I have also followed him to his own shop but he does not consider anybody's appointment time seriously is very rude and he will ignore you he can be nice and he can be friendly. I chose Vanity Nails because of the great reviews on Yelp. I am very discrimating how I spend my hard earned money. On my first visit, a male Nail Tech did my nails. I believe his name was Sam, but I'm not 100% sure. I know he wore a boar's tooth around his neck. Anyway, I was very pleased with his work. Returned for a second time, 'Sam' was gone and and older woman did my nails. She was very nice, but doing nails was clearly not her talent. Halfway through the procedure, Paul, (the owner) came to the rescue. He did a great job and I was very pleased. On my next visit, I made an appointment with Paul for a fill and a pedicure. When I got there. Paul was busy and another male tech, (not sure, but I think his name was Henry) started my pedicure. He did a good job on my toes, so I decided to let him do my fill. He did his best, but when I got home, my nails were snagging on everything. Being the glutton for punishment, I decided to give them another chance today. I called and made an appointment with Paul. I asked about Henry, and was told he too was gone. I told Paul about my last experience and he didn't seem in the least bit interested. He became very argumentative and began telling me my nails are old and I needed new ones. Mind you, I don't wear tips. I use acrylic overlays. I have no problem removing my set and starting over, but today, I really didn't appreciate Paul's tone or demeanor. I asked him if he was stressed, because the high rate of employee turnover would be enough to stress anybody out. Trust me, I understand. However, a business owner, must never take their frustrations out on paying customers. Long story short, he did my fill, I paid and left........... never to return again. I try to be fair in my reviews, regardless of my feelings. I believe Paul does great nails, however, his customer service skills leave much, much to be desired. I refuse to support an establishment where I feel under appreciated. Sadly. He just lost a customer. Though I doubt he'll care. I wish Vanity Nails the best of luck. read more

My 1st visit in this shop was with a male and he did a great job but he was not there. Not Paul. I went in last week for a fill. I was helped by a woman. She left my nails very thin, and I knew they weren't gonna last. Sure enough 2 broken nails within 1 week. I honestly have not broke any nails previously. I made an appt. today which I thought was with Paul. He said it wasn't. I expressed my concern on the poor work done previously. He didn't seem to care. If I could give them a no star it wouldn't be because of the poor work that they did on my nails but on the nasty attitude that Paul has. I just move from L.A to Palmdale and I have been trying out and looking for a good nail shop. I thought I had found it when I first got my nails done by Paul. The first time I was there he didn't do much talking which I'm okay with that but I did notice that he kind of had an attitude problem by the way he was talking to customer that were walking in asking he questions. I've been to this place a few times because so far this was the only shop I actually liked how my nails looked. The last time that I was there I took my mom with me so she could get her nails done by Paul. My mom has arthritis in both of her hands (fingers). After a few minutes my mom called me over and asked me to please tell Paul if he could be more gently with her fingers because he was grabbing her fingers really tight. It seemed like she had said something to him earlier but apparently didn't understand my moms English or something. I asked him to please be as gentle as he could with my moms fingers, answered me with an attitude YES I ALREADY KNOW THAT!!! My mom asked had asked him a question if he could help her look for another color that would go with the one she had picked out already. He told her that he didn't know and to quickly pick a color out, as my mom and I were looking for a second color. He got up to grab a nail polish from the wall that's right behind him, it seemed like he just picked out any color, he didn't even bothered to ask my mom if she liked it or not. My mom didn't like the way Paul did her nails, I did noticed that he's nice and friendly with his regular customer. I wouldn't recommend you getting your nails done by Paul and if you do so be ready to get some attitude from him. Paul needs to definitely work on that nasty and rude attitude that he has and learns how to provide the customer service that he provides to his favorite customers. I'm never ever going back to this place where you get an attitude from Paul. I almost forgot to mention that Hanna messed up one of my eyebrows, one super than the other one. read more

I was recommended to come here by a few people so I decided to come in. I had made an appointment at 2:30 and wasn't seen till 3:35. But I understood there's only 2 people who do full sets so I let that go. When I finally got up to my turn everything was fine the lady was nice but for some reason the acrylic glue started to really burn my fingers and I now have small blisters. She didn't even put the powder completely on a couple of nails. I've also noticed that she filed the sides of my nails too thin and now every time I bump the sides of my nail it hurts so bad and my skin looks raw. I started going here when they first opened and I fell in love with the service it was amazing, Paul is highly recommended so I started booking appointments with him. He became very rough and rude after my 5th time going there. They're constantly turning people away and hour before closing. They're rude. This review is from my visit, two days ago. I visited this salon due to the high number of reviews here....I unfortunately wasn't impressed. I made an appt. for a nail overlay (I'm growing mine out) and a pedicure. My nail tech, Sandra seated me immediately, and asked what I wanted. As she took out her tools and began, i noticed they were dusty/in need of a good cleaning. I didn't say anything, and she began to use the dremel tool to sand my nails down, running over my cuticles on all ten nails. It hurt, but I'm not a whiner/complainer, so again, I didn't say anything. Eventually, due to her carelessness, she cut me. Immediately, instead of apologizing, she said, "Oh! It's because you moved." (I didn't). As I began bleeding, she RUBS HER OWN FINGERS over the blood to wipe/clean it off. Very unsanitary, and potentially unsafe regarding bodily fluids. I know I don't have anything, but she didn't! A nail salon should know better than that. We continue with the service, all the while, with her randomly staring at me here and there. I don't know if she was trying to size me up or what, but it was weird. After the overlay was done, she roughly pushed my cuticles down (using her own nails) on all sides, then painted me. The polish was erratic- she began on two fingers, then pushed them under the uv lamp, and reached for the other hand, then did the same on the other. She continued this way until all ten were done. As a result, I have two coats on some nails, and three on others, causing unevenness. I also have a sizeable gap between the color and my cuticles. As stated previously, I -just- got my nails done, and they look a week old already; including crusty cuticles, since those were also overlooked. My pedicure was great, in contrast. The woman that took me was a younger, pretty lady, very sweet/demure. She constantly checked in on me to make sure things were good. A+ for that. I asked her name, but unfortunately forgot. Once my services were done, I actually inquired about making my next appointment for two weeks. Instead of taking a minute to do that, Paul (the owner) handed me a card and told me "To just call two days before.", barely looking up from the new client in the chair...that's ok, because I won't be back. read more

I've been going to this nail salon for so long and I was always happy with my pedicures ! But this time I am not ! I'm sorry but I won't ever be going back to this nail salon, before they closed I went in to get a pedicure and I got regular nail polish it's been three weeks later and my big toe nail was hurting through out these weeks. I took of my nail polish to only find out I now have fungus on my toenail and on my pink. I never had to deal with fungus ever this is new to my toe nails. I am very upset and my toe nails no longer look flattering. I will not return to this nail salon again. read more

I love this place and have been coming for over a year now but only with Paul because he always does an amazing job. I went yesterday to get a full set and Paul wasn't there that day so I had to get another nail tech (#4). I wanted Disney themed nails like the ones pictures there but I got a mess instead. The designs looked like a kid did them and they were $10 EXTRA for crappy designs. Not to mention the gel polish got on my skin and stuck onto it and hurt. You can see how messy they were painted, I left unhappy but not wanting to be there anymore so I just thought I could fix it myself but by the next day they were chipping so I went again today to get them redone because I did not pay $45 to have messy nails. They wanted to charge me to fix them because they had to redo the whole polish but they should've done them perfect in the first place. I got them fixed they're okay now I guess but I will for sure just wait for Paul he is the best and if you want great nails wait for Paul he is worth the wait! read more
