Came to Tampa for the Florida State Fair, spent the night before, and I wanted to find somewhere…read morenice for dinner. My vegan friend recommended Good Intentions, and I haven't had a nice vegan dinner in a while, so I decided to come see what this place was all about, in honor of my beloved Ethos. RIP. We make reservations, show up, park anywhere we can find in this wild, wild West portion of town, and start browsing the menu. It sounds absolutely delicious. We started off with the Southern Sriracha Crab Cakes (Hearts of palm and jackfruit crab cakes, sriracha pimento, Thai chili glaze, seitan bacon crumbles, pickled fresno, scallion, sesame). These were great. Very crispy, the inside was the spitting image of crab cake filler, and there was just enough Old Bay to really sell it. Spicy sauces and other elements made this quite the lovely little app. We also had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts (Dan Dan tahini, toasted cashews, pickled fresnos, scallion). Wow, this was good. Tahini was a great choice, the sprouts were crispy crispy, and the cashews added a wonderful little crunch. My main was the Kimchi Fried Rice (Crispy fried jasmine rice, scrambled JustEgg, kimchi, sweet soy reduction, fried crab balls, kewpie aioli, scallion, sesame seeds). Better than some of the non-vegan fried rices I've had in my life! Great rice with some nice crisp, flavorful but not too funky kimchi, a nice soy sauce, and a nice aioli to sauce things up a bit. I also got to try a bucatini bolognese of some sort that I can't find on the menu anymore. Maybe it was a special. But it was good. Really deceivingly real meat crumbles, a lovely sauce, and bucatini is one of my favorite noodles. Big fan. Overall, this was not a good vegan meal. It was a good meal. I love places like this. I think that more people need exposure to places like this. I'll be back.

Very friendly guy who made excellent recommendations based on flavor and taste. The food was great. Not "great for being vegan," but just great. I was very pleased with the high quality dishes here. Cons: No cons at all. Tips: The whole menu was delicious, but I want to tell you to save room for dessert. That was an excellent cheesecake.

Incredible Plant-Based Innovation in the Heart of St. Pete!…read more I recently stopped by House of Vegano in downtown St. Pete, and it is easily one of the most exciting dining experiences I've had lately. The atmosphere is vibrant and matches the energy of the neighborhood perfectly it's a great spot to grab a bite and soak in the city vibes. The menu is a total masterclass in plant-based cuisine. I started with the California Roll which features a unique garlic jackfruit salad that adds such a savory, unexpected depth you honestly won't miss the fish. The Sweet Potato Summer Roll was just as impressive; it's packed with marinated sweet potato, fresh mango, cucumber, and avocado, making every bite incredibly fresh, colorful, and texturally satisfying. But the real showstopper? The Strawberry Matcha Tiramisu. I've never had anything like it the combination of creamy vanilla layers, matcha infused ladyfingers, and strawberries macerated in rosé wine is absolute genius. It's light, sophisticated, and the perfect finish to the meal. Whether you are strictly vegan or just someone who appreciates fresh, creative food, you need to add House of Vegano to your list. I'm already planning my next trip back!

My wife's ramen came out quickly, tasty, full of flavor & steaming hot, yum. My wings came out next, the texture was different but the taste of the sauce, absolute fire. We had to wait a bit for the king krab roll to come out but it was worth it after tasting the first piece. The roll was super fresh with vegan ingredients. Finally for dessert I went with the Tiramisu & oh em gee, so good. I'd come back for sure as this place has something for everybody!

I'm happy to say I was very pleased with how the quiche of the week here tasted. The flavor happened to be spinach and mushroom. It was everything I hoped for--savory, hot, and perfectly balanced with spinach, flaky crust, and whatever magical "egg" substitute/binder they use. For $10 you get the quiche plus a potato salad which tasted better than I expected, mild, full of texture, and pairing well with the soft flavorful quiche. I also got a half Chickpea bakon salad ($12) which was generously loaded with ranch dressing and tasted fresh. All in all, made for a filling and delicious meal. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and overall the place gives comfortable vibes. Service was quick despite being a popular spot on the Sunday I went. The staff members were very friendly and greeted/thanked customers for visiting. The bathroom was clean, and there was free wifi and some charging outlets for those who want to get some work done.

The Wooden Rooster: Where My Morning Got Its Life Together Before I Did…read more Listen... I came here expecting "just a crepe." What I got was a full-on personality upgrade. First off--the vibe. Somehow it's better than Kraft (yeah I said it), but like... calmer, cooler, and not screaming at you before coffee. It's peaceful, shady, low-noise... the kind of place where you feel like you should start journaling or making better life decisions. Now let's talk food. I ordered The B.E.A.S.T. and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing deserves its own documentary. Bacon. Pesto. Sun-dried tomatoes. Eggs. It was like every breakfast all-star showed up and said, "Let's absolutely dominate this guy's morning." Perfect balance. Crispy, creamy, savory... I took one bite and immediately forgave myself for everything I've ever done wrong. And honestly? This is a WAY better place to start your morning than the bagel place down the street. You know the one. We've all settled for it. We don't have to live like that anymore. Also--huge shoutout to the service. These people were so nice I almost asked if they wanted to come manage my personal life too. Fast, friendly, and somehow still chill. Bonus points for the menu because where else can you go from a Nutty Joe dessert crepe to a Cubano crepe to a PB&J throwback without anyone questioning your life choices? Final verdict: If you're in downtown St. Pete and not coming here, you're making your mornings unnecessarily harder than they need to be. Wooden Rooster didn't just feed me-- it emotionally supported me.
