Stopped in to Baba's for dinner today being on their side of town. Love how his food is always filling delicious and feels good to my soul. The service always a pleasure. And the cafe always has high energy vibes. Ordered my classic, Baba's Soul Plate with a fresh Coconut Water and the Strawberry Cream dessert. All delicious. And ai give Gratitude and Thanks to Baba's and staff for yet again another delicious (and healing) meal experience.

Great food, kind people, and such a peaceful atmostphere. It was my first time visiting and I find it so refreshing compared to other vegan spots i've been to. The restaraunt is small and they seem short staffed so try to come in with extra patience :) I had the build-your-own bowl with the mushroom fritters & the nachos, both were amazing!! I also feel like the prices were not crazy expensive like other vegan restaurants (especially in LA). Overall, I had a great experience and I'm definitely coming back again!

First time and really liked the food. Street parking on a residential area. Walked in and the area had seating space to eat or wait . They had a small boutique to purchase items. The person taking my order was very nice and helped me with the menu. Once I decided I used my apple pay card. The food is made to order but I didn't wait long. I sat and ate and the food was delicious. Seasoned well and fresh ingredients. They a plate specials, bowls, salads and a dessert, drinks and snacks. I will be back or DoorDash. Good eats in the Neigorhood!

Vegan health food that is also cheap is unheard of these days. Even if you don't like soul food, this is a place you have to check out at least once. Dining here is an experience of its own. FOOD Welcome Bowl ($12 for regular size): First of all, the portions are extremely generous for the price. We got the regular size instead of the large, and it was still more than enough for a single person. The bowl comes with various carbs and vegetables, and they're seasoned to perfection. Each bite is juicy and explodes with flavor. It does the word soul food justice. Lentil patty ($11): So good. The patty is closer to a healthy veggie patty instead of those super processed vegan meats. The mustard sauce inside is super yummy and complements the veggies and patty nicely. The sandwich tastes very "healthy". SERVICE You order at a counter. They accept cash and card. You sit down, and they bring your food to a table. The person at the register was really nice and acted like she truly cared about her customers. She answered all of our questions and guided us when we seemed confused. The kitchen was a bit slow to bring out the food, but that's usually a good sign that a restaurant is putting care into their cooking, and not cutting corners and taking shortcuts. FACILITIES/INTERIOR They have a restroom in the back. Just follow the hallway to the right of the counter. It was clean and everything was stocked properly. The interior is super casual and homey. I love that they incorporated cultural aspects into the decor. I also thought it was cool that they sold various different products like deodorant, candles, and even clothes!

Not bad for vegan food. I loved the oyster mushroom! They really killed this. Everything was a unique flavor. The Mac and cheese was good as well. Would love to get the fried oyster mushrooms again!

Food is amazing all alkaline options all throughout the menu, my definition of real food. Made fresh and the atmosphere is amazing a lot of other things that's available for purchase. If you're vegan and in LA you got to stop by and show BaBa some love

Went with my brother to Babas. He had a taste for some vegan soul food and Babas kept coming up on his TikTok feed, so he was determined to try them. I was trying to persuade him to try Crystals Soul Cafe-my fav-but we ended up trying something new for both of us. I was kinda sick, so perhaps my tastebuds were off, but I didn't taste much seasoning in anything-just salt and pepper. The food here is healthy, non-processed, which is great. I'm familiar with whole, plant-based, soul food. From Stuff I Eat, to Simply Wholesome and others...I've tried a good amount of it. This wasn't my favorite. We also both got a slice of their chocolate cake. I took it as is-no drizzle, no cream filling, icing, etc. but he mentioned he saw videos of it online with some type of icing. It tasted like a healthy slice of chocolate cake-nothing more, nothing less. Not too sweet, just a hint of sweetness really. We didn't dine in. I didn't see a lot of space inside. As you can see from some of the pics, there's a lot going on inside. We ordered pretty late and to go, so we ate immediately out in the car. I'm willing to go back earlier and try something else just to make sure my cold hadn't fooled my tastebuds.

Holy moly I just came her for a plate of soul food and was BLOWN AWAY. I've had soul food in atlanta. Memphis. KY. New Orleans and even washington. This was probably the best. Wow. Make sure you try. Cool spot. Nice people too.

I had seen this place featured somewhere but never looked to see where it was exactly. My friend and I were just down further on Western and decided to come here afterwards. It's a great little spot with what seems to be local artists' clothing, accessories and more. We were greeted and didn't feel rushed to order while we figured out what we wanted. The food was so yummy. I only took a pic of my friend's plate, Baba's Kale Salad. My friend especially liked the walnut pâté. I had the lentil patty sandwich and it was so hearty and comforting. Definitely would come here again.

He told me they didn't have chickpea tuna but couldn't bother to refund the curry soup! Strange....

On Saturday, Feb 28, 2026, I came right at closing (7pm) and they weren't closed nor were they closing? I'm not complaining. I saw a whole cockroach and it didn't smell very nice! There was no music and the energy of the place was stale. I like that the clerk answered all my questions and made it easy for me to order. I'm cheap so $38 is just a bit much for me for the experience that I had, more like $20? The "Build A Bowl" was PATHETIC for $12, more like $7! I guess they were tired. I will definitely be going back for the potato chowder and some more desserts. I'm mad that they only make a little bit of sauce because I asked for a side of cheese sauce( bcimanobssessivefoodiefatback) but No there not enough for that!! Boooooo1that crimcrim(criminal!). They need to update the decor and atmosphere. It's hit or miss for me. The NASTY AF YAMS and the disrespectful Lentil Soup replacement pissed me tf OFF!! BUT sooooo wut babyimmafatbackandilovemesomegoodolveganfood. Thanks Baba Vegan Cafe ( havesomepattiesandsomeegusiformenexttimedoe)

Baba's Vegan Cafe has helped my gut health and has overall made lunch a better experience. I have severe food allergies and this place makes delicious whole food for a great price. My go-to is the soul platter. The fried oyster mushrooms are to die for!! I never knew mushrooms could be so filling. The vibes in the place are absolutely amazing as well. Great Neo-Soul music playing, making the eating experience top tier. Please give this little hidden gem a try.

Um, what?! How is this vegan?! Whatever meat alternative they used, the texture was perfect. Also amazing seasonings and sauces. It was packed with flavor and lots of veggies. And it was super filling, too! I also grabbed a coconut water cause I need my electrolytes. I took my meal to-go, but kind of regretted it because the inside is so cute! Retro diner chic. But the first night I went to Crossroads Kitchen with a group of friends, I was genuinely blown away. I've been wanting to try Crossroads Kitchen for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally made it…read more While the ambiance and décor evoke the warmth of an old-school steakhouse or classic Italian restaurant, the food is anything but traditional. It offers a fresh, modern take on vegan Italian cuisine. Drinks & Appetizers We started with two cocktails: the Strawberry Girl (alcoholic) and the Let It Be (non-alcoholic). Both were excellent. For appetizers, we ordered the Moroccan Cigars, served with a light, tangy yogurt-style dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. The cigars themselves were delicate, filled with plant-based meat, and lightly fried. Think of an elevated, artisanal taquito. A perfect lead-in to the main course. Entrées We ordered two dishes: the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka with the chicken Parmesan add-on, and the Spicy Meatball Pizza. Pro tip: absolutely add the chicken Parmesan to the rigatoni. The vodka sauce was bold and spicy without overpowering the dish, and the chicken Parm was beautifully cooked with excellent texture, a natural and well-balanced pairing. The pizza was exceptional. True to its name, there was a meatball in nearly every bite. It's topped with ricotta and dusted with parmesan, and we added red chili flakes for an extra kick. The crust is very thin and artisanal, and every component, the marinara, meatballs, sausage, ricotta, and parmesan, worked in perfect harmony. The dough alone is worth finishing every last piece. Dessert We ended with the Brownie Sundae, which was the one minor letdown of the evening. The ice cream appeared to have been pre-scooped, as it was quite firm with visible ice crystals, not ideal. The brownie itself, however, was absolutely delicious, though the portion felt a bit small relative to the dish as a whole. Overall, the sundae was just okay. I'd likely skip it next time and explore other dessert options. Service & Atmosphere The service was fantastic, and the overall ambiance was warm and inviting. The pacing of the meal was particularly impressive. Drinks, appetizers, entrées, and dessert all arrived at just the right tempo. Nothing felt rushed, and nothing lingered too long. Parking There is no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Crossroads is located on Melrose Avenue, a busy shopping district with heavy foot traffic and limited street parking. That said, we visited on a Sunday afternoon and found street parking without much trouble. If spots near the restaurant are taken, driving a few blocks into the surrounding neighborhood usually turns up more options, just be prepared for a short walk. Plan your arrival time accordingly to avoid any parking stress. Overall, Crossroads Kitchen delivered on every front. Creative food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend, with the rigatoni and pizza as must-orders.

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.

But the BEST part? The names of the dishes. "I Am Well," "I Am Grateful," "I Am Light"... and when your server brings your food they lovingly announce: "You are well." Honestly, being affirmed by a stranger while handed organic vegan food healed at least 37% of my problems. I came for lunch and accidentally left spiritually moisturized. If you want delicious fully vegan organic food, positive vibes, and the experience of being gently complimented by your salad, this place is IT.
