Really is a bit of a random location, but I think it probably is primarily set up to serve small restaurants (they have freezer chests of restaurant-sized bags of stuff), and allows regular people the opportunity to purchase as a sort of afterthought, maybe? Also, the Google Maps location is a bit off, so you might need to wander around a little to find it in like the next building over. Once you're there, just go past the counter to the back and check out the freezer cases of goodies. Be aware that it is a mix of vegetarian ("vege" in the name) and vegan items, so some things may have milk products in it (but I don't think anything had eggs last I checked). Also, their selection of items changes, so just because you found it there on e doesn't mean you'll find it again (like those Lypid thick cut "bacon" slabs). Other thing to be aware of is that payment is either by cash or Venmo (and the Venmo goes to a person's name rather than "Vegefarm"), so be prepared for that! The offerings are more diverse than what you'll find at most Asian markets' vegetarian section, and the prices are a bit better, too (not to mention the apparent turnover). They do have some little specials posted on a piece of paper on the front of the freezer cases, too, so keep an eye out or ask the person at the front desk. Each time I have gone it's been the same lady, and she's always been helpful and friendly. The place is kept reasonably clean (on par with most Asian markets I frequent), too, but the hand written prices can occasionally be tough to read. Holy moly!! I work right around the corner from this place but never knew it existed until today thanks to the mail man! This is a tiny office tucked away in a business park, filled with vegan and vegetarian treasures!! Here are all the things I loved: *vegetarian frozen items (some have whey protein) separated from vegan ones to prevent confusion *they carry very specialized mock meats like pork belly, eel, fish, fish balls, fish cake, seasoned beef chunks, seasoned chicken chunks, ham, steam buns, dumplings, chicken nuggets and lots of other things I probably missed. *great selection of sauces: mushroom sauce, tom yum paste, sesame paste, toons paste, ginger paste, taiwanese style bbq sauce and more *awesome selection of dried noodles + sauce packets *large selection of veg jerkies and TVP of various sizes and forms *they accept Venmo I picked up some spicy noodles, and frozen mock meats: eel, beef chunks, and thai style chickn chunks. These have already be seasoned so they only need to be heated up and stir fried with choice of veggies. This is a Taiwanese-owned business with all of their products imported from Taiwan (not China). Some of the items may require some customer service even though the name of the product is written in English. The service here was very friendly and helpful. Heads up CASH ONLY and Bring Your Own Bag!!! Great variety of vegetarian imitation meat products. Mainly imported from Taiwan from what I saw. Almost all of your shopping is going to be sifting through giant chest freezers. The man that helped us spoke enough English and was able to help us find what we needed (phone pictures helped). Prices are written on the wall for the most part, so not much arguing about prices there. Near the register there's like a box of open shelf items (like jerky and etc.) for you to try out before buying. Highly recommend for all your Asian vegetarian fake meats needs. I can understand where people can get slightly offended and complain about poor customer service. But, honestly that's how old school Asian people are (personality wise), and we as American born Asians/people have a totally different view on how sellers should interact with their customers. I got a pack of meatless meatballs - a pack has 6 servings, a serving consist of 2 meatballs equating to about 110 calories. Do I detect a lean and full of protein meal? Yes, sir!!! I forgot how much I paid for it though because I also got a pack of their spicy chicken-less thingy. Heard about this place from a friend and my uncle finally took me and damn I have to say its a hidden treasure! If you are a fellow non meat eater this place is for you. I actually do not eat fish due to the fact that fish has a dinstinct "fishy" odor but the patties were not fishy at all. Instead they were light and the seaweed went very well w/the patties. I was shocked and awed by this processed veggie "meat" heaven! The shopkeeper was very patient. He explained everything on every shelf, in each refrigerator and freezer. He noted the vegan label, the egg label, and the milk label. He pointed out the items not available in grocery stores. He even explained how some items should be prepared! I thought I might have to buy items in bulk but that's not true! Everything was available supermarket-sized. (And I think the items are slightly cheaper here than at Ranch 99.) I wasn't sure if we were allowed to shop here since it seems like they are only open to other businesses. Luckily an employee greeted us and allowed us to go towards the back. This is where all the "meats" are located in several freezers. We were excited to see such a variety of imitation meats, but our excitement slowly faded away. 75% of their products are vegetarian not vegan since they contain whey. If your vegetarian and a great cook. This is definitely your go to place! The prices are reasonable, pricing from $5-$8 a package. The only downside I see in this place is the products seem to have freezer burn with lots if accumulated ice inside the package. I read the reviews & saw a lot of people say the selection is good but the customer service is bad. The customer service was great in my experience. They let us sample their various vegan jerkies and helped us find what we were looking for. They packed our food up in a box. They rounded our order down so we didn't have to get coin change. They held the door open for us as left. The store itself is in a weird location, looks like an office building turned into a mini warehouse filled with freezers that you have to open yourself to browse the products. But who cares? I didn't think I would have to write a review for this store since it doesn't seem too popular and is literally in the most random place ever (you would never think there would be a store in the same building complex with other offices located nearby). But the experience was just so terrible that I need to rant about this place. The store is very small. You have to walk all the way towards the back to get to the food selections. However, upon my arrival I just knew something would be off. My mother started looking through the food that were in boxes on the floor to find something to make for dinner that night--only to be approached rudely by BOTH of the people who work there (one was a girl and the other was a guy, but I didn't catch either of their names). The guy just kept staring at us like as if we weren't allowed in there so for a second I was really confused. Then the girl comes into the "store" and literally KICKS the box that my mother was looking at, away from us and further towards the back of the room. Okay.... and then, when we asked how much an item was, she responded so rudely I literally wanted to slap her across the face with the vegan meat I was holding. Every question we asked she responded so rudely and was just so annoyed. Sorry you're having a bad day, but fix your attitude. The only time she didn't speak to us in a harsh tone was when she was ringing us up. Nice business, huh? Only giving it two stars because the food itself is actually yummy, it's just the service and employees were horrible. It's not like they're going to read this anyways since their business isn't too popular, but if they do then maybe they can take a few lessons on how to improve their behavior and be more polite. Vegefarm is kind of unique, providing many "veggie fake meat" and other veggie products, mostly imported from Taiwan, that you will not be able to find in any other places. Some Chinese stores have a few fake meat products, but nobody can come close to Vegefarm. Be sure you bring the address with you or you'll never find it as there is no prominent sign and it isn't in a retail plaza, but more of an office plaza. Once you go inside, well, you will be very confused if it is your first time. The foods are not in display cases, but in freezers (plus some non-refrigerated products on shelves). You cannot really know what is in there unless you open the freezers and look. The employees will help you. Be prepared that you might find the bags of frozen food too big, but for many of them they do have a smaller size if you ask. We have tried quite a few things here and didn't find any that we did not like reasonably well. Having said that, as a vegan I'm not too keen on fake meat. Why not just eat veggies with tofu? But we do sometimes like to use their chicken patties or lamb chunks. If you are vegan, be sure you check the ingredient list carefully, because not all the veggie products are vegan. Some have eggs and/or dairy, but mostly they do not. read more
