So delicious and celebrating 99 years of service! The process is a bit confusing: order pizza by the front, everything else (wings, sandwiches, drinks, etc.) at the back. Dirt cheap for this day and age. I had a slice of pepperoni, a slice of sausage, and a slice of mushroom - fantastic! Also had 5 wings. They only come in one flavor which is medium heat and a sweet BBQ which was good. Communal style dining tables!

Varsity has something for everyone! Burgers, pizza, sandwiches and salads. You order, pay and sit. Lots of large tables for seating. Order pizza in the front area...and the rest in the back area. We had the burger, Hobo sandwich and pizza. All good. Pizza is not like NYC pizza but it's good. Staff was great!

Varsity is one of the most well known places in the Marshall Street area to grab a bite. They've been around for a long time. When I was a student at the CUSE, Varsity was a common meet-up place. A decade-plus later, and that's still the case. Up from the City for a CUSE football game (v. UCONN), I stoped in for a quick bite, having chicken wings and pizza; the two dishes that kind of made Varsity famous. The chicken wings were excellent, and as crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside as they've ever been. The BBQ sauce they use is very good, with a little bit of a tangy punch. So delicious! The pepperoni slice was very good, also, with the perfect tomato sauce and cheese balance. Even though I've pretty much had nearly everything on the menu, those two Varsity classics remain my favorites. The next time you're on the way to the Dome, or just going through campus, you should stop in at Varsity. It's a part of SU culture and I'm sure you'll enjoy the great food and nice people.

As a seasoned patron of Varsity, I've come to anticipate the consistently fresh and flavorful pizza slices that have become a staple of my casual dining experiences with friends. The establishment's commitment to quality is evident in each visit, ensuring that every slice served is a testament to their culinary dedication. Adjacent to the bustling pizzeria section lies the deli, a treasure trove of wraps, sandwiches, and an array of diverse offerings. Among these, the Garden Burger stands out as a frequent choice of mine. Accompanied traditionally by chips and a pickle, I prefer to enhance the meal with a side of fries, which adds a satisfying crunch and a perfect balance to the burger's wholesome ingredients. The Garden Burger itself is a vegetarian delight, featuring a hearty veggie patty, ripe tomatoes, and crisp lettuce, with the option to add a slice of cheese for an extra layer of flavor. The ambiance of Varsity resonates with a vibrant sports and athletics theme, contributing to the dynamic and spirited atmosphere that makes each visit memorable. It's this unique combination of high-quality, fresh food and the energetic environment that keeps me returning, eager to discover what culinary delights await me on my next visit. Whether it's the allure of the pizza or the robust offerings of the deli, Varsity remains a fixture in my dining repertoire, a place where taste and tradition converge in a symphony of flavors. Indeed, it's more than just a meal; it's an experience that celebrates the joy of good food and good company. The service is always friendly.

Really miss the old days here. Great food, great people, and the dining area is so America!!! Every time I walked in there I always yell "Mericaaaaa!!!" Love it so mush!

I was traveling with my Mom to Lake Placid & stopped at Syracuse University to meet up with her best friend & old collage roommate. Her roommate said this was the best & most well known restaurant in town & she wasn't kidding! This place has TONS of seating & incredible food options! It was warm & welcoming with just a bit of vintage collage feel complete with the Letter Jacket & all! We ordered a pizza for the table of mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, garlic, & feta. It was hands down the best pizza I've ever eaten! The staff were also incredibly welcoming & very friendly! If your ever in the neighborhood of Syracuse University you NEED to eat here! This would absolutely be a homecoming favorite! Cheers!

Love Varsity's! I've been coming here for years! And, it's my favorite place to get pizza in the area! Their chicken sandwiches are also amazing!! I highly recommend this place! The employees are all super friendly, too!

Pretty solid place for some variety of food. They do everything from pizza to burgers and breakfast with egg sandwiches and such in the morning. It's very reasonably priced. It's not fine dining but it is definitely probably a good little college hotspot.

I might give you a pizza my mind about this place. But I'm a long way from Syracuse now. It's not a near city for me. It's a farcity. It's been awhile since I tried this pretty decent College Pizza, which is open late but has been closing early randomly on some of the nights upon which I happened to be in Syracuse lately. I still enjoyed it and it's better than your average late night pizza, marginally. I'd have given it 3 if it had regular hours, but it scores 4 for being open so late.

HAVE AGAIN: the Varsity Special with double cheese was a staple for friends and me while in forestry grad school over 40 years ago. Just had it again and it is still delicious!

Was not expecting much with this presentation (and the tongs) but was pleasantly surprised!

I can't believe I'm going to say this (as a proud New Jerseyan no less) but...I liked this pizza! Ok, hear me out: I believe that pizza is a regional food that must be reviewed based on its stylistic peers (eg. New York vs Detroit vs Chicago etc), rather than overall. That said, I don't know how to categorize the Syracuse version on the spectrum of style, so for what it lacks in my ability to figure that out, it tastes pretty good. Crust was thick yet still light and crisp, reminiscent of the pan pizzas of Metro Detroit, but still resembled a classicly round New York pie otherwise (albeit much smaller in size of pie and slice). Sauce and cheese were pretty utility but did the job. White slice also performed well. All in all good stuff, I liked it. Keep up the good work, Varisty!

The varsity Pizza was delicious! I wanted more after we had finished it. Glad I had found this place when we were up at the hospital.

The place was bustling, all seats taken, people standing waiting on their order, and others dashing in for their carry out orders. There's good reason for that, the food, the coffee, the service, the vibe was all excellent. Inside is clean, simply decorated, and everything from the food to the kitchen is visible. It's simply part of the decor. We purchased some bagels from the previous day, some breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The coffee was bold, rich and fresh. The bagels delicious, all of the sandwich parts cooked to perfection. There's a friendly, warm vibe inside that extends from the staff and is entrenched in the food and coffee. Just a fantastic place for bagels and, I have to admit, NY bagels are next level. If you're in Syracuse, I highly recommend you make sure you make Water Street Bagel one of your stops.

The staff always seem to be hard at work as they are clearly in high demand. We were lucky this visit because all of the bagels were super fresh as it was peak busy hours. We also were lucky because we actually found parking quite quickly & didn't have to circle the block. I appreciate they offer sandwich options but I usually stick with a bagel & some form of cream cheese for myself because that's just usually my preference. This visit I got a rosemary salt bagel with salmon cream cheese. It was simple & perfectly what I was looking for that day. It's a beautiful space that is well lit & well decorated. It's easy to find them with their sign out front. It can get a bit crowded inside if they're busy but that's nothing to complain about it's just the reality of the space they are working with. Last note- it does always smell really amazing when you walk in there.
