I have been to Vegans R us on three occasions now. The first time, I had such a great experience with the food that I decided I would definitely be going back. When I went back the second time to order the Philly V-steak, I was highly disappointed. The meat was mushy, and the fresh roll was very hard (almost stale). The tomatoes that were on the sub had a rotting taste. I figured the place had a bad day, and decided to go one week after for breakfast. On the third visit, the food was very greasy, had too much salt, and the spices were overwhelming. Needless to say I did not finish the entire meal. Mmm mmm mmm! The food, service and music were all amazing. The Sauce for the chicken cheese steak was so good and I honestly couldn't tell it wasn't chicken. Sweet potato waffle fries were good. My husband and I drove from Atlantic City to Vineland to try this restaurant out, it was absolutely worth the drive. We had the chicken cheesesteak that was scrumptious and gooey and light. We also had the spicy chicken that was as tasty as my favorite which is Wendy's Spicy Chicken Only better because it was meat free and less calories. I've been vegan for a couple of months now and I have been going through withdrawal from my favorite foods. I've been to a couple of places and some foods were edible but out of all the places I've been to none of them can even compete with the food, service, and energy of Vegans Are Us. We walked in and heard music and it was live jazz played by three talented individuals. The service was excellent they were very friendly and welcoming. But the food is what made the hour and a half drive worth it. We ordered one of everything and not a single thing disappointed. Everything tasted like the foods I loved to eat growing up. On a scale of 1-10 this place gets an 11, this is now officially my favorite vegan or even just restaurant ever. Highly recommend going there!!! read more

I ordered the vegan wings - Buffalo, BBQ, and Maple Curry for a party and they were delicious! I have 3 family members who are vegan/gluten- free and they loved them. I had high hopes for this place, but I was quickly disappointed. Here are my reasons why: 1. The staff was not knowledgeable about the food.( Or at least the person I talked to over the phone). 2. I did not want French fries with my order of chicken fingers. Since I was hungry I ended up paying over $10 for 5 small chicken fingers. I was told I couldn't substitute the fries for another side. 3. I'm new to vegetarianism so, I opted to try the cashew Mac and cheese. So, I quickly ordered the small size. The container was half way full and not enough to satisfy a hungry adult. To be frank I thought I'd be getting more for the price of $4.99. To wrap up my review this place had potential. It's overpriced and your choices are limited. You can't order an entree without paying the full price for a entree and a side. Substitutions are not allowed, Ive tried. My family and I are newbie vegans and were super excited to hear about this spot on the Avenue. My mom and I stopped in for lunch today and we loved it. Everyone was extremely friendly and our server was a little ray of sunshine. Although I was tempted, I opted not to order a burger because this is something I can throw together at home. I ordered the Philly Vsteak and my mom ordered chicken fingers and sweet potato fries. I (begrudgingly) saved half the Vsteak for my dad. The food was (literally) finger-licking good. I can't wait to go back and try out some of the other items on the menu. In fact, I can't wait to bring my kids. Best Plant based/vegan seafood I had, I used to be big on seafood before being plant based for about 4 years now, have had a lot of mock seafood but ain't have one as real and as good tasting as this, I had the fish basket and my sister had the shrimp basket both insanely Good. From the texture, Breading/ seasoning everything tasted real and it was good. Wanted to try this place for a long time. Went with my friend and we attempted to order the crispy chicken sandwiches but they were sold out. He ended up getting the jackfruit pulled pork on a gluten free bun, and I got the shrimp po boy. We shared an order of curry maple drumettes. The po boy was amazing! The shrimp tasted realistic and had a nice crunchy texture. The chipotle mayo was a great sauce choice for this sandwich. My friends sandwich was good too but I liked mine best. The drumettes were amazing! They tasted very juicy and savory almost like turkey. The service was good and although we can't eat inside right now the atmosphere inside seems really nice. We went to Vegans Are Us for a take-away dinner of burgers, sides, and cake. So, we definitely couldn't file this meal under the low-calorie, low-fat, high-vegetable flavor of some vegan dining. No, we were interested in some serious diet-ditching eating. Everyone agreed that the carrot cake was really excellent. That was definitely worth the calories. We also got chocolate cake to share, which was also good, but it was the carrot cake that, well, look the cake. Everyone really liked the burgers, which start with a Beyond patty. I'm not sure if everyone ordered the Earth Burger, or some other variety, but all agreed that they were nicely done. I ended up with the chicken cheese steak sandwich, which was good, but didn't seem to have that deeply satisfying flavor profile that the burgers conveyed. I found the cheese on the chicken cheese steak to be a bit flavorless. I suppose it's supposed to mimic provolone --- of which U.S. varieties are pretty flavorless anyway, but I guess I could have used something a little sharper there. In all cases we got the special sauce on the sandwiches, which I think is a welcome addition. We got a couple of sides to share. I really liked the cashew mac-and-cheese. Nice flavor. Would definitely quality as a comfort food. Overall, this is an excellent place to take a break from the diet and splurge on yummy, substantial vegan food. read more
