VCC: Pier View - Reproductive Health Services Near Me - Oceanside, California

I have noticed that others are experiencing similar issues with obtaining their medical records from VCC. It's been over a month since I submitted my request, but they still can't seem to understand it, much less show any willingness or effort to fulfill it. VCC used to be a great facility, but that no longer appears to be the case. Empty PDFs, absolutely no knowledge of how to manage PDF settings, etc. One of them even told me that if I could not open the PDF, it was my system, not theirs. VCC used to be a great place, but not anymore. read more

Tried to enroll my son to a primary physician through VCC but the process was too confusing. My son is insured through fepblue federal employee blue cross blue shield and is coming from Texas to California. I went on the fepblue website which was printed on my insurance card and VCC was an option. When I called I explained he was insured through fep blue (bluecross/blueshield) The lady on the phone kept asking if he had a VCC card I said no I'm trying to enroll him. I then explained how I got the enrollment number and how VCC was an approved clinic. She then said I understand does he have a VCC card again I said no and she repeated then I have to look him up very kurtly then proceeded to ask about medi-cal and medi-care after I told her he has fepblue as if everything I said was a waste of time. I told her I'd find a different clinic and ended up going with truecare who easily enrolled my son and they were very courteous and professional. I do not recommend VCC if you have other clinic options. They only ask you about medi-cal or medi-care and won't listen if you tell them VCC accepts more than medi-cal or medi-care. I can only imagine how bad they talk to their patients. read more

Had an appointment after waiting 2 months to get in. I was told that my doctor had called out sick and they tried contacting me. Well, I look and 0 phone calls or text messages and she tells me if I wait another 20-40 minutes I might get in with a different doctor. I wait about half an hour, get told they can see me but it's with Andrea Baldwin. I had a video appointment with her months ago and she was rude so I was NOT looking forward to meeting her in person. I waited another 40 minutes before she came in finally to speak with me. Whole time she seemed like she was just directly reading off her monitor and kept looking at her phone: She immediately brought up my weight which was irrelevant, asks what is the reason why I'm here. I explain what's wrong, an infection, and she's like "okay what about your blood sugar and weight". What? Then I bring up a sleep test I had done and possibly getting a CPAP machine and she says "There are other solutions like sleeping on your side or weight loss" okay great, but I need a solution NOW and I can't lose weight if I have no energy from a sleep disorder... She had zero bed side manners, unfriendly, short, rude. She was extremely judgmental because I told her I smoked and acted all weird and high and mighty about it, which again irrelevant to why I was there. I tell her I would like a doctors note for work and she is like okay I'll be right back and then a nurse comes in and I ask where my doctor went and she tells me she has to see another patient. Oh okay nice, not like I wasn't done asking my doctor questions after waiting two months to establish this appointment. I get my summary back from my doctor, she doesn't prescribe me a single thing for my infection but instead gives me sleep meds and a WEIGHT LOSS medication. My entire summary was ALL about my weight and nothing about my infection was noted ANYWHERE. Absolutely horrible doctor with zero passion or care for her patients. Prepare to be judged and feel like you're bothering someone who's doing their job. read more

Dr. Tyler Christie, his assistant Christian, and Gino who did my blood work. All around excellent. All of my concerns were addressed efficiently, and carefully. Positive and gently. God bless Adversely, and unfortunately, my husband who also had his first appointment at VCC today, at the same time as myself, had the polar opposite experience with the physician, Dr. MacMurray. Poorly dressed, filthy shoes, coughing and sneezing constantly, condescending, didn't listen to the purpose of my husband's visit in the first place. Dr. MacMurray was so disrespectful that my husband ended their visit early and excuse himself from the building. Never felt more neglected and rushed by a doctor. She met me once and was instantly treating me like a hypochondriac, dismissing everything I was bringing up with my health concerns -Doesn't even look at what i was worried about even after dismissing. Says she gave me a pulmonology referral and when I get to scheduling- THE REFERRAL DOESNT EVEN EXIST. This woman had the nerve to say "well i have other patients to see, is that it?". Sounds like you have doctors with fake degrees if they arent doing what their job is supposed to be. Address and examine your patients, let alone their concerns!!! If i could give no stars I would. Worst treatment I've ever seen in my life.The Dr McMurray is an complete certified mental case he looked at me and stated without any chart or examination and I quote You're not disabled your unemployed and that I couldn't qualify for an portable oxygen machine and said you're oxidation is @95%at room open air without even putting the testing on my finger and I have COPD and emphysema but he refused to sign my paperwork and I said f u when he said that I wasn't disabled and cussing me out with the F-word acted like he was going to punch me so I left since then I received a notification from VCC not to come back and they hated white men read more

If I could give zero, I would. This is hands down the WORST medical clinic I have ever been to. I am 52 years old and I have never experienced such awful service. Nobody ever picks up the phone. The wait time is more than an hour just to schedule an appointment. And the representatives have attitude. Not only that, I was told by one of their nurse practitioners (Andrea Baldwin) during a physical that I could ask her 2 questions maximum. What??? Trust those who Yelp regularly... Staff here is poorly trained in several areas. Doctors make repeated mistakes, which have cost me over $1,600 in unnecessary expenses. Scheduled appointment times mean nothing. I scheduled an appointment a week ahead of time, and waited 2.5 HOURS before the doctor saw me... for 5 minutes. DANGER!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM, I've been going there for over 10 years, so I do have a little experience with this place, Dr Macmurray told me I had cataracts, had my eyes checked no cataracts, said I had 20/30 vision, had eye test done elsewhere it was 20/20, he told me my hearing was not good, again had it checked elsewhere, my hearing perfect, not a good doctor. Went in for a physical with Dr Miller, never got any results back from the physical, thought everything was good, I found out that I was pre diabetic from my health insurance, I would think that would be a good thing to let a person know, and also be prepared to wait a least a hour plus after you appointment time, even by phone. All in all, I will have a new provider on Dec. 1st, can't wait, finally a Doctor's office that will be more concerned about my health then there bank account. read more

I've been going here for almost a decade. After my doctor retired, I was worried and had severe anxiety about finding another doctor that UNDERSTANDS and listens. Dr. MacMurray is amazing. I'm so happy he's my new doctor. My history is complicated but he fully listened and knows exactly what I'm dealing with. I'm so relieved to have found a doctor that I'm comfortable with and that I can be completely honest and open with. The doctor/patient relationship is one of the most important relationships in our lives and I like to stay with the same doctor for as long as possible. As long as Dr. MacMurray practices, I'll be his patient. read more

I had a 2:45pm appointment, but I arrived 10 minutes early to check in. I quickly finished their paperwork, but the receptionist staff could not figure out how to check in my Blue Shield PPO insurance. They were rude and unprofessional to my husband and myself, calling us up to their desk SEVEN times to ask us questions. It seemed like they have no idea what they are doing. The paper work itself was so ridiculous. An entire page with dozens of questions asking what gender you are. I've never seen anything like this. Then came an entire page pushing vaccinations for adults and children. When they finally put me in a room they left me waiting so long we finally had to leave without being seen. We had been there an hour and ten minutes past my appointment time. NEVER AGAIN. Unprofessional, unfriendly, they don't respect their patient's appointment times at all. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 1:30 p.m. it is now 3 p.m. and I am still waiting to see the doctor. One of the nurses just came in to give me my paperwork from my visit, she said quote here is paperwork from your appointment you're all ready to go end quote. This place is the absolute worst. I wrote a review a month ago about that experience. Now they are harassing me about scheduling a procedure that I dont need. I told the Dr who recommended the procedure that I didn't need it. And instead of taking a proper history he put in my chart that i did. I've tried calling the office. I sat on hold for 15 minutes just to get sent to voicemail. This place can rot in the deepest darkest parts of hell. To any "business manager " that feels the need to reply, just dont. Pros. Cheap and they take medical Recently remodeled clean Cons. Rude staff, self centered staff, Manger is rude and expect you to answer her phone calls even though they are only offering things that are not going to work. I stopped responding to the phone calls because despite knowing my limitations they kept offering outside my availability. So talking really getting no where. Always busy reminder system not working, automated never recieved a reminder call, manual unable to reschedule appointment promptly never talked to my doctor during this ordeal to many hips to jump through just to get an RX Overall. Run away if you can, I'm still going to a vista community clinic but I opted for one closer to home. Not worth a drive, maybe if you could walk and you don't have a job, or a life, or kids, or plan to do anything but wait and have a rude experience. Then go for it. read more

Everything was great except for the wait time. But honestly, it's a clinic so you can't expect more. So my appointment was for my ears and it was scheduled for 11am. I was seen at about 1140 or so. The girls at the front were very nice. The doctor- Macmurray, I believe- honestly best doctor ever! Was very honest and helpful. Gave me close to an hour of his time. He looked up costs for my meds and is saving me $176/monthly! I also spoke to him about losing weight and he talked me through EXACTLY what I should do. Made perfect sense and it was specific. Usually doctors won't even talk to you for long and give you generic answers. He also solved my ear problems and gave me a kit to take home bc I told him how much I'm in the water. Honestly this doctor was brilliant, professional (with no fluff) and VERY helpful. read more

This clinic is so disorganized. I had taken a TBT and they didn't put it in their system and when I asked for a Health screening report for my job they had me wait for 4 hours and the receptionist said they would call me but they didn't bother to call me, I called them and they told me that the doctor couldn't fill the report because my TBT wasn't in the system and they didn't know if I had my results and when I asked as to why they didn't let me know earlier they said "we don't know" and "sorry" and after that they still made me wait 30 more minutes. Very unsatisfied with this clinic. We need people working there that care about the community. read more

I had a 9:15 am appointment for a yearly physical. Reception staff was very unfriendly. The place was freezing! I was made to wait 40 minutes with only a paper sheet covering me. I was surprised not to come out of there sick!! I asked for very basic tests (general STD and general bloodwork) which I always ask for at physical exams & never had an issue with. This Dr kept asking me questions to try to get me to rescind my request, and then made me wait another 40 minutes to get that. Earlier when I checked in, a woman was telling the receptionist that the bathroom was out of TP. It was still out when I went to use it 30 minutes later. A fellow patient handed me a box of tissues while it took staff about 30 minutes to finally locate some TP. Never coming back here!!! read more

Pros - When I got to see a doctor, both were competent and professional - The NP I saw when I couldn't see a doctor was also competent and professional - Once the medical professional arrived they took time with me to listen and discuss options, staying 8-10 minutes - Nursing staff kind, gentle and also competent - Friendly front desk staff, knowledgeable about insurance questions and issues - NP Jill Elliott - Dr. Penn and Dr. MacMannus Cons - Wait times are excruciating I've waited 45 to 120 minutes, after arriving 15 min early, try to get the earliest appointment possible; only once have I been moved to a room within 30 minutes of my appointment, it still took 45 to be seen by the MD - Getting an appointment with the same practitioner is difficult, I've been seen by 5 different practitioners (MDs and NPs) for what has become an ongoing condition over the past 8 weeks, seeing number 6 tomorrow bc I can't get in to see my GP until September - You may also need to go to a different location just to be seen by an NP or MD if you need a same day appointment - Was told that referrals processing was taking up to 4 weeks, that's from the time the doctor puts in the referrals to the VCC referral office to the time they call you with the doctor's name, they're currently "backed-up" I want to give a higher score because I know that they are working with a crappy system that pays them very little and they are trying to make money via volume. I still think there could be some better time management and organization. read more

While the wait was very long (over an hour with an appointment), the receptionists were nice and doctor MacMurray was the best. He really took his time which I greatly appreciated, I left feeling like I was in good hands. The woman that took my vitals was somewhat unprofessional as she walked away when I asked her a question and did not speak clearly. I was told one thing by not one, but TWO different staff members, one being front reception and the other being an actual provider, to then being given the run around and being told something completely different. As a patient I do NOT appreciate being fed bullshit to buy yourselves more time to fix whatever the hell it is you need to do because people aren't doing their jobs. This is people's health and lives on the line, and I find it deplorable that this was my first experience with this place. I had an awesome experience with the Ernest Williamson DC. I had been experiencing back pain and was worried I would need something extensive like surgery, medication,or a complete lifestyle change to help fix the problem. After my first adjustment I felt like a weight had been lifted off my lower back. I could barely believe the pain and pressure were almost gone! The best part was that Williamson recommended I continue with the same activities I enjoy doing so I didn't have to give up the gym. He was also very professional and empathetic. It is rare these days to got to a doctor and not feel rushed or like they are interested in really hearing all your concerns. I felt like my goals were heard and addressed during my visit. I had a great experience here today. I just switched insurance plans and was assigned to VCC. They were kind, polite, friendly, and intelligent. The facility is clean and nice and all of the nurses and staff are very forthcoming with information. I wanna seen by Trudy Cohen who was extremely helpful, and eased my concerns. She also took the time to really make sure that I understood the information I was given and she was very intelligent and thorough. I had no idea whether or not I would continue with VCC but I definitely will now. read more

I just changed medical insurance, and my health care picked VCC as my primary care provider. I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews, however yesterday I decided to call their office to set up an appointment. They sound very polite and nice, they scheduled me for today at 11:15, so I took it and went to the office today for an initial visit. The place is nothing fancy, but is very clean and well maintained. The receptionist was professional and courteous, she ask me for ID, insurance cards, and she took care of the check in process very efficiently. I asked her if I should go and sit in the waiting area, and she said that the nurse would arrive shortly to take me in. Instantly the nursed opened the door and called my name. Adriana was very cordial, she did all the vital signs and ask me to wait in the room for the Nurse Practitioner. As I was thinking how lucky I was to have hardly waited at all, NP Skopek walked in with his assistant Mercedes. We went over my medical history focusing on records transfers, medications and with attention to future care. This all I wished for and nothing I did not need. After he dedicated the time necessary to establish a plan, he turned me over to Araceli for blood work. She was super nice and she drew my blood in few minutes. Maybe today was just my lucky day, however I feel that I need to share my awesome experience with all the staff at VCC. read more
