Even when I moved out of the area, something still draws me back whenever I come visit! Whether it's the friendly hospitality of the owners or the delicious food, or the beautiful pictures, wall hangings or the full size mannequin in the front door, all the decorations make you feel a bit like you're in Thailand. On to my favorites... one of the most unique and flavorful fried rice that you've probably never had, the mock abalone adds a little crispy chewy texture that is so good. THIS IS A FIRST AND LAST The orange chicken was very dry and so was the muscles. When I told the waitress- She looked at me and said "that's the way we make it" when I asked for more sauce for the muscles she looked at me as if I was asking for her first born child and said NO, No more sauce it 2as cooked in it. WOW! Then she walked away. Humm at any other restaurant a good customer service would have been to offer something else. She told us no and just walked away. Then when we went to leave she smiled and asked how we liked the meal. My mom look at her like REALLY! Mom told her again that she wans not happy with the mussels-they were dry and tasteless. She walked away yelling to someone in the back in another language. Then she came back with the check and said we should have ordered something else. Not good food. Horrible service. I had the pad woon sen lunch special and the red curry lunch special delivered by DD. It was packaged neatly and there were no spills. Pad Woon Sen: Meat choice was chicken. The chicken was sliced thinly and was not dry. The noodles were very flavorful and also not dry, but very saucy. Loved the carrots and broccoli, which were fresh and still had a little crunch. Red Curry: Meat choice was mock chicken. The mock chicken was cut into strips and it was very plentiful along with the veggies. The curry was nice and thick how curry should be and wasn't watered down like most places. Lunch special sides: These two entrees came with salad (or soup if you are eating in) with the sweet mayo dressing, choice of rice (upcharge for fried or brown), and a vegetable egg roll and cream cheese/crab wonton (I think it is real crab not imitation, but please verify with mgmt). I have not been to Rose Apple in over 10 years, it was soon after they first opened. I frequented the previous Thai restaurant that was in the same location and unfortunately didn't give RA another shot. I'm happy that I have returned and I thought everything was delicious. Rose Apple Thai Food came here with my friends right after my midterm and honestly everything hit. we did family style and ordered way too much but every dish was a 10/10; super flavorful, fresh, and comforting. Tom Yum (L) Chicken - this soup came out steaming hot and the aroma alone was insane; spicy, sour, and packed with lemongrass and lime leaf flavor. the broth was light but rich at the same time and the chicken soaked up all that tangy heat perfectly. Tom Kha (S) Chicken - creamy coconut base with that perfect balance of tang from the lime and spice from the chili oil; the mushrooms added a nice earthy bite and the chicken was tender. it felt like comfort in a bowl. Pad See-Ew (Chicken) - thick noodles cooked just right; a little smoky from the wok, coated in savory soy flavor, and paired with crisp broccoli. it's one of those dishes that hits every time and this one was especially good. Massaman Curry (Chicken) - sweet, nutty, and rich; the curry was perfectly thick with tender potatoes and juicy chicken. you could really taste the peanut and coconut milk depth in every bite. Pad Thai (Chicken) - the sauce had that perfect tangy sweetness and it wasn't greasy; noodles had a nice chew and came with crunchy peanuts and a squeeze of lime that tied everything together. Orange Chicken - crispy outside with just the right glaze; the sauce had actual citrus flavor instead of just sugar. it stayed crunchy even with sauce on it which says a lot. Red Curry (Pork, mild) - this one had that classic red curry kick; slightly spicy but creamy and fragrant from the basil and coconut milk. the pork slices were thin and super tender. Sassy Sweet & Sour Pork - perfect balance between tangy and sweet; the bell peppers and pineapple chunks gave it that refreshing crunch and juiciness. Fried Sole Fillet with Basil Sauce (Mild) - one of the standouts; the fish was perfectly fried--crispy on the outside, flaky inside--and the basil sauce added this amazing aroma and light heat that made it addicting. Yellow Curry Chicken (Mild) - comfort in a bowl; creamy, a bit sweet, and full of turmeric flavor. the potatoes soaked up the curry so well and the chicken melted apart. Thai Iced Tea & Fresa Coconut Water (L) - both were great; the thai tea wasn't too sweet and you could actually taste the tea flavor, not just sugar. the coconut water was refreshing and balanced out all the spice from the food. Sweet Sticky Rice & Mango Sticky Rice - ending on the best note possible; the sticky rice was soft and warm, paired with creamy coconut sauce that wasn't overly sweet. the mango was ripe and buttery, making every bite smooth and rich. we got all of this for about $200 which was such a good deal for how much and how high-quality the food was. everything came out fast, the portions were generous, and every single dish tasted freshly made. definitely coming back again; rose apple is officially one of my favorite thai spots now. read more

Rose Apple is hands down my absolute favorite Thai restaurant. What truly sets Rose Apple apart is how they specialize in vegetarian options - especially catering to the SDA community in the area- while still delivering dishes that are bursting with flavor. I often stop by during lunchtime, and while the lunch rush get busy, it's worth it every time. Their lunch specials come with soup or salad, a vegetable-filled egg roll and a-cream cheese and crab-filled wonton before your main dish - such a treat (it also helps to keep your hunger at bay)! The portions are more than generous, even for lunch. My personal go-to is the Basil Basil (Grapao) with tofu or mock chicken (their vegetarian alternative). The incredible part is that it never feels like a compromise. Even though it's a plant-based, it's so delicious that I sometimes think it tastes even better the next day as the flavor deepen. I also highly recommend their Larb - a lemony, herby salad served with fresh lettuce. And if you visit when mangoes are in season, don't miss their Mango Sticky Rice or their homemade coconut ice cream - both are heavenly! I work in Fontana, more than 10 miles away, and I'll gladly pass by 10+ Thai restaurants just to satisfy my cravings at Rose Apple. It's truly that good. On top of the food, the owners, Noi and O, make this place extra special. They've been running Rose Apple for so many years, and you can tell how much they care about their customers. Many are long-time regulars, and Noi and O know their orders by heart. They always greet you with warmth and kindness, making you feel right at home. My husband and I learned of this place late last year and have become regulars. (When we leave our server has started to say, "see you next week!") The food is consistently delicious and the service is top notch. Since we're vegan, we were intrigued to find their "vegetarian/vegan-friendly" claim goes above and beyond other places we've eaten at with similar boasts. You can order meat-substitutes that are more elevated than tofu, and they will also omit oyster sauce upon request. My favorite dish is the basil basil. Oh, yum! The bell peppers, onions and green beans are fresh with just enough bite. The sauce has such depth of flavor! This place is sooo good! I ordered the Garlic Delight dinner with no rice (because I'm on a keto diet) and it was so delicious. It was actually my first time ever having Thai food. I wanted to go back today, but they are closed on Sundays. The service was also excellent! We got the last table during a busy lunch on Thursday. They accommodated us by moving tables together to fit our group of 9. Some personal friends suggested we try Rose Apple Thai. What a delight it was. The area is kind of sketchy, so we were a little tentative as we went inside. It is nicely decorated. We were presented the menu, and there are lots of choices. We were told they specialize in different curry's. We had orange cashew chicken, I had the Pad Thai noodles. Medium heat chicken basil was good for me since I want some spicy in my food, pork was tender not dry out, it had a good flavor that I can them plain but better with rice. Chicken satay with peanut sauce was good, it looked dry because it has no fat but it was not tough to eat. Tum yum noodle with thick flat noodle was the best dish. So let me just say. I use to come here ALLLL the time during covid era when they only served take out. I absolutely LOVE their Pad Thai! Today was my first day dining in. The decor is very unique and the restaurant seemed very clean. I ordered yellow curry from the lunch menu and my friend ordered Panang curry from the dinner menu. The lunch menu comes with a salad or soup + egg roll + wonton. As you can see in the photo..the egg roll and wonton are VERYYYY mini lol, but they taste great! (Wonton was filled with cream cheese and the egg roll/spring roll had what looked like cabbage inside) I wasn't a huge fan of the tofu Tom yum soup, but that could just be personal preference. At first glance the curries look a bit..odd. I'm use to curries having a bit more color to them (yellow curry being ..well yellow. And Panang being more of an Orange hue) Our curries we're BOTH a creamy yellowish-white color -although the lighting in my photo makes my entire plate appear more yellow than it really was- and idk..I didn't taste hers but my spirit said they likely would have tasted the same lol But as for flavor, it was pretty good! Was it the best yellow curry I've had in the area? No. But was it still tasty? Yes! It was also really odd to have my curry served on a plate! Usually it comes in a bowl with rice on the side.. so with this unique plating style it was hard to appreciate the curry itself because it was spread so thin on my plate. I ended up giving up trying to gather spoonfuls of my curry and just mixed the entire plate together to make it easier to get the curry on my spoon (soaked in the rice). Service was very prompt and the workers were very nice! Will definitely come back, and will likely stick to the tofu pad Thai I love so much! read more

The salmon dishes in red, green and panang curry are delicious -- my favorite with large chunks of delicious salmon meat. The whole fried tilapia in curry sauce is another great choice. I have only been here twice but in one month! It does get crowded during lunch time. The place is not big with an open space concept so it does get noisy. We ordered green papaya, pad thai, tom yum soup and vegetarian orange chicken. Second time around was dinner with another friend. It was quiet. From 5:30-7:30 it was only my friend and I and a couple on the other booth. They do close at 7:30 so time your dinner so you can enjoy your meal. We had papaya salad, soup and pad see ew. Delicious. I forgot to order the vegetarian orange chicken! Next time! We had hot green tea and they served it it cute small cups and teapot. It was like a tea party. Ok rose apple. Here I am again. The calimari lady. So to sum up what's been happening with the calimari, over a year ago your calimari was one size for about $12. Then the amount of food got cut in half and you kept it at $12. Then the price went to about $14 still for the half order of what was usually given for $12. I didn't like I was now getting half an order and for more money than what used to be a whole order. So then I go again and the price becomes $16 but they put the calimari in a bigger container. He says they weigh it and it's the same of food in each container but that can't be true because the regular sized boxes definitely have more in them than the half sized boxes. So, that all happened in a matter of a few months. I went yesterday and the price has changed again! It is now $18.50 for 1 order of calimari (that is the same amount of food that they gave when you first paid $12. I consider that a full order.) So now they went up $6 but they're now giving the correct amount of food again even though the price is insane now. So they get a few stars back for putting more calimari in their orders even if it costs more. I just couldn't deal with getting half the amount of food and still a $2-6 increase. I want a decent amount of food for my money. Especially a $20 item. I know you guys are struggling since the pandemic but raising prices and lowering the serving sizes is going to drive people away. Today I was totally fine paying almost $19 since the container was actually packed with food. Is it worth that much? No. But it's the only calimari I like in the area. I think a fair price with the appropriate portion would be $15 I will post pictures to show you the different amounts they've given me and how much those cost me at the time. read more
