Perfection. I happened to be in the neighborhood and decided that this was my opportunity to try Motek. I am just completely wowed. A relatively simple menu and really comfortable place despite being inside a building of other storefronts. Interestingly, as a many of things that I like pretty much everyone else but today I was here that falafel. And I think it's important to point out immediately that this is the best falafel I have eaten in the United States. Big statement. Not just Miami. Not just Florida. Tired United States. If you look carefully at my pictures, you will see the beautiful green color, but that not a wonderful flavor, the perfect texture, and the wonderful center slightly country outer layer that achieved a level of wonderful that I rarely encounter. Served with eggplant and Israeli salad with some pickles and a really, hot, hot pepper, , this is thelunbch that I have been craving. I will be back to try the hummus and schnitzel and pretty much anything else they have on the menu. Prices are very reasonable and service is excellent. I have previously dined at another Motek location, but I was excited to try some of their other dishes. This time around, I had their cauliflower, zucchini latkes, Chicken Shawarma, and cabbage salad. The cauliflower dish comes with 3 florets that have been coated and fried in a semi sweet sauce. I liked the crunch and sauce pairing. The cabbage salad was something I had ordered before. The cabbage is cut so finely...I felt healthy and refreshed from this dish. Unfortunately, the zucchini latkes were a miss for me. The actual latkes were really hard. It was kind of like eating a pita chip, and I didn't get much flavor. I know the latkes are paired with applesauce to match with the traditional latkes, but I think having a Tzakiki sauce would have enhanced the taste. The other two were a hit, though. I loved the chicken shawarma and appreciated that it was served with a pita and small side of hummus. This dish was addicting. I was getting full at this point, but couldn't stop eating. The chicken was so flavorful and moist. You don't need the hummus because it's already so packed with flavor, but it was a nice addition. Overall, I appreciate Motek's take on classic Mediterranean dishes. They have a solid range of tapas and large plates, and the ambiance is always very peaceful and intimate. read more

We first discovered Motek in 2020 and have been coming to the original location before they expanded. Most dishes are now greasy and it wasn't like that before. Hummus used to be way better and now it's more olive oil than hummus. It's just average lunch food that tries to seem like something that it's not. Since 2020, the prices have gone up a lot (I understand inflation and what not) but the quality went down. The tab includes 18% gratuity, and it's now standard to pay around $80 for two people to eat here. I could understand that price for the Aventura or Brickell location because you get to sit at a nice location, but the downtown location is inside a rundown office building where half of the tables are in the mall walkway. And again, it's just mid lunch food. The service is mid across all locations. This time they messed up our order and we had to wait for them to remake the dish (we ordered something completely different from what they've brought). They act like they know gratuity is included and we can't do anything about it. It feels like they are focused on opening as many new locations as possible over maintaining reasonable quality to price ratio. 2/27/2025 - Searching TikTok in Los Angeles, we found this unique cafe store in Miami for a visit. We enjoyed the ambience and hospitality at the store, especially Joao, our waiter. He told me MOTEK means Sweet Heart, etc. MOTEK Cafe was opened in July 2020 as a first store in Miami. Today, the chain store has 8 locations in Miami. We all enjoyed cozy ambience (5 stars), hospitality (5 stars), drinks (4 stars) and LAHMAJUN CHIPS (4 stars). I recently visited this restaurant on 05/04/2026 for a reservation between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Unfortunately, after leaving, I realized I had accidentally left my small black purse behind. I was notified that it had been found and returned, and I can pick it up. While I appreciate that my purse, license, and debit cards were still inside, I was very disappointed to discover that approximately $290 in cash was missing when the purse was returned to me. This situation has been extremely upsetting and concerning. I hope management takes this matter seriously, reviews any available surveillance footage, and improves the handling and security of customers' lost belongings. I've visited 3 Motek locations by now and while this place is small, the service and food do not disappoint. We ordered a few different dishes and within a few minutes, I was already eating. The tables are small (built for 2), so if you're there at a busy time, it'll be hard to have space for everything you order. No reservations at this location, but on a Saturday at 11ish, it was half empty, and there was no wait. Like others have said, it's inside a jewelry mall. They have tables inside the cafe and outside the cafe in the corridor of the jewelry mall. I chose to sit inside the cafe, it's cuter. I love the Mediterranean menu. The food felt indulgent, and I would come back next time I'm in Miami! My husband ordered the SPICY SCHNITZEL & EGGPLANT and I had the HUMMUS SHAKSHUKA that came with fresh challah bread, because I love hummus and shakshuka, so might as well combine them, but I have to say the combo didn't really work for me. This location is very small inside the famous jewelry building in downtown. It is a great option for lunch. The food is delicious. I found that this location serves their food on point. It is always warm, tasty and nicely presented unlike some of the other ones. I truly enjoy their Arayes burger, a Lebanese grilled beef stuffed pita, with a side of fries and delicious sauces. It was served warm and fries were very tasty. Another great option is the chicken shawarma wrap made with chicken thigh, amba aoili, shredded cabbage and pickled onions. The combination of flavors is just fantastic. Prices are a bit high and they keep on going higher everytime I visit, but then again is Miami. Motek has multiple locations in Miami and not all have the same menu. Sort of a bizarre location - you have to walk into the jewelry shopping center. However, the food here is very solid. The matboucha along with the bread to start was very tasty. I love schnitzel, so I got that also. Pita and hummus on that was also great. Pita was nice and soft, and hummus was well made. Schnitzel had sesame seeds on it and was nice and crunchy - good portion too. Mint tea was nice too - got to see all the mint floating around there. Lastly, babka bread pudding was super good too. I was already familiar with some of the great food from Motek from the South Beach Wine & Food festival, so when a friend asked if I wanted to come to the downtown Miami location with a group of fellow foodies, it was an easy yes! Its location in the lobby of the Seybold Building - Miami's jewelry hub complete with armed guards at the entrance - gave it a super exclusive speakeasy vibe! That they served us right around closing time added to the exclusivity. Since ours was a group of about 16, the restaurant's staff set up our table right in the lobby (the actual restaurant space is a little on the cozy side). Served on a bed of fresh greens and tomatoes, as well as a pita bread, my chicken shish kabob was juicy and well flavored in the natural juices of the chicken. With the spicy hummus paste & ketchup, my zaatar fries definitely had a good kick to them! Besides the Sauterne dessert wine from nearby Epicurean Wine (free corkage at Motek!), my sweet tooth was sated by their creamy and jiggly coconut panna cotta topped with raspberry sauce and pistachio. I had such a great experience at Café Motek in Miami! The restaurant itself was excellent, food was great but what really stood out was the floor manager, Steve. He's the young guy with the cool tattoo art, and honestly one of the nicest, most professional people I've met in hospitality. Steve went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of the entire time. His attention to detail and genuine friendliness made the whole night even more enjoyable. The location is not the best, but we found it by asking a security officer. The restaurant is located inside a building consisting of numerous jewelry stores. Every item that we ordered was truly delicious that we wanted to keep eating even when we were full. Some highlights from our meal included the Arayes Burger, Chicken Shawarma Bowl, Halloumi Cheese, Fried Cauliflower, Moroccan Cigars, and Hummus Tehina. We probably could've done without the hummus, since we got a side of hummus with both entrees and even a little drizzled with the Moroccan Cigars. Motek in Boca Raton is fantastic! The venue is beautiful with stunning outdoor seating. We were not able to book a resi online and decided that before we head back north we would stop in to see if we could get in one night. Low and behold we got an 8:15 pm resi on Tuesday night yet online it clearly told us no resi available until 10:30 pm. Lots of staff...managers, runners etx. Chetty was our server...very personable, shook everyone's hand when he introduced himself and took the time to explain the menu. Drinks were very good and arrived quicky. We were disappointed they didn't have the dumplings but everything else we ate was outstanding...falafel, spinach pancakes were delicious, the fried eggplant sticks beyond! Hummous, babganoush and laffa were delicious. Skewers, salamon and chicken were very tasty and the two salads we ordered, watermelon feta and Israeli salad were outstanding! Everything was very fresh. Can't wait to return...hopefully the online resi system is working...when we arrived for our reservation half the restaurant was empty and the patio had several open tables.
