Breanna and Irene both provided us with the best customer service we have ever received anywhere. They were both outgoing and attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our shopping experience was a positive one. My family and I actually had fun shopping in this store. The selection is vast with numerous styles and colors of shoes, tennis shoes, clothing, and accessories. We ended up purchasing eight pairs of shoes, clothing, and other items because the prices were very affordable and the merchandise is made of high-quality materials. Horrible experience. My six year old daughter was in desperate need of the restroom, to the point of needing to sit down to keep from wetting herself. I repeatedly pleaded with staff to let her use the restroom as they looked for my order seeing how they had zero sense of urgency. In the end we left with no order and without having let my 6 year old use the restroom. read more

The store is nice. Small but neat & clean. I was able to quickly find what I was looking for. But I'm leaving a low score because I'm off put by the cashier. It's state law that a gift card with less than $10 can be exchanged for the remaining change. I hate when businesses lie to their customers to get them to spend more. I'm really disappointed & won't go to this store again. I'll probably be taking a break from Vans altogether too. read more

I came into the store to do a size exchange. The item was still brand new with tags attached. I brought in the gift receipt and original form of tender. I had the gift receipt as this was purchased as a gift and I didn't think the receipt would matter since I had the card I originally purchased it with. The sweater was originally purchased for $59.95 and it is now online for $39.95. I asked Felipe if he could price match the new sweater to the Vans website price of $39.95. He explained he could not because I did not have the original receipt and it did not say the original price. However on the exchange receipt I was given it clearly showed the original price of $59.95. I asked if I could return the original purchase and simply buy the new one price matched at the website price and he said no because my receipt did not show the original price. I worked in retail for five years as a Department Manager, that is an extremely ridiculous excuse. It's disappointing to know Vans associates would offer horrible customer service over $20. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

MAN, I NEED VANS! Remember that old tag line? I always wore Vans...from about 4th grade on. I had the slip ons, two toned, custom colors. I was COOL! Now my little man is cool. I get him the skateboard shoes with velcro because they are easy on and off a two year old. His daddy has a pair and the two of them are like twins. It's pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself. The girls who work here are very nice, very helpful, good with kids. They measured little man's feet and suggested two types of shoes. But we stuck with the old standby. Good shoe selection, I called to ask if a certain shoe design was available and they had the box set aside for when I arrived without even having to ask! Vans isn't my normal store to go to for shoes, but my brother really wanted some casual shoes for school and his first choice was Vans. On first appearances, it does seem odd to have a shoe store not in a retail area. However, this Vans store is flourishing. This store is well kept and they have amazing customer service. Maddie helped my brother find a shoe in his size. My brother wears a size 14. So, Maddie literally brings out every shoe in his size. It was really nice of her to do. We had some one always asking if we needed help. The team was just so friendly. I would definitely come back again. I even saw some shoes for me, too! read more

I dread going to the mall unless I absolutely need to, so finding this stand alone Vans store in Alhambra was perfect. It has its own parking lot, decent store hours, and a well-kept retail display! The employees here are awesome and make shopping in-person far superior to online shopping. They are very knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you're looking for. Even if you're indecisive like me, they'll talk you through your options to narrow down your choices before you make a purchase. Plus, they can probably lace up shoes faster than you...I can attest to this because we raced and I definitely lost lol. Worth a visit if you're hoping to add new Vans to your wardrobe! read more

The best customer service everrrrrr! I hadn't been inside this Vans store since I was a kid but since my kid needed shoes I decided to stop by. The ladies that worked here were super helpful, super pleasant, and just genuinely wanted to help out, something that most stores lack in the customer service dept. Between myself, my mother and my nina, we ended up buying three pairs of shoes (one for me, two for my daughter) and a pair of sunglasses. I'm sorry but this place has awful parking. You'll be lucky if you can park in front but pray you don't get hit by a fast moving car. I wanted some cool slip-on shoes, and I knew Vans would be the place. To be honest, I haven't worn Vans since the 90s. That's OK. Style is cyclical, right? I went to the Vans store on Garfield because it's the closest to my house. When I arrived on Sunday afternoon, it was really busy. However, I received great customer service from a friendly salesperson named Travis. He came right over to me and offered his assistance. He was patient with me while I tried on multiple sizes, even as he helped other customers. What amazed me was his memory; he expertly juggled requests for multiple shoe sizes and styles. He never made a mistake and always had a smile on his face! A seriously valuable employee. To make things even sweeter, the store was having a sale. I was able to get new shoes, shorts, and a plaid collared shirt for about $90 out the door. Seemed like a good deal to me! It's not a van's outlet, it's an actual retail store. It's a great store, you get your usual selection of Van's, including their authentics and Off the Wall and some of their collabs at this store. The beauty of this store is that it's a stand alone, it's not in a crowded mall with tons and tons of people. Van's. Is there no better shoe to skateboard in? I love my Chuck Taylors, but I just love being taken back to my younger days when I wore my Vans and thought I was such a punk skateboarding. Now I'm no Tony Hawk, and really, my skate idols growing up were more in line to Jason Lee and Jay Adams. So my skating tricks consist of basic kickflips, slides and grinds. I didn't do anything "eXXXXXtreme", what I did do, I couldn't do without my shoes. Now let me tell you a thing or two about my shoes. I like to wear them down to the point that there's no sole under my foot. I wear shoes out because they're like lucky charms to me. Either that or I'm completely lazy when it comes to buying shoes. So coming to this Vans store was something I tried to put off for as long as possible.Oh yeah, I'm doing a review of this place, aren't I? Now that I'm older and not a mall rat, I try to avoid the mall and the crowds, this Vans store helps in spades with that. Not only does it have its own parking and is conveniently close by, but it also has a great selection, great service and good prices. You get what you're looking for, if it be a shoe that you can go out on the town with or if it's just one you're going to wear till there's nothing but a thin layer of sole left and torn apart at the seams. Went to get the new Beatles Vans Era that was just released. They were giving away a free Beatles mug with it! The Sales Associate Amy is an excellent customer oriented person. This location has a parking lot right next to it, so you don't have to park on the busy Garfield street. Location looks well stocked for Vans clothing, shoes, hats, and accessories. I've come here twice and both times they were understanding with exchanges I had & they were also patient and let me decide on what I wanted, even though I had come after work, shortly before they were closing (yikes). I've been to the Arcadia & Monterey Park stores in addition to this store and this one is the best in my opinion. Last night when I came Travis helped me & was very nice. When I visited a few weeks ago, Jessy helped me and she was nice, too. It seems like all their employees are helpful anyway, but I am just thankful for the good vibes and great experience I had both times I came here & I can wait to return (they have some great Summer sales going on right now). read more

An OG stand alone Vans store just as it's always been. And it's well stocked with shoes and skate(r) related fashion and accessories. Staff is helpful and easy going. As said in others reviews, parking is at a premium in front and behind the store. So if the store is busy I would suggest parking around the corner or even down the street a bit. It's a fast moving street and better to be safe then hold up traffic waiting on someone to pull out of the parking lot, or a space out front. But sure, nice well run store, this Vans shop. read more

Amazing ! Came to pick up shoes for the day quick great service. Would always come here growing up, the staff here are very honest. Going about my day at my car and the cashier comes up to me and returned money that I dropped. Had no idea I dropped money was in a bit of a rush . So I told him to keep it because of his honesty. I had a serious problem involving a recent promotion and incorrect information given by an employee and his supervisor, long story short and after experiencing a very unpleasant experience, the District Manager John really came through and rectified the error entirely! He more than made up for it and proved my 20+ yrs of loyalty to Vans and this particular store was well placed indeed. Will continue to shop here indefinitely. read more

Upon walking in was greeted so I asked where kids shoes were and the guy who welcomed me started talking to somebody else, like mid sentence... found the kids shoes by myself, asked for a size and they didn't have it so she brought me the next size up.. like I appreciate it but what am I supposed to do? I obviously can't try them on, I'm not gonna give the wrong size shoes as a gift.. anyway, I get that it's always dead at this location but this girl is desperately striking up conversations with anyone who walks in.. and not even trying to be helpful like she's over here giving fun facts or relating her life to what we're looking at.. even at the register she was talking nonstop about herself which made this 2 people line take so long.. LOVE this store........... all my visits here have been great, the last visit last week was the only one i was a little disappointed. I know it's no big deal; but as my son and I walked in we were not acknowledged one bit - we didn't get a hi, welcome or a I'll be with you in a moment. but once the 2nd girl from the back came to my rescue; she made up for it. I grew up in Alhambra and my dad would bring us shopping to this VANS store. My kids only wear VANS so instead of going to the mall i'll bring them here. If you are thinking of using the custom design feature for shoes, be prepared to be frustrated. They have a policy in place that prevents using copyrighted materials, stock photography or logos ... OK, however their system for checking images just looks for images that are "like" something that can be found on the internet - not an exact match. 2 out of 4 orders that I placed for Christmas were rejected because of this. They were my images. After waiting for customer service to pick for 1/2 hour (twice), They wouldn't / couldn't show the image they found on line that caused mine to be rejected. Their only response was that I had to fill out a form which they were going to email to me showing that I did indeed own the image. The review process was supposed to take a week. They never emailed the form. I have followed up by email multiple times with no response. I don't want to spend anymore time waiting for customer service to pick up and do nothing. It is a great idea, but horrible execution. read more
