I have been dealing with a pinched nerve and bulging disc in my back for the past 3+ years. I have found that chiropractic care is far better than many medical remedies. So when I got out here for my 10 day vacation and started having back pain again, I immediately looked for a chiropractor. I asked my friend who lived here for a recommendation, and they referred me to Streiter and Amy. Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover chiropractic out of the area, so I had to pay for it out of pocket, but even still that didn't break the bank. Monica, the receptionist was very friendly and gave me all the information I needed to know, and then some before I even came in for my first appointment. Both Streiter and Amy are very friendly, quick, and professional. And, they actually care about their patients. I was in and out within 10 minutes of each visit. Vacation saved! I was a walk in hoping to find some relief for a "pinched nerve" or whatever it was that was killing my neck and upper back, shoulders since arriving in Maui 2 days earlier. Might have been the plane ride, slept wrong, whatever, but I was in real pain. First time ever visiting a Chiropractor. The staff was friendly, the Dr's concerned and professional. Did man adjustment after exam, and recommended a therapeutic massage, which I did. It was terrific. No nonsense manipulation and targeting. Definitely not a spa massage. After, another adjustment that couldn't be completed earlier because I was so tight. Wow is all I can say. My pain diminished immediately and was completely gone within an hour of my appointment. Thanks very much to Gail at VanQuaethem and introduced Dr. Penny to come in time visiting me at my hotel room after I had a lower back injury in my room preventing me from moving around, I was demobilized while Dr. Penny had come in time to relocate my back with pinched nerves. She's very professional, patient with me and had giving me a full body aliment that fixed my lower back. It took me a day to recovered and I was able to walk normally the next day. Dr. Amy saved our family vacation to Maui!! My 11 year old sons neck was killing him when we got to Maui Sunday evening. We showed up first thing Monday morning (without an appointment) to VanQuaethem Chiropractic. We were warmly greeted and assured my son would be seen shortly. I have a chiropractor that I have been using the the SF Bay Area for 25 years and was on vacation and had lower back pain (shoveling too much snow at Tahoe a few days before we headed over here). Called Dr Amy's office and was able to get in at the end of the day. She is really personable and wants to get to know her patients. Her adjustments used a little different techniques than my chiropractor at home, but the results were the same - no pain the next day and the rest of our trip was pain free.
