This physical therapy facility provides great service. The staff are great listeners and very knowledgeable of their practices. I highly reccomend Devon as your physical therapist but I am sure they are all excellent here. After having shoulder surgery I needed physical therapy. My UCLA doctor recommended Vargo, and I am so glad. Everyone who works there is so knowledgeable and helpful, and friendly!!! I really appreciated the kindness from helpers and therapists at this location but unfortunately, they had no experience with my type of shoulder surgery and physical rehabilitation. After 9 appointments with Vargo, I was left with a frozen shoulder. The therapist working with me told me they don't teach anything about latarjet surgery rehabilitation in school anymore. When my doctors office called initially they said they did have experience with latarjet so I just wish they would have been more honest from the start so I didn't have to succumb to adhesive capsulitis while still trying to recover. read more

Very disappointed! I had a shoulder issue that needed PT and wanted to support our local business. I was willing to do the work, but was disappointed in the care I received at Vargo PT. My disappointment was a two fold: 1.) given instructions on particular exercises, no one would watch over to make sure you are doing it right so you don not cause other issues; 2.) when done with a given, I had to wait around until someone decided to come over to give the next exercise instruction. After going 3 times with the hopes that their attention to the patient will improve, I decided to take my business elsewhere since their focus was not on their work but rather what was going on with their life. The owner, took the time to call me asking to give them another chance since he had not worked on me; but why? I gave the facility 3 chances already. Should a business not do their due diligence from the start? In my humble opinion, this location failed this town and their profession. read more

While I admit this is my first experience with physical therapy, I am compelled to note that I was seriously discussing total hip replacement surgery a month ago, but now that is the furthest thing from my mind. Thank you James! I live in San Luis Obispo and have had ongoing problems with my shoulder/arm for about four years now. I have been to SCOI in TO, have been to an outstanding Chiropractor (Dr. Ed Green) and while I have had some small success it wasn't until I really had problems and saw James that I saw the reality of my problem and a real viable solution. My best friend who lives in Moorpark and goes to Vargo made an appointment for me upon a trip down several months ago. ( I moved to SLO a year/half ago). James was extremely thorough, helpful, kind and made me feel comfortable while explaining things to me (and his dog is A-dorable!). He set-up a series of exercises/stretches to do and take home with me with the express understanding that I really need to get a PT at home and get massage, etc. Within a couple weeks of doing the prescribed exercises I had immediate relief and continue to do the exercises. I wish to the heavens I could see James regularly but I live 2.5 hours and 130 miles away. I finally today signed up with a group where I live but if it weren't for my best friend arranging my appointment with James I would have just continued on suffering until I helped myself. I realize now, as James said, that I have to be consistent to see improvements. When I do my therapy I am good, when I don't - I don't achieve long term healing. I am grateful to him for his expertise and candid advice. My BF has nothing but outstanding things to say about James and the other staff at Vargo. Five weeks ago, I had a full knee replacement and have completed five physical therapy sessions at the Vargo in Moorpark. I could not be happier with the expertise and care I receive from the staff at the Moorpark location. James, Katie, Erin, Luke, Bobby, and other staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful when explaining the exercises. They provide positive encouragement and help me to push myself just the right amount to feel successful with my therapy. As an example, on my second time using the therapy cycle, the object was to pedal forward as far as possible and then reverse and pedal backward as far as possible. I heard Katie (one of the PT's) say "You can do it, Jenny", which was all I needed to push a little harder - to my surprise I made a full rotation! The following visit I was pedaling for three minutes on the cycle. At my last session (5th visit), my knee was at a 115-degree bend (two weeks after surgery it was at 70 degrees). Anyone familiar with knee surgery knows how painful it is to "bend" a stiff or inflamed knee, but how necessary it is to regain full range of motion and to resume normal activities. I owe my progression to James and the team at Vargo, for their care and encouragement at the center and reminders to do exercises at home in between sessions. I will continue to drive the hour 2x a week for my physical therapy and look forward to working with the staff at Vargo PT in Moorpark. read more

The therapists here are very nice, and seem to know what they are doing. I did have an issue with their TV watching habit. They have tv's up on the wall all around the room, and, especially if there is a sports game on, they sometimes stand around watching tv instead of working. They would be walking towards a client, notice something happening on tv, and stop in their tracks to watch it. Once it took me two hours to get my therapy done and get out of there. This can be exasperating when you have put in a full workday and you just want to get your therapy done and get home. That being said, they did help me get better, and they are kind and caring. read more

There are several choices of physical therapy in Moorpark. This place had come recommended by neighbors so i chose it. What a fabulous selection. They are a true team of interacting and trading places, not missing a step, each taking over with their own expertise.
