Last month, I brought my best furry friend of 14 years (she was almost 20!!) in for a very difficult visit. Lillie had had a tough summer. She wasn't getting better. I knew in my head that she was ready to go, though my heart didn't agree. I can't speak highly enough of everyone at the Everett VCA. It was the worst two days of my life, and somehow everyone who took part in Lillie's final care made it less painful. You all gave her comfort, peace, and dignity in her final moments; and you never judged her terribly sad humans who held her and sobbed til the end. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Super easy to make an appointment online. They do offer a free exam visit but I had issues trying to use that so I gave up and paid for the exam. I brought my dog's medical records and for whatever reason had it out with the vet tech who struggled to read them properly, but we eventually got that resolved. The vet herself was fantastic. She realized my dog was on the wrong dose of his medication and since we adjusted he has been symptom free. I have since moved to another city and they are no longer convenient for me to access, but I would have continued to work with this veterinarian specifically. read more

I brought my dog waldo in to have him checked for a possible issue he had an ultrasound done & there was a rumor found in his adrenal gland above his right kidney & was terminally ill & dr. Luis de vivero still gave him a rabies vaccination which by state law my dog waldo was exemt to because he was terminally ill it was after saying on the phone to the receptionist that I didn't want him having it by the time I showed up to pick him up they gave me his rabies vaccination tags & told me to make him as comfortable as possible dr Luis de video gave my dog trazadone which cause liver damage & that combined with the rabies vaccination caused my dog waldo to become sicker after the visit he had an auto immune reaction from the vaccine & turned yellow all over right before he died in front of me he was fine & going the bathroom etc. Before the appointment & immediately after he wasn't going & couldn't stand it was the vaccination combined with the trazadone it was poisoning him & his body was fighting itself i would not go to this animal hospital go to angell memorial i could have sued him for negligence but it would have cost me money that I don't have he was my fathers dog i took him when my father passed & Luis de vivero killed him a lot faster & he can barely speak English so we couldn't understand what he was saying he's a scumbag so everyone reading this knows. read more

I went to bring my tea cup yorkie to a free physical because I was concerned about a cough she had and wanted to figure out if it was serious when I came in everything was fine. Everybody was nice up until the point of getting her vaccination. I wasn't sure if my dog was kept up with her vaccinations due to her previous owner not knowing so I was going to opt out of the vaccination and get the cheaper version at vetco who also does the vaccines for my other dogs when I explain this to the assistant doctor, an older woman with red hair and black on the bottom with glasses, she was extremely rude and unprofessional asking me in a sarcastic way if I even had $69, which is what their vet cost to do a vaccine I politely explain to her that there's a cheaper option somewhere else that I go to get my other dogs vaccinated at that's where I will go understanding that by law they need to vaccinate my dog for rabies, but in the middle of our conversation, she turned to walk away and started laughing, saying that she was going to get her manager after 10 minutes of me sitting in frustrated silence I got up and I left. All in all the way she acted was very rude specially to a new client that has never been to the establishment before and it was very unprofessional. read more

I'm not very impressed. My previous vet tried to rip me off constantly, so I went to this vet. They messed up my appointment I made a month in advance, so I had to go twice. This was the only Vet that didn't give my dog a treat after stabbing her with needles. My dog loves going to the Vet just for the treats. Basically, they just tried to sell me packages and programs. They spent more time trying to sell me things than examining my dog for her first visit. I couldn't even ask any questions because they were trying to sell me everything. I have been taking my pets here for the last 11 years and up until recently they were great. There is no point in having a regular veterinarian that you use for routine visits if they can not get you in for a serious emergency during normal business hours. Recently I was away out of the country and my dog walker noticed something wasn't right with my senior dog. I called and asked if she could bring the dog in and the best they could do was have her drop her off for several hours and eventually she would be seen. I explained the situation and that it was going to be a 30+ minute drive each way for the dog walker and still nothing they could do other than either have her wait several hours or drop my sick, scared dog off and get her later that day. You would think that they would be more accommodating for someone who regularly brings their 3 dogs there when one of them is having a medical emergency. She ended up bringing her to the MA vet referral hospital and although her diagnosis is still not good at least she made it through until I got back and I will get a little more time with her. If we waited for her to be seen here she would not be with us anymore. I don't know what has happened here over the last few years, but things have gone way down hill. I understand that vet offices are busier now than they used to be but they should find a way to see their patients during an emergency during normal hours. This is the second time in the last 6 months that I have had to seek out emergency vet care elsewhere for one of my senior dogs who have been being seen here for over 10 years read more

Do not even send your fur babies here worst place ever I should've known when they thought my kitten was coming in for a dog appointment.. not impressed what should be included in the packages are not , like something so simple as nail trimming is an additional cost lol every appointment you have to pay for something even if you have a package deal .. I feel the package deal was explained to me six times and every six times it was not the same thing.. But here's what really bothers me .. I brought my kitten in to get spayed, they did her bloodwork told me that her liver count was low and I had to be put on Dramamine.. that was about 4 -6 months ago maybe .. do you think anybody from this place has called me to see how she's doing? has called to encourage me to bring her in to check on her? NO disgusting that's why I canceled my membership, don't waste your time .. Then when I try to make an appointment after being charged they told me and I quote "" every time you use this service you get charged for it " even if it's in your package deal!! ( I haven't brought her in since the blood work months ago, so why am I being charged ?) I'm just glade it's over I'm not even going to dispute the charge .. I'm now looking for a new local, affordable place if anyone has recommendations ! P.s. The furbabies owners who have had negative experiences with the Veterinary Clinic I can agree. I apologize for your experiences.....And I don't want to hear from them trying to come up with excuses. They first where good until an amazing vet left. Everything went to crap. I would call 3 times a day for a week/2 weeks no one would return calls. No one let you know they would be closed not on their voice mail you go their for importance to find out they are closed .. a note on the door! A view people have posted the same issues I had. No one was ever on the same page or has the same answers. My dog has a special condition as well as being a real picky eater. No one bothered to help me resolve the issue or give suggestions. Never saw a vet after the one my dog would see. Always saw vet techs. Due to all of the issue's emergency or just questions that weren't resolved or at the VERY least RETURN CALLS OR ANSWER THEM I was taking legal actions. I don't recommend this place they do not have your best interests for your furbabies! For those who are positive ..... good luck!! read more

We always know every aspect of their health and what needs to happen. And we are always provided with estimates and choices as far as prices go. I don't recommend this veterinary clinic. They aren't vets, they are sales people! I should have followed my gut when nothing felt right . They don't care about your pet, they only care about how much money they can bring in. Bonuses or incentives much be huge for these vet fakes. Took my 1 year old puppy in for loss of appetite, and vomiting. Vet came in and touched his belly and said he needs an xray , could be an obstruction. $450 I asked if we could start off with monitoring his diet. Vet said ok but he may not make it through the night. Well shit, ok Left him there for Sedation and X-rays. Before I left I had to sign forms and agree to resuscitate or not resuscitate during this procedure. If I chose resuscitate, it would cost me about $1000 first of all I'm not in that room to see if he needed resuscitation and I had really a gut wrenching bad feeling about this but I did anyway. Results came back and there was a slight spot in his abdomen couldn't really tell what it was so they suggested bringing him to Angel Memorial for an ultrasound. They said they would forward all of his records. They would call ahead, but none of that was done 1:30 in the morning at Angel Memorial, and the receptionist says to us there are no technicians here at this hour to do the ultrasound. After five minute check up there the day added up to be over $1000 and still no answers . We took a puppy home and I fed him a very bland diet of boiled hamburg and he ate. He pooped and he didn't throw up. $1000. Later, I feel like I was scammed I will never ever go back to VCA in Everett or VCA anywhere again read more

Impeccable care for my kitty at this animal hospital. Once I came in to the hospital in a frenzy because my 9 month old cat was lethargic, not eating and unresponsive. I expressed my concerns and told Dr. Luis De Viveiro about my financial constraints with billing, since I was a young college student at the time. Dr. De Viveiro worked with me, took the necessary tests and helped my cat. The fact that the doctor push almost every patient to have a $400+ examination is no doubt, just check out for all the negative reviews here. Here is my first and last experience with them: My dog is having diarrhea recently and like what we did for her 3 years ago in another state, we went to the doctor for stool examination and antibiotics. Instead of giving instructions on how to properly taking care of my dog (eg., what to feed) during this hard time, Dr. Lightbody simply give me the option to do a $200+ blood test, $300+ X-Ray or $400+ Ultrasound, and telling me diarrhea can be caused by anything so a full exam would be ideal. And when asked what else she can tell about my dog's condition, she said there is nothing she can tell for now and AGAIN highly recommend me to do a Ultrasound first thing in the morning next day. Will you come back for this? And for the possible reply from the owner, please don't say anything about feeling upset or disappointed about my experience or how I feel, cuz if you were, you won't let doctors practicing this way. I have been bringing my dog to NSAH since he was a puppy and unfortunately they closed. I was referred to the VCA WHAT A MISTAKE. My first visit there was over 800 dollars for a visit and two prescriptions that are around 80 dollars each , absolutely ridiculous how they take advantage of people who in my case needed a vet asap because of my dogs medicine . I have been going back and forth with these people over my dogs prescription in which he needs to take everyday forever. I called and spoke to the woman VERNICE WHO WAS INCREDIBLY RUDE she asked my situation and as I was explaining to her she kept talking over me and then eventually called myself and Chewy liars GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS THERE VERNICE, who by the way called my husband when I hung up to let him know we could come get my dogs script. Like am I on Mars over here. I retrieved my dogs records and have an appointment with a new vet. We took our puppy here for the first year for the puppy package. It can be quite expensive with a new puppy and all the vaccines. They have their own private parking lot and it has always been easy to make appointments even on the weekend! Sometimes they do run a little behind so you might have to wait in the lobby. Everyone working here is very friendly! The only downside is the spay/neuter is not included in the puppy package. read more

Had to "fight" with them to get a hard copy of my dogs heartworm prevention, then after almost 2wks I was able to get them to give me one (they wanted me to use their pharmacy) unfortunately by that time i couldn't get the deal on medicine, so I was unable to use hard prescription. I messaged vca Everett and told them I needed 2mth of meds they told me to come in so the puppy could be weighted and pick and pick up prescription, the puppy got weighted then she said Ill get your prescription then told me they were unable to give me the medicine because i had picked up a hard copy i explained what happened and they said we still don't know if you filled the prescription and already have some at home..why would I want to spend $200 on his medication and then come spend more money on the something. Their prices are very expensive, I was charged $80 for a 1 yr rabies vaccine, that didn't include the other shots and the visit. read more

Update: after reading many reviews I just would like to add that all the people complaining this place is expensive and that they are pushy on tests and procedures to get money. As someone who thankfully has the means and funds to do what most can't and looking at me and my babies, who r in full Gucci, u could tell and I would be the perfect target for them to "up sell", the staff NEVER EVER NOT ONCE TIME TRIED TO PUSH/FORCE ME TO DO ANYTHING THAT WAS EXPENSIVE! Even when my baby wasnt eating and constipated and we were worried and brought her in, Dr. Lightbody SUGGESTED to do tests to see if there is something internally happening, never pushed, never said we needed to do it nothing! I've never not once gotten from them that they just want to make money. To the people complaining that ur charged a hospital visit fee of $75 just to be looked at and not treated, do u go see ur doctor or go to the emergency room to be told it's just a cold go home and restated drinks lots of fluids for free? That sounds absurd doesn't it? Whether it's ur doctor, ur dentist, to have a plumber come into ur house and just SEE what is wrong, u must pay a fee. Also ur doctors suggest unnecessary tests all the time to rule out any problems and to be safe but no one seems to question or complain about that? If u think that the costs of all this is too expensive, get the care club membership, it's deigned to help u save money and get everything ur pet needs. I've gone in with my puppies at least 2 a months for the vaccines, that's $75 plus $35 for a vaccine, that's $110, which is $220 a month if I paying out of pocket, Care club with neuter and spay($500 procedure) is $95 a month. U guys do the math. I think someone people just want to complain and write a bad review in hopes of getting something for free or just for no reason at all. This has to be the best vets office around! All of the staff from the receptionists to the medical assistants to the vets r amazing, welcoming and loving. My babies see Dr. Lightbody and I highly recommend her. She, as well as everyone there, care so much about them and their health. She very knowledgeable and attentive. My favorite part about her is that she isn't like other vets that wants to load ur puppy with all the vaccines, she's very cautious and informative. She will only allow me to give my small one 1 vaccine a visit bc she said she is so small and Incase a reaction happens we know what caused it and r on top of it. I've personally have never heard of that from a vet, almost all of my friends who have puppies their vets give me multiple shots at once. They also provide a care club membership which I recommend, it includes office visit cost and all shots free each visit, which that alone u save with first visit. U can also choose the plan that includes neuter and spay. They also offer u a free trail to an amazing pet insurance. I would also like to add that they are very accommodating and will take ur sick pet in same day if needed. I walked in to mine to a jam packed waited area and maybe waited only 30 minutes which insane, and any time Uber ever been late I don't think I've waited more than 5 minutes before I called in. I was able to get an appointment for my dog within the same week I called to schedule. It was a smooth process from start to finish! VCA truly makes you feel like part of their family. They are caring and compassionate. Recently our family's very loved and cared for pet passed away early in the morning, we rushed her to VCA while she took her last breaths, VCA opened their doors to us (before office hours) and had her immediately admitted and assessed, confirmed she had passed away. They allowed us a room to ourselves to say our goodbyes, we didn't feel rushed. They gave us time we needed to grieve. The process was simple! Two weeks later, we received a personal card expressing their sympathies. It was heartwarming to see that in our mailbox, to acknowledge our loss. I am greatful to them for all of this. They have always been so good about following post appointments and try their best to get you in for urgent issues even when they are booked solid. Pros: I have been going there for 10 years. It is clean. The vets and vet techs are great, parking, convenient for me. I am finding lately that their are some glaring cons. Cons: Sometimes I stand at the front desk and no one acknowledges me. I don't expect a standing ovation, though that would be nice, I do expect, a "Who did you see today? That will be X$" I will walk out next time and they can bill me. That has happened more than once. The front staff seem unhappy. It The vets do upsell a little bit. They aren't super pushy about it but I don't need 300$ cbc every 6 mos. on a fairly healthy cat 12 yo cat. Still not my biggest complaint: which is VCA tries to attract more customers with a free first visit then customers make an appointment the wait is 2 mos out. God forbid your animal gets sick. There was only one vet working the day I went and they were telling people to go to the ER. It's not the way to run a good business. I think it is time to shop other vets. read more

I've been coming here for years, and have always been satisfied with the service, but last week, I brought my shih tzu because I knew it was her time. She was 14, had lost weight, and had started breathing and acting irregularly the day before. She was blind, and mostly deaf. I was obviously distraught about making this decision, but they made the situation as easy as they could. The doctor confirmed that she was clearly very sick, which eased my conscious. I appreciated the sympathy card they sent me and everyone was very respectful of my loss, even when i went to pick up her ashes. I was also pleasantly surprised at the way they were returned. A little wooden box, with a packet of forget me not seeds in a nice box. For the private cremation and the visit, the total was $275. I think for the private, it was an extra $50 maybe? I don't have anything to compare this price to, but I was okay with it. So, I'm not sure about the previous reviewers experience... Anyway, I recommend this animal hospital read more

Brought my two dogs here for the first time yesterday to get their check-ups. I went to their website beforehand and signed up to get their free checkup coupon (it's good for up to two dogs!) and also put in an appointment request online. Within a few hours, someone called me back and was able to accommodate my schedule by giving me an appointment for the following Monday evening after work. She took some information about me and my dogs over the phone and was SUPER nice. Two days before the appointment, I got a reminder call as well. They told me to bring in stool samples, previous medical records, etc., so that my wait time could be reduced. I really appreciated that! We got there a little early for our appointment, so we sat in their no-frills waiting room. There are a few benches for you to sit on, and the floor is tile, which is completely understandable. After a quick check-in and about a 15 minute wait, we were called. We had to wait an extra few minutes past our appointment time, but I think that's because they took in an emergency pet right before our appointment. The poor dog was hit by a car and came limping out of the back room with a full cast on one leg, and a cone of shame around its neck :-( I didn't mind the extra wait, knowing that another animal who needed emergency care was receiving it. We were called in, and our dogs were weighed and they did a quick medical overview to go over what shots we already had, which ones we were missing, and when we should schedule upcoming ones. The assistant was very nice and pet both of the dogs and made them both feel comfortable, even though I could tell my smaller dog was having brief moments of freaking out, due to being in a new place with tons of new smells and stimuli. The doctor came in a few minutes later and did a quick check-up on each dog. She checked their face, teeth, ears, stomach, etc. She gave them both the all-clear and answered all the questions we had. We talked to her about different products, and she gave us the pros and cons of each brand, without ever trying to sell us on any product. Again, that was very much appreciated. She was very professional, but also incredibly compassionate and caring and knowledgeable. I'm glad we found a new place for our pooches to go to when they need medical care. As I mentioned above, if you go to their website, you can print out a coupon for a free initial exam. Their base rate for appointments is $59, which is incredibly reasonable in comparison to other places I've read about. Everyone there was incredibly nice and really loved all the animals! I've been taking my dog to this vet for years..I just wished someone would have told me that they really don't care about the animals at all.It was all about how many prescriptions they could write to make more money..One of the vets informed me that my dog needed a back tooth pulled,so of course I was willing to do it we set a date then received the estimate Omg it was outrageous 1800$- 2400$ lol. Then I was told before we go ahead with the dental work we need the make sure his sugar count is good (diabetic dog) ok. So he suggested the liber for a week so that's another prescription good for two weeks.. then another one good for another two weeks so needless to say I purchased 4 of them not cheap and had to pay them 55$ each time to put it on and take it off so that ran me over 500$. Oh wait the best part is he's on the same dose of insulin nothing changes except charging me more $$$$. So I decided to take my dog to another vet for a second opinion and thank goodness I did. My dog had his teeth cleaned three pulled No Back Teeth either The best part of this story is it only cost me 883$ what a difference. I hate to give bad reviews... But I must share my experience for hopefully it will help a pet owner to Beware of the practices of this establishment. The VCA in general is sufficient in providing pet care, I have friends that frequent the VCA in different cities and didn't have as much of an issue as I did. A few years back I adopted a full bred dachshund who was obese and I brought her in to be evaluated by my vet. I asked to check to make sure that her spine, organs, joints, heart and so on was okay and didn't need extra care. I was very concerned that she was at least six lb overweight. She got a clean bill of health according to my vet. No advice was given to me about how to help her lose weight, exercise her, or anything that a new pet owners should know. I did the research myself to find out how to exercise this pup and get her down to a healthy weight. Per my own research I successfully got her down to a better weight with diet and exercise. Unfortunately due to the long-term of her being obese and her former owners allowing her to jump and not providing ramps for this pup she had an existing spinal condition that I was completely unaware of. After a quick vacation to my family's place down the cape my dog started showing signs of discomfort and pain. I rushed home from Cape Cod to have her looked at by my vet. I was told she was okay I was sent home with pain meds and told to put her into the crate and let her rest. Within 2 hours I took her out to go pee and my poor little girl could not stand up. She lost all mobility in her lower limbs. I rushed her to Everett VCA for the second time in one day and I was told I needed to take her immediately to the emergency room. With my research I knew time was of the essence. By the time I got her to Angell Memorial found a way to pay the $5,000 fee to have operated on it was too late. My dog suffered through a surgery an entire week of hospitalization just to lose her ability to hold her urine and her poops and the involuntary actions of breathing swallowing and heart beating. My dog died in my arms. All of this could have been prevented if I was educated by the vet who happens to be the lead vet at the Everett VCA dr. Second issue which made me leave them why is my male dog, a Dachshund mix, had an audit growth on the side of his body. I brought him in and told it was a lipoma and would cost me close to $3,000 have this cancerous tumor removed. I blindly believed this vet. I scheduled the surgery. But my dog was deemed by this vet to have a heart murmur and prior to that he needed an EKG. They never told me just needed to be scheduled prior to the surgery. This was God intervening to save me anguish. On the day I had scheduled to take my dog in for surgery I had to take the day off from work reschedule clients and then employ somebody else to pick him up once he was done. Because EKG wasn't scheduled we couldn't do the surgery. I had called another vet got him in on the same day to find out it wasn't a lipoma it was a papilloma. Which means a wart. Due to the bumbling nature of the front desk of the Everett VCA my dog and I were saved from the expense of a surgery and my dog being put under anesthesia. To add insult to injury on the same day of the surgery after it couldn't be performed because of the EKG and was rescheduled to another day, I received a phone call asking me how my dog was doing... The hand doesn't know what the arm is doing.
