This place leans fully into plant-based cuisine--and does it well. The food is flavorful, sometimes even a bit overwhelming depending on the dish, so it's a great idea to share a few plates to balance things out and try more variety. For a vegan menu, everything I've tried has been satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The food was pretty good. My favorite was the orange chicken. It was crispy and sweet but not too sweet where it's over powering. The eggplant tofu was a staff recommendation and it did not disappoint! It was so flavorful and tasty. I know tofu can be hard to cook because of the texture and taste but this was really good!! I also had the noodles and chicken fried rice and it was also very tasty. The noodles were okay but the fried rice was really yummy. I also got a green mango tea and it was very very good. First time at this location only to find out Monday 9/8 will be their last day!! :( It's no wonder they were "out of" so many things -- cucumber salad, oyster mushrooms, and green beans. I'm sad to see Vegan District go (especially after they closed the Anaheim location) because they're so much better than the nearby dumpling place. Sadly more people prefer meat dishes and will keep them in business, but I digress. Food was good and mostly on par with the Anaheim restaurant, but service was lukewarm here. You could tell they were in the winding down mode as things were not replenished or offered, you had to ask for a lot of things (water, chili sauce, chopsticks). I really enjoyed the vegetable wonton soup, it was a big bowl and plenty hot, but too oily. The wontons were a little undercooked (thicker skin), but still I was thrilled to be able to savor this soup way deep in the IE, it's a little bit of vegetarian heaven! The walnut shrimp was on point and another dish that's hard to find vegan. The eggplant tofu however was not cooked evenly and not as flavorful as it should have been. We've been trying to come to this location throughout August, but their hours were challenging and they don't open on Saturdays. Vegan District Asian Eatery is one of my favorite restaurants in the Loma Linda area. At this point, I've dined and ordered takeout countless times. They never disappoint in freshness and flavor. I was GENUINELY surprised at how good my takeout meal was from here. I actually regret not trying this place sooner. I've passed it a couple of times and today I called in a takeout order. Vegan District is such a fun and unexpected addition to San Bernardino. I was there at their grand opening and they had their stuff together from day one! Food has always been flavorful, non-greasy, and 100% vegan. The taste is similar to their sister restaurant House of Fortune in Chino. Both are fantastic, but Vegan District's menu is a little less extensive. My favorite appetizer is the BBQ pork. It doesn't taste much like char siu as the sauce is just too different, but the sauce is sweet and spiced so it's delicious regardless. I love a good slab of seitan and this one is light and refreshing thanks to the absence of all of the fat that's in pork belly, and a very good value overall. Another must try item is the fried oyster mushroom dish. They come out so crisp and light, with so much umami and the aroma of basil. It is pricey, but it's so good I have to get it every time! I order the same dish from Happy Family vegetarian restaurant as well (it's a little cheaper), but I strongly prefer the Vegan District version, as it's less greasy, egg-free, better salted, and more flavorful. My favorite entree is the General Tso's mushrooms. They are battered and fried mushrooms tossed in a sweet sticky sauce. The portion is pretty generous, but I'd love if you could order entrees without rice. Loving Hut in Redlands offers choice of rice or salad; I would definitely appreciate that same option here too. Vegan District also apparently offers the elusive Yo Egg vegan poached egg, which I'm excited to try on my next visit. Overall, love this restaurant for a quick lunch after hitting the gym. Main issue is the price point, an issue that I think management is already aware of because they've already lowered their menu prices once. Unfortunately, it's still a bit pricey, so I can't afford to go too often despite how much I like the place. Hubby and I were excited to attend the restaurant's grand opening which included lion dancers from the San Gabriel Valley Cultural Association's. Having not eaten cream cheese wontons since becoming vegan in 2009, I was elated to see these on their menu. The restaurant owners are very responsive on social media and replied with the same day regarding a question I asked about menu items with nuts. There are only two items on the menu that has nuts which are the Walnut shrimp, Kung Pow Chicken and Kung Pow Tofu. In addition, I appreciated that the menu items containing nuts are indicated by a "nuts" icon on their menu in the restaurant Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the store owners. The outside of the restaurant has lots of ample seating. Once inside the restaurant, I pleased by well put together appearance of the restaurant. The overall look is bright and airy and has a very cosmopolitan feel. Hubby said the look of the restaurant is claiming and this a great place to come and destress while eating delicious food. I also appreciated the clear allergy sign placed next to the order counter. We started out with cream cheese wontons, BBQ pork, and Szechuan wontons for appetizers. The wontons were light, sweet and creamy served with sweet and sour sauce. The BBQ pork was tender and the Szechuan wontons was spicy and served in a bowl with broth . For our main dishes, we had General Tso Mushroom with brown rice, eggplant tofu with brown rice and vegan shrimp chow mein. Hubby said the mushroom dish was good. The vegan shrimp chow mein was fresh and the vegetables were crispy. The eggplant tofu was soft and flavorful when served in a brown sauce. For dessert, I had a slice of vegan strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was sweet and provided a refreshing end to our meal. Hubby also enjoyed having a iced Jasmine green milk tea with red popping pearls. I've been here a few times and each time, am Pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. It's located near loma Linda hospital so it's super convenient for me. For vegan food, it's very very good. And their meat substitutes are quite similar to eating real meat. My favorite dishes are the crispy oyster mushrooms and the eggplant tofu as you can see from my pictures. Their beef and broccoli is also very good. We also tried their pouched "egg" and surprisingly tasted like a real egg in terms of taste and texture. The service is quite fast. I usually come during lunch time on weekdays. I order at the counter and sit down and wait for my food to come out. It usually takes about 10 minutes. It's usually fairly quiet when I come and most of the time, my group is the only group in the restaurant. Also, I suggest for them not to serve any peanuts on their kung pao but rather cashew nuts just like any other Chinese restaurant since there's a likely hood that an allergic (to peanuts) customer can get their food contaminated and we will have a bigger issue. The food here tastes good, however they are abysmal with regards to customer service. They often times are too busy to fulfill orders and this has happened numerous times. You'll see each of their dishes is $20 dish and you have a 50/50 chance of getting it delivered. If they are busy, they will give you messages of delays and then suddenly cancel without warning (delivery time of 5:45pm, cancellation notice sent to my phone through grub hub at 6:05pm). Once upon our arrival we were immediately seated. We ordered the cream cheese wontons as appetizers. The. Sweet and sour tofu and beef broccoli. My niece enjoyed the wontons and said it was very tasty. We split the other dishes. I didn't care much for the vegan beef, but the sweet and sour tofu was fried lightly and very delicious. The portions were rather small and a bit expensive. There is another restaurant in Chino Hills, so I'm looking forward to try that one since they have the family size portions. I had an excellent experience at Vegan District. I was on a lunch break and happened to be in the area. I actually saw a billboard on the freeway that caught my attention. Service was friendly, and my order came out perfectly. The whole place was really clean, and the food was fantastic! I had the vegan kung pao chicken with brown rice, and it was so good that I even ate the leftovers when I got home. I ordered a mango green tea, which was handmade and fresh. It's nice to know that the food and drink at Vegan District are better for me AND taste great. I also like the fact that they don't allow non-vegan food in the restaurant. They are serious about being entirely plant-based and cruelty-free. I also loved how cute the decor is. Everything is really clean and bright, but comfy. It has a nice aesthetic, with lacquered wood booths and tables, a trendy-looking photo area, and a couple of spots for selfies. It is seriously cute! I am born and still am vegetarian and my family & I eat out often. Today I received notification that they are going to start selling bowls. I was excited to support and try out the new concept. After beginning to place a family lunch order, starting with the orange chicken bowl, I asked if they could remove the chili peppers as I always have one ordering the main dish. He said they cannot remove the chili peppers on this type of order. I asked oh is it because it's premade or premixed? and he said no, it's just "our policy" we have to add the spicy chili peppers for this order. So... it's easy to just not add them, but you have to add them? How does that make common sense?? It doesn't. So I canceled my order. I just discovered this place and I'm glad I did! The food is fresh and delicious! I've tried the orange chicken with brown rice, the chicken chow mein, the shrimp fried rice, the Kung Pao oyster mushroom, and the passion fruit boba. You'd think I've been going to this place a while to have tried all of these but nope. I literally discovered it about a week and a half ago and I've returned quite a bit in that short time. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and decor is really nice and the restaurant is clean. If I'm in Loma Linda, this is where I'm going to eat. I may even make the drive out just to visit. I also like that they have reward cards so that you can earn a meal after a number of purchases. How could I forget! On my first visit, I tried the Eggplant Tofu bowl whcih was also delicious, it had a hint of Oyster sauce or Hoisin sauce flavor with Rice, and eggplant as well.
