I was sad that I couldn't get a cinnamon roll as they were frozen and I was getting on the road back home and it wouldn't last the trip. I loved that I didn't have to worry if the baked goods would upset my stomach and I ordered what I wanted. So far I had the Old fashioned donut and it was decadent and just what I wanted, yum! Two more great experiences at this location in St. Petersburg. We stopped by on both the day of our arrival as well as the day our departure from the resort we were staying at in the area. We had our mind set on the southwestern skillet upon our arrival; but, since we arrived in the early afternoon on our arrival time, the skillets were sold out. This was not a problem at all as we went with the tacos and they were just as amazing as the skillets. Also, we could've split the tacos as the portion size was absolutely generous. Quite tasty, fresh, and healthy for you. Make sure you have napkins around you as the dish can get a little messy. On our departure, we stopped by and, even though it was a little bit later in the day, we were able to get the southwestern skillet, which was just as good as it was on our first visit to Halelife. To take home, my wife got a cinnamon bun, which was quite tasty and also a generously sized portion. WOW! I am blown away. I got on the emails and saw they were shipping again but wanted to try while in the area before ordering shipped items. Love they are GF but everis Vegan also, whivh is awesome for a dairy intolerance. Ordered the garlic cheese sticks and the hostess cupcake, AMAZING! This place is a godsend. The cakes, donuts, and all the treats are truly delicious. They feel very indulgent without any food allergen products. I don't eat gluten free but let me tell you I enjoy getting myself a treat here. My nephew suffers from all types of food allergies and this is the only place I can get him treats that are gluten and dairy free which is tough to find both. They have a freezer of frozen pre made cakes ready to go which is perfect. We have also tried there frozen knots which are great. We tried HaleLife for the first time today. My husband has a gluten sensitivity so we really appreciate a gluten free bakery and bistro option. We are not vegan but try to include as much plant based foods as possible. My family ordered the breakfast tacos, loaded tots and the breakfast sandwich via UberEats. The presentation was beautiful. Appreciate the eco friendly packaging. The breakfast tacos were delish! The ingredients were super fresh, flavors were excellent. We really loved the spicy mayo on top. They were perfection. We also enjoyed the loaded tater tots. The tots were extra crispy, the cheese and herb topping were yummy and the right ratios. Can't wait to order those again. This review is about the newer location in St. Petersburg, FL. Our adult son unfortunately has recently become allergic to gluten, rye, and barley. I was searching for a place who sold fresh gluten free donuts because that's something he loved to eat. I was pleasantly surprised that they had donuts and they had a lot of options for people with gluten & dairy allergies. I actually had a donut myself and it tasted good (not as good as with gluten, but what can you do). The only reasons this review is lacking 2 stars is because when my son ate the donut I bought here, he actually had a reaction. His stomach hurt & threw up the donut. I don't know why. I'm not saying there was gluten in it because I highly doubt that, but just letting everyone know that he did react. The other 2 donuts left (we ordered 4) our oldest son (no allergies) ate and he enjoyed them. The other reason for the lack of 2 more stars is the price. Each donut is $6!!! I understand it takes certain ingredients to make stuff gluten free, but why SO much money?!? Just as much time as you would make a regular donut is the same time to make a gluten free donut. So time can't be a reason for the high prices. I also bought the cinnamon rolls and they were never eaten because it passed the expiration date. That's another thing. If you're going to buy something that is gluten free (anywhere unless it's frozen), it MUST be eaten soon. Otherwise, it's no good. With all that being said, I would tell anyone with an allergy to gluten, to try something small first and don't go often because it can get expensive. Learn to make it at home. This place is awesome and I am so happy that I discovered it. One of my friends is a vegan, so anytime that she hosts a dinner, I like to bring a dessert along with me. I'm always cautious of what I'm bringing because of her vegan lifestyle. And now I have a go to spot for desserts. The cupcakes taste amazing. I am so ecstatic to have found Hale Life Bakery. I have autoimmune disease and many food allergies/sensitivities. These are the only allergen-free pastries that my body can tolerate AND taste as delicious, if not better, than "regular" baked goods. The donuts are more dense and not light like the chain store donuts (Dunkin, Krispy Kreme, etc). I describe them as a cake like donut and they are amazing. The cupcakes are so good that you wouldn't even know that special allergen friendly flours and ingredients are being used. For those that have tried gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free baking... you know the struggle is real... it's so hard to find a good recipe that doesn't taste like a dry, hard, hockey puck. With that said, Hale Life has taken the guess work and failed trials out of the equation. You can just enjoy every yummy bite! I've tried their donuts and cupcakes in 2 separate occasions. The first was when my husband picked them up with an online order for my birthday over Covid summer and yesterday when I decided to get donuts while waiting for a special ordered 4"cake. Happy with both experiences and the staff was amazing. My favorite donut is Boston Cream and my favorite cupcake is Key Lime (which is a seasonal item). NOTE: My husband and I will be trying a special ordered birthday cake that I just bought from Hale Life and are planning on ordering another one for our Anniversary in a couple of weeks. So I will update my review on their special order cakes at the end of October. COVID side note: They are practicing social distancing by having separate entry and exit doors and having stickers on the floor where you can stand 6' apart from others. HaleLife Bakery was a place that I really wanted to try. Since I was in the area, I decided to stop by. I should have tasted their baked goods before buying so many. It was such a waste and we had to throw away so many cupcakes and donuts. The cake tasted like olive oil mixed with chemicals and the icing was also very bland with a chemical taste. I feel bad for not supporting a local bakery, but it was inedible. There are other vegan bakeries in Pinellas County that I didn't even know were vegan, they were just delicious. They cupcakes and donuts are four dollars each and are definitely worth it. They have a variety of flavors including flavors of the month which were raspberry lemonade cupcake and strawberry margarita donut. I got a strawberry lemon cupcake which was good but the raspberry lemonade cupcake was even better! I really enjoy their donuts. I've had a strawberry cheesecake one from Cider Press before and so this time I got the blueberry lemon and boy is it tasty. They also offer CBD infused items that are pricier for obvious reasons. If it wasn't for the fact that the cake was delicious, this would be a 1 star review and only because I can't give 0. Without having skimmed the other reviews, I can only assume most or all went into the bakery to buy something as opposed to ordering a cake or other baked goods, because if they tried to order by phone or the website, they'd be just as angry as me. First, HaleLife is only open from 9AM - 3PM in a commercial area of Clearwater. Not exactly convenient from most residential areas and only open when most people have to be at work. Therefore, the only way to place an order is to use the form on the website or call or email. The problem is, no one responds. If you call, you're leaving a voicemail. I must have called half a dozen times over a 2 week period and finally just left a message. I also submitted a request on their on-line form and then followed up with an email when I didn't hear from anyone. Point is, you will never hear from anyone. In fairness, I did get 1 email response suggesting a certain size cake based on how many people I'd be serving, but when I emailed back asking for a price and next steps, once again, no one responded. Thank god I had a friend who lived nearish and had a day off to stop in for me to place the order. But even after she placed the order, the bakery told her to have me call to let them know when I'd be picking it up. Difficult, considering they don't answer the phone, but my friend said HaleLife instructed that I should leave a message. I did, and thankfully my cake was ready because no one called back. So, if not for a kind friend, they never would have gotten my business because their customer service is non-existent. I honestly don't know how you stay in business when you ignore someone trying to give you business. Fact is though, they are a vegan bakery and they are really good at what they do. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie cake that my lady saw on their instagram page and wanted for her birthday and it was fantastic. Don't know how you make a cake without eggs or milk taste that good but they did it and again, it is the only reason they are getting a positive review. Part of me wanted the cake to be bad so I could go completely off in my review, but they hit a home run with the cake. There was a great variety of your standard cupcake flavors - chocolate chip, cookies &cream, etc. They had a special berry flavor cupcake that i just had to get for myself. The cake is moist and it has the perfect amount of icing. I am an icing fiend so i dont mind the overkill icing but i hate when someone skimps on icing. Halelife has the right goldilocks icing balance of "just right." Halelife is your best bet for supplying kids birthday party because theres always a kid or two who is gluten free, vegan etc. Halelife has all that covered. I would recommend buying here and saving yourself the trouble or having a kid feel left out of the party. You'll be the star of your kids bday party to the parents and the kiddos who are plant based & gluten-free. Now, ive had vegan cupcakes, ive had gluten-free cupcakes and hands down gluten-free are the worst tasting. They are always too grainy and not enough moisture. Vegan cupcakes are fine: you honestly wont miss the egg or milk. Gluten free is harder to pull off right than vegan cupcakes but Halelife does it!
