Van's Nails is a wonderful place to have you nails done. Van the owner did my Gel nails and a very nice man did my pedicure. I had a gift certificate from 2019 and because of Covid I wasn't able to use it. Van honored it. This is a great business person for honoring my gift certificate. I had been there several other times but Van was never there and I was told it was too old. I'm glad I waited to speak to Van in person. I tried to give her a 30.00 tip but she wouldn't take it. Unfortunately, not a good experience. My GodSister comes here to see a specific person who ended up being busy - even with an appointment made the day before. The Technician who serviced me did not follow instructions & basically went rogue on my hands & feet...thank goodness I opted not to do Gel. She refused to be receptive to my preferences & would speak in her native language with a nasty tone towards/about me, not a good engagement at all. Plus her polishing was rushed & looked like a Kindergarten used my nails as a canvas. The line of polishes is limited & for a "special" Pedi which equates to a scrub & a basic mani ran me $70. If you have Gel on your hands & feet you'll be charged $10 for taking it off. Aside from eyebrow waxing, not sure why the word Spa is visible. My mom showed her the nail type she wanted it was SQUARE TAPERED the OWNER told her it was coffin shape even tho that was far from that, and told my mom her fingers were "too wide" for what she had wanted. In my opinion you can't do the job of what the customer is asking for just say that, but no she didn't , she wanted her money which is understandable to a POINT . What I asked for and what I got... a basic white "coffin" set. Each person kinda has there own thing here. There is the ones who do pedicures and the one lady who does acrylics. Seems like each nail has a different size and shape. These are 2 weeks in, already lifting She didn't cut or oil my cuticles just put a drill on them which cut me. This was a very painful set. She doesn't do soak offs either... ripped my previous ones off with string and damaged my nail beds. Charged me $80 and had the nerve to want to keep the $20 change as a tip out of my $100 "do u want to give me the rest for a tip" I always tip but don't assume and ask for it yanno? My fingers were burning the whole time and ended up with blisters from the acrylic getting on my skin and gone over harshly with the file, she even admitted to using a used file on me because "it was worn out" and had to change it... paying for a $80 service and can't even get a clean $1 file. read more

Came here on a whim because it was a last min thing that I wanted to get my nails done. I called and she let me know there was no wait. I went in and I was immediately seated I was asked what kind of service I wanted and I let her know I wanted a full set. Showed them a reference pic and she agreed she could do it. A simple french, the prep was fast no cuticle cleaning however. She started and let me know that she was would use a colored acrylic, didn't let me know it was up charge otherwise I would have said no thank you. I got a simple french with medium length full set and it was $70! That is ridiculous not to mention the lady was rude towards the end sped through it and I still tipped her. The french is not perfect, looks like white marbling from how they clean the french tip white is still on my nail. My nails are different lengths on both hands like one is set is longer than the other. Proceed with caution!!! Ask for pricing before you sit down or if they suggest something. read more

I always come here. I get my nails done once a month! My nails never lift or break unless I do something that causes them to break. The owner always does my nails she is so kind and always gets me taken care of. I do wish the shape of my nails was sexier, but other than that she does great quality work. The owner was completely rude to my mom, brother, and I when we went their to get a mani/pedi for my brother's wedding. We told her we were in a rush and she still deliberately made us wait. We would have gone elsewhere if she had just told us the actual wait time would be an hour. She said we would only have to wait 10 minutes. My brother finally had to leave and she still continued to yell that it shouldn't take long giving him attitude about having to go. They then left my mom sitting in a pedi chair with no technician for about 30 minutes. I have been a loyal customer there for about 9 years: however This was a final straw after many negative experiences I have had there and I will never go there again and either will my mom. If I could give zero stars I would. They are rude and do not listen. I went in for a pedicure with my twin 5 year old daughters. I asked for a basic pedi for kids and they did not listen they did a gel polish on toes with a foil on the big toe of many flowers. I asked for a small nail design painted one daughter wanted a heart and the other wanted a flower. They both got a patterned foil. They cut both my daughters. There was polish all over the skin still for all three of us, my toenails are crooked. They put me and one daughter together and put my other daughter 5 seats away when we were the only ones getting pedicures. The service was subpar I would steer clear of here. read more

This is the very Worst Pedicure that I have ever had in my entire life! I chose the special pedicure that was supposed to be $50. And so she tells me when I'm checking out it is 53.00. Then I knew that I had such a terrible job that I said a $3.00 tip and then she rang up a $5.00 tip! There was No feet scrubbing done, no cuticle management done, no cuticle softener, done young boy did my pedicure that obviously had NO Experience at all. I understand that these business owners want to make money and bring clients in but when you're called and specifically asked to make an appointment time and then you show up and have to wait 40 minutes before your service is even being started after sitting in cold water is unacceptable. It can hurt from to much filing, they can leave bubbles in your nails, and they can file them square when you want them round.. What can you do about it? Nothing.. Today isn't my day for for a mani ... This place is THE worst place ever in PHX for a mani ... Like. EVER. Ended up here on a whim. I have had the worst luck in PHX for finding manis that last.. work.. and don't chip after a few days. JUST when I think I find one.. Some failure hits. We just were driving, my friend and I on a Friday and ended up here. No rhyme. No reason. That is probably the reason that it all went down in a big.fat.fail. The lady I got on first notice was completely rude. I should have in hindsight.. just said.NO.Thanks. But no. I am always the optimist for a good ending. I also always think it maybe me.. AM I doing something to offend her? My face? MY look? Zip it in Kimberly, I tell myself. So she starts to take off my gel.. says something in her language to herself and walks off. She is gone for a good 7-10 minutes. I am seriously on a time crunch on this day. I don't have time for her to just leave me half gell'ed! When she returns she tells me that my acrylics under the gel are a 'mess'.. though they aren't. I have had my short acrylics (I use only to protect my base nail from breakage on planes) for awhile.. I know when a new set is needed due to lifting or cracking or whatever and when I don't . I tell her I just want a fill. Simple. Just a fill and gel french manicure. Please. Thank You. She gets up and leaves yet again! This time for another 7-10 minutes. I am seriously so confused. My friend has opted to just get a new set of nails but hers are in seriously bad shape. She is almost done and her mani is more involved than mine! My lady returns. Now I tell her I am in a time crunch. She snappily replies that 'I am making it hard for her because my nails are 'bad'.. '.. I have no idea what she is talking about! She made me feel like Honey Boo Boo's mom! Cmon!! 30 minutes later now I have my nails done.. but I notice that one nail is badly mangled.. she has slapped on white polish on the end and failed to file it down. It's just awful. I think if I should say anything. BUT then I think, 'I have to.. this is my $$'.. I tell her.. and she huffs.. leaves YET again.. 5-7 minutes.. and comes back.. files it down.. with 2 more I point out. I still leave with a awful, unfiled looking rough french manicure.. for the cool cost of $28 .. fill.. gel .. french. manners not included. Today I have a hang nail and its been since last Friday.
