I am attending an Indian wedding and wanted to get an authentic Lehenga. I went to several places in Berkeley that had cheap quality fabrics and zero help from the sales staff. Today, I went into Varsha Patel in Dublin. Neera Dhir could not have been sweeter, more helpful or patient! Neeru was amazing in helping me find exactly what I needed to wear to a wedding and expedited the alterations for me since I came in on short notice. I was extremely pleased that she was helping me discount items so that it fell within my budget. I have to say this place is really amazing. As a non Indian costumer it's always hard for me to know if I'm buying the right dress for the right events. Everytime I come here they are always very helpful. They helped me pick out the perfect shoes, bangles and earrings for the dress I had. The price was very decent as well. Varsha Patel has been operating during SIP selling masks alongside other Indian clothes and accessories (although her store in Dublin is covered with brown paper on the outside indicating they are closed). I bought 4 kN95 masks from Varsha and paid $15/each and highly regret it. Not only are the masks cheap quality (most likely imported from China), they do not fully cover and expose the bottom of my face completely. Not to mention expensive ! I feel cheated and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

It was really nice to know there is one more high fashionable indian clothing store in bay area. I went there the other day to find my fitting blouse for my friend's wedding and Varsha helped me to match color of blouse for my lehenga. After visiting several overcrowded, unorganized stores with pushy staff in Berkeley and Fremont, it was like a breath of fresh air to enter this clean, airy, and inviting space. The store has great selections for Desi jewelry and clothes for all ages/genders, it's open every day, and the staff is very helpful without being overly aggressive. The prices are reasonable even to begin with, and they can work with you for discounts depending on volume, and help with tailoring and alterations as well. I have never worn traditional Indian clothing before so he really helped me understand the different styles, fit and colors. She has everything: sarees, suits, lenghas, men and children clothing, and all the accessories you need.There's an in-house tailor that will be able to make the quick fixes if necessary. I went to Varsha Patel's boutique store to buy one saree for a reception. And walked out buying two! The wonderful Neeru helped me select the sarees. She tried to gauge my taste and style and found two gorgeous sarees for me. Varsha draped the sarees on herself and then on me so that I could see how they looked on me. She then measured me for blouses to be custom stitched in the store. I am more than satisfied with quality of outfits and accessories in the store and the service is just awesome.
