Vayla's Gourmet Shaved Ice has to be our favorite spot for a frozen treat! It all started when my son became obsessed with snow cones because his school kept having a snow cone truck at events. So I looked for something similar at a brick and mortar location. Their shaved ice is basically like a snow cone and they have all types of different flavors. There's one that's really good called Rico Suave which has banana, coconut, condensed milk, and some other tropical flavors. But my go-to is mango with sour worms on top! read more

Great for a nice cold sweet treat! Good service and a wide variety of flavors and combinations to choose from. Not a lot of places to sit but it's located in the falls so you can definitely find sitting somewhere. read more

Let's be honest. Shaved ice isn't that hard to get wrong. Plus, it's expensive. I feel guilty spending so much on frozen water sometimes Lol. However, people seem to love it , regardless. So, if you like shaved us ( like my kids do), Vayla's is a good choice. They've got great flavor combos and the syrups themselves have a nice taste to them. A little bit beyond just the sugary syrup you often get with this type of dessert. Aside from that, service was great and they were exercising all precautions with the pandemic. Recommended. read more

You can't go wrong with some shaved ice on a hot sunny day here in South Florida. This spot offers a variety of flavors with a few toppings to choose from as well. Shaved ice has become a guilty pleasure of mine... Lol, it's definitely nostalgic especially if you grew up here in South Florida. If you find yourself in the Falls or are in the area this is a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth! I spent around $11 when I came with my boyfriend and we got a water bottle as well so it's definitely inexpensive. I highly recommend this spot. read more

I have never heard of a place that does snow cones. They usually sold on the side of the road or in the stadium. I was very impressed. They have a wide variety of choices of flavors and toppings. Wow! That's all I have to say!! I grew update on shaved ice but Kimberly takes it you the next level !! Her ideas are amazing taking Shaved Ice creations to the next level ! As we were talking, she was creating new ideas that each sounding tantalizing and better than the one before! She did say she will take customer's ideas. So I loved the texture of this shaved ice, very thin but heavy and dense. Not like a snow cone where it's bits of ice. The portions are huge! The small is almost like a quart of Chinese food. Price I guess is reasonable since it's trendy but overpriced for ice. There are plenty of flavors to choose from along with different combinations. There isn't really anywhere to sit inside or right outside. read more

The owner is very friendly and great at giving recommendations . They have over 50 flavors and some sugar free ones which I found very cool . It is in a nice small place but very neat and organized . I tried really hard to love it and I think it had more to do with the flavor I picked vs anything else. I had the smores flavor and it just didn't taste right. My daughter had the blueberry and that was actually really good. The store is in the inside corner of the strip mall and I almost missed it, but it was very clean with lots of seating. I would have just liked a better explanation of the toppings and mix ins that I could of had. The guy there was very nice, but didn't really explain much even though he asked if it was our first time. Not giving up on Vaylas, going back for a different flavor and toppings. AMAZING gem located in the heart of kendall, nestled right in between two awesome dinner spots - tacos & tattoos and pizza project!! Vayla's shaved ice is just what Miami needed right in time for the summer heat. If you have ever been to Hawaii these shaved ice are perfect summer treats and Vaylas knows how to make them just right. So many flavors to choose from we had a hard time selecting - we got a simple cherry- that is always just perfect. a banana/chocolate shell - i was hesitant but went on a limb and am so glad i did, WOW it was so so soooo good. and the kids had rainbow which was a hit - my 3 yr old was upset at us for trying his without asking permission bc he wanted to eat it ALL by himself!! The service was super friendly and the place was spotless clean. We are glad to have this close to home and will be back again real soon!! read more

Omg this place I loved I bump into it when I went to the fall. Let me tell you the owner Kim she amazing . All the shave ice is high corn syrup free. Is sugar cane. I must say u tried samples of a few flavors and horchata won my heart!!!!! Am Honduran cuban and in Honduras we drink it but this one is an in between the Mexican one and honduras. Absolutely love this place. Family owned and you feel it as soon as you enter, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I'm a big fan of shaved ice and went in one day with my sons. As much as I had high hopes for it, the shaved ice was not my favorite. We ordered two small Rainbows which had icing and sprinkles on top. But it was just too much sugar! My kids ate a few bites of the shaved ice but mainly concentrated on the toppings. After the toppings were gone they didn't want any more of the shaved ice. It's not the same course texture of granizados. Possibly the too fine shaved ice caused it to melt in about 30 seconds and leave a liquid syrup of colors. I really wanted to like it but I'm just not a fan of their version of shaved ice. read more

Kimberly and Shawna... have done a wonderful job at setting this diamond in Kendall! I called as I found them by mistake and told Shawna the shaved ice I was used to was from this guy down in Key West (I am as stationed in the Naval base) when I came back from dY or ops I went to have an Orange, Lemon with Anis. Mediocre Food, Insultingly Small Portions and Poor Service…read more Unfortunately, Komodo was a major disappointment. The food was mediocre--especially for a Miami Spice menu--and nowhere near the upscale experience we expected. After spending almost $400 for my husband and I, I would have expected more. The portions were insultingly tiny, with the exception of the chicken salad. The salmon tacos contained what tasted like salmon "paste," and each taco shell was barely two inches long. They were so ridiculously small that even our waiter chuckled. The "half Maine lobster" was about the size of a jumbo shrimp, with no claw. The main course came with no sides so for $65 jumbo shrimp that was it. If you actually want a meal expect to pay extra for "fried" rice that was super bland and churrasco 10 oz extra at $12. So my steak meal was $87 and for that I could have had a real upscale experience at Daniel's in the Gables with upscale service and food. The experience started poorly when the four of us were seated at an awkward, cramped table with no legroom. We were positioned facing outward instead of toward one another, making normal conversation nearly impossible. It was a very strange setup for a party of four. Also, it was very warm in the restaurant and I would have asked to adjust but at the look at the servers face and everyone else I was afraid to say anything that something would happen to my food. The hostess also forgot to give us the Miami Spice menu. As soon as we requested it, the waiter's attitude noticeably changed, and the service went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the restaurant was overcrowded, with a very young crowd pouring into the bar area, and everything felt disorganized and poorly managed. Miami Spice used to be a wonderful way to experience Miami's better restaurants. Unfortunately, this felt more like a complete rip-off than a special dining experience. Komodo did not deliver the quality, portions, service or atmosphere its prices and reputation suggest. They should not be participating in Miami Spice as they have no upscale food to offer. My only regret is I didn't take pictures for potential customers to see how terrible this experience was and food looked. This was highly disappointing,,,save your money.

Vayla's Gourmet Shaved Ice has a cute setup inside the mall, and their menu is definitely impressive, offering a variety of creative and wild snow cone options. However, despite the fun concept, the execution didn't live up to expectations. The biggest downside was the price--these snow cones are way too expensive for what they are. On top of that, the taste just wasn't great. We were hoping for something refreshing and flavorful, but the flavors didn't hit the mark. Unfortunately, we wouldn't return. Next time, we'd stick to a more traditional snow cone spot that delivers better taste and value. read more

The shaved ice is such a refreshing treat. Perfect texture, so smooth it melts in your mouth. The flavors are perfect, not too sweet and really tastes like it's supposed to. We've been following the truck for a while and it's nice to have a store we can come to whenever we want. I totally recommend Vayla's Shaved Ice! read more
