First time at Veekoo, Bryn Mawr. Needed to find a restaurant that had Vegan and carnivore options. I thought about chinese but found Veekoo with a fusion menu. Enjoyed Christmas dinner at Veekoo. The service was excellent and timely. Had a leisurely meal which was perfect as we wanted to talk. I had the triple delight in a tangerine sauce which was perfect. My dinner mate had the Pad Thai which she enjoyed very much. Portions were large so I get to enjoy tomorrow. I have no complaints whatsoever. Will be back soon read more

Overall quality of the food was very good, but a couple of items came out lukewarm (Mapo Tofu & General Tso's - which makes sense considering the below experience but I was too hungry to say anything and cause a fuss). When we arrived, half our party was already seated and hadn't been attended to yet with beverages - took an additional 10-ish minutes after we were seated to flag down our designated server for assistance. I want to preface that the server did seem to have tried their best and was in no way entirely responsible for their performance, she was a trooper and pleasant the entire evening. The restaurant had only 2 active servers working the dining room, with 9-12 tables consistently occupied throughout our time there. Splitting 5-6 tables per server is typically very advanced in such a setting, server sections are normally a little smaller so they can properly attend to each table. To balance this out, there were seemingly 4 active managers on the floor, 3 towards the end of our meal as it seemed like they joined a neighboring group. The managers were definitely working, however seemed way more focused on tending to a special group of guests, rather than supporting the servers who were clearly struggling to keep up their tables. We ordered the Lettuce wraps, Chili Dumplings, Edamame, Tuna Sundae, Sushi Sashimi Combo, Mayo Tofu, General Tso's, and an Eel Roll for our apps/entrees. The Sushi was very clean/fresh, and well prepped to be very enjoyable. All other items were delicious and loved the option to keep the Mayo Tofu on the more mild side as it's traditionally very spicy. I was surprised to see in a nice restaurant presenting quality sushi to have "White Tuna" aka Escolar which isn't even in the Tuna family. There's not such thing as "White Tuna", commonly Escolar is a cheap fish that your digestive system cannot properly process so people can often become ill after consuming - not going to deep dive but def do your research before eating "White Tuna". Now, not that I believe it matters, but currently pregnant & was starving so I did not share my feedback directly with the female manager. I just wanted to enjoy the evening with our family and eat. It unfortunately wasn't towards the end of the meal, where I was full and now tired to go home, when the female manager table touched to check in where we've been waiting for our server to peer at the dessert options/just grab the check. She was very kind and apologized for the wait and did offer a dessert on the house for the inconvenience of waiting, but we were too tired after eating well and they didn't really have much Asian inspired desserts - more geared towards American options except the mochi ice cream. Ultimately I would not hesitate to return, the food itself was very good and definitely well prepared. Everyone is entitled to some "off days" and I will not hold that against their performance on our experience, especially given the circumstances of staffing difficulties across the board, but if it is a consistent issue that does become a concern that would alter our choice to return. read more

The spot is very nice. The decor is really stylish. Unfortunately the Resturant is a little small so that tables aren't intimate for a date. But I would definitely recommend for family or girls night out. The food was really good. Sushi was fantastic. Rick shrimp were great. Definitely would visit again. BYOB so that's a plus. I can't believe I'm about to leave this place a five star review and I'll explain what I mean. My husband and I visited without realizing what we were in for, we mapped directions to a different sushi place maybe a block away and ended up here. As soon as we walked in, we were wowed by the ambience. Muted and subtle yet elegant decor greeted us in the dining area, so we knew we were in for a pricey meal. We ordered a shrimp tempura roll, a signature roll, a Thai basil entree and one soft drink and it came out to $55 after tax without tip. The service wasn't so hot, but it wasn't bad either. So why 5 stars? The FOOD! The quality of the sushi was probably some of the highest I have ever had. EVER. My husband, who doesn't typically partake in Japanese cuisine (or really any oriental food) LOVED it! He could not stop going on about how delicious his food was. One of the rolls had eel on it and it was extremely fresh, not fishy, gamey taste! If you have money to splurge, splurge here! Highly recommend! read more

Veekoo is tremendous. It is a Pan Asian Fusion Restaurant with many items Chinese and Japanese The sushi is excellent as is every item on the menu that we have tried. I highly recommend you try this location. They also have a location in Berwyn and Phoenixville Pennsylvania. The music is low and soothing which is really nice if you want to chat with your friends at the table. Very good wait staff. read more

Great place for a family dinner, date night or a girls dinner! The waiters are extremely friendly and service is pretty quick. It is BYOB so bring as much as you want they will pour you up! Had a young kid as a server. Ordinarily that wouldn't be an issue, as long as he is a good server. This kid was not. Had to be reminded to bring sugar out for our tea. There was a very loud large table in the restaurant. The table was so loud that one of our party members turned off his hearing aid. I mentioned something to the server. He said nothing and nothing was done to ask the other table to lower the volume. Ordered the seafood banquet ($32) and the menu indicated it would have some heat. It didn't. In fact the flavor was mediocre. Server "auctioned" off the food when it came out, meaning, rather than place the food in front of the person who ordered it, he simply called out the dish and waited for the person who ordered it to answer up. Had crème brûlée for desert. It was okay. Spoke with other members of our party of 6 and their opinion was, "It was okay." Traveled an hour to this restaurant and won't do that again. This restaurant's community must be desperate for Asian cuisine because I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Too many other really good places. Sorry, won't be back and don't recommend it. This was my first time at this restaurant. Food & service overall was very good. Loved the atmosphere. My only complaint was the edamame portion. For $8.00 they served about 20 or 25 edamame in a small bowl that worked out to about 5 pieces per person. Will not be ordering that again! I also did not like their reservation system that requested a credit card to hold the table. read more

Clean, hip interior with well spaced tables. Lunch specials are excellent with soup and an entree. Hot and sour soup was very good and the Hunan chicken used very fresh ingredients. The service was terrific with lunch food out fast. Hot tea is made from real tea leaves, not a teabag. Can't wait to try Veekoo for dinner. read more

Sushi was mediocre and the uni was a bit past its prime. Service was excellent although the restaurant is a bit noisy.

Its a nice atmosphere but the food is average at best. I had steamed pork dumplings to start. The pork had no flavor and the dumpling was thick which I hate. My wife had spicy tuna roll and she said nothing special. I got a specialty roll which was ok and my wife got bok choy in garlic. You could not taste the garlic. It was basically steamed with white rice. No flavor. There are other places locally for better sushi. read more

Great sushi and noodle entrees! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Even the side dishes are delicious, personal favorite is the string bean stir fry. We've been going to the one in Royersford and really enjoy it. Food is fresh, delicious, although, the staff can be odd and somewhat rude. We decided to try Bryn Mawr for lunch yesterday. Where to begin? We walked in and immediately noticed a "funny" fishy smell right by the entrance. Kind of gross really, but okay, maybe they're preparing sushi and that's it? Never smell anything in Royersford and they have much more fish by the entrance. Then our waitress was horrible. She wasn't helpful, warm or welcoming. She was robotic and a bit nasty. Our food was awful. Our scallion pancake was soaked in grease.... sitting on wilted, brown lettuce. Our corn/crab soup was tasteless, kind of gross really. I didn't eat mine. Our stir fry barely had any sauce......the best part of a good stir fry! When we left, we noticed the same horrible odor by the entrance/exit. Terrible! I'd give Royersford the highest rating and this place a zero if I could! read more
