's how some people like their milk teas. Personally, I've found this to be a common taste between Chinese/Cantonese owned boba places. It's not my personal favorite. They also had mentioned their first time that they were still working on getting some pudding on their menu, but after visiting again two weeks later, I have yet to see it on their menu. Also, be cautious with some of the reviews. They offer a free upgrade to a large drink for simply giving them a 5-star review. And most people will do anything to get the free upgrade. read more

This used to be called Tap Tap Boba. Their menu is pretty similar to their old one, except they give clear boba instead of the brown/black one-supposedly it's less calories. I think their drinks are pretty decent, worth a try if you're in the area. read more
