She didn't do what I wanted and the attitude was way too much in the nail spa that I just gave up asking for what I wanted and ended up just paying but not looking back . I think this is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I don't even know where to start. They don't warn you that it's an extra charge to sit on the massage chair. Also, the place is not clean at all. There were so many flys and mosquitos everywhere and I told her after she's done cleaning my feet I'm gonna leave because I couldn't there were so many mosquitos and I told her I was allergic she just put the fan on me. She only put the gel clear coat on and I said I'm gonna leave I don't want to get bit and she said you're still gonna pay $30 I said "but there's no color" she said doesn't matter I put gel clear base coat. At that point I just let her finish my pedicure cause there was no point on paying $30 just for a clear base coat. Never coming here ever again I felt so disgusted after. read more

You pay for what you get-- except this place is perfect if you want to pay less than $40 for gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I paid $35 today, $40 including tips. I normally go somewhere closer to home around the San Gabriel Valley in Temple City or Alhambra, but after seeing my co-worker's beautiful manicures all the time, I had to give this place a try. To be honest, they sell you for the manicure/ pedicure service, and not for the equipments, the ambiance, or the nice fancy spas. No fancy bath salts, or nice hot towels for smoother hands... But you DO get a nicely done manicure for half the price you pay. The staff are nice, and it's easy to communicate with them. You can tell them what you like and they will try their best to fulfill your request. Just remember, this is not like any other nail salons so go in with no expectations then you'll be surprised with the results! If this place was closer to home, I would come more often. read more

Reviews deceived me a little, this place is not clean at all, I think it looks dirty, everything looks broken and just OLD. I was actually scared when they were cleaning my nails in fear of getting an infection or something. I wish I payed more attention to where the equipment came from. It's a great price for only $20 for a gel manicure, but I might spend more elsewhere to get a better job done, we'll see how long mine lasts for too & I'll provide an update. Their regular nail selection looked just ok, seemed like they have all old bottles. Same with the gel polish, they didn't have much of a selection! The reason I am ultimately giving 3 stars is for is how my nails turned out in the end, just OK, or less than OK actually. The edges are not neat, nor crisp corners. Everyone said Nancy does a good job, she painted my nails, and it was a dissappointment. There is gel on my skin and it looks messy. They did do a good job cleaning up my cuticles and dead skin. I was probably there for one hour!!! They do take a long time, there are only 3 of them, and they switch from cleaning to painting. Not sure I will come back here. read more

Yey! My first time! I came in this afternoon with my sister and met this two Asian ladies who are very nice. They were about to close like 15mins and they still have customers too; however, they still let us in. While I was waiting for my turn I was looking at all the colors for there nail polish. They have a lot and I had hard time but it's a good because they give you a lot of options. Well when it was my turn the lady soak my feet with soap, brush, and cut my nails and clean my nail thoroughly. Lol. Lastly they put the nail polish color that I like and it came out very pretty. Since getting hooked on 14-day-lasting gel manicures over a year ago, I've searched from Silver Lake to Glendale for a salon that would give me consistent results without breaking the bank. I used to get my nails done in Los Feliz at $40 a pop for the gel and $20 for the pedicure. At $60/visit, not including tip, this luxury twice a month became hard to justify when bad manicures happened at least half the time. One day, I stumbled on Vartani Nail Design on the Glendale/Eagle Rock crack. Owned by sisters Kelly (big boss) and Nancy (little boss), these Vietnam-born ladies giggled, chatted and worked their way into my heart with consistently perfect, bimonthly mani-pedis. At $20 for a gel manicure and $15 for a pedicure, the cost is reasonable enough to regularly delight my fingers and toes with candy-colored awesomeness. It's true that this salon doesn't have the flashy lighting, lavender-scented air or champagne to offer and that's just fine. I'll take the immaculate manicures and put the extra $25 towards a bottle of Chandon. Tips: Call to make an appointment - it's a 3-4 person operation and always busy. In 40 visits, they've been available for walk-ins 2 times. Slather SPF on tops of your hands and fingers before dipping them in the UV light. $20 for one-color gel manicure, $25 for French gel, $15 for pedicures. Don't panic when they service multiple clients simultaneously - it still comes out perfect. If you become a friendly regular, you get special night/early morning appointment times! read more

Reviews definitely deceived me as well. Looking back, this was DEFINITELY my fault, but I had never been here before and relied on the great reviews to go here for the first (and last) time. I asked my bridesmaids to meet me at this salon so that we could all get a mani pedi together a few days before my wedding. We chose gel for the mani and regular polish for the pedi. While the price is right and the ladies are kind (lots of smiling, lots of nodding), the salon is small, dated, and dirty. The staff reused the same old towels for different girls--even after cleanings, eek; they cut nails and threw the trimmings on the ground, etc., etc., etc. It got to the point where I noticed so many little unclean practices that I was afraid to touch anything. Just...no. Overall, it was a drab, unfortunate experience. Sure, it's inexpensive, but obviously for a reason. Definitely will never return. read more

I'm within walking distance of this nail salon, in fact I pass two others on the way to Vartani Nail Design. It's in a tiny little shopping center across from mcdonalds. However, as everyone says- Gel Nails for $20? I also overheard them say mani/pedi (regular) was only 20 as well! Decent selection of OPI polishes, mixed in with other brands. Cheap prices, friendly employeesand great quality. I was a little skeptical when I walked in (TINY!) but they were very attentive, remembered my name (even though I only gave it once) and made me feel comfortable and happy with the services. It's a pretty small store. When I came in on a Wednesday around 6:30 three other regulars walked in. It's a very homie feeling kind of like neighbors just dropping in to say hi. One lady I didn't catch her name took time to do my nails prepping and cleaning each nail she didn't rush at all but it did take longer than I expected. After prepping my nails she gave me a hand massage that turned into a full arm then shoulder and neck massage it was pretty nice. I took off a star because the store could have been cleaner. After cutting my nails she dumped the clippings in the floor which I guess isn't a big deal if they sweep it up but it was just really odd to me. I took off another star because machine they use To sterilize the tools was sitting in top of a microwave and in not sure how other stores clean their tools but it looked like they just popped the tools back into their plastic baggy and set it inside the machine for the next people To use. But hey it was a really really nice gel manicure for the $24 price tag. And on top of that all the workers were super friendly. read more

Ugh, Yelp did me wrong on this one. How this place can have any positive reviews is beyond me! I'm not one to usually \write reviews but I feel compelled to warn others about this place. I've been to many many nail salons in my lifetime and I've thought I've had some bad experiences/crappy service in the past, but this one tops them all by miles. First of all, the place is a tiny and everything in it is old and drab. I kick myself for not walking in and walking right back out. But the depressing state of the shop alone is not enough reason for me to write this bad review. I asked for a mani/pedi and I noticed that they had 3 nail stations and 2 spa chairs. All 3 nail stations were occupied but there was no one in the spa chairs. I figured since no one else was getting a pedi and the spa chairs were empty, that they would seat me in one of them. I have a newborn baby at home and I rarely get to go get my nails done anymore, so when I do, I expect to have at least an hour in which I can relax and feel pampered. Well, instead of getting one of the spa chairs, they made me wait 15 - 20 minutes until one of the stations was empty and then sat me there and brought out a plastic tub for my feet. Again, this alone wouldn't have pissed me off, but then when the next customer came in, they sat her in one of the spa chairs! I guess I wasn't good enough for one. The part of this whole experience that really got my blood boiling was that the woman who gave me my manicure spent a whole 5 minutes on the ENTIRE manicure, from start to finish (and this is including the half moon design I had asked for, which she didn't really know how to do and did so haphazardly.) She was done with my entire manicure while the lady working on my feet had only finished cutting the cuticles on one toe! Manicures usually come with a hand massage. She did mine in record time! About 10 seconds per hand! I couldn't believe it. She just did such a half-assed job and I could see lint stuck in the polish she just slapped on my nails. When I pointed out these mistakes to her, she acted like it was such a chore to have to remove them. When she was done, my nails looked like they were painted by a blind person with seizures. I had red paint on my skin that she never bothered to clean up. I've never been to a salon that cared so little about the work they were doing or made me feel like they wanted me out of that chair so quickly. I feel cheated of my time spent there at that retched place. read more

I asked for gel manicure and a regular pedicure...the response was, "we don't have time right now..." She saw me on my phone in the car typing and came out to ask if I can wait 10 minutes. That should have been the original response. Too late. You made a bad 1st impression. The drive way to the shopping center is tight. It only allows for one car to enter or exit. There are very few parking spaces available. You may want to reconsider when you turn people away. read more

I came here to get my nails done because my usual place was busy and I had really bad pain from a ingrown. I liked the nail techs. Friendly, but the pedicure was very fast and seemed incomplete, though the polish looked great. I had hoped for more attention to the cuticles and smoothing the rough edges.
