I came for the buffet but turns out that wasn't happening. The lovely lady running the place solo took care of me very well though. Instead of the buffet, she prepared a several course meal for me (€18.90), which included 3 Chinese starters, a coconut curry soup she called a malatang (I think that's something different), spring rolls, and a dessert (deep fried banana). She cooked a mega-size of the soup for me. Everything was absolutely delicious, with the exception of the rather uninspired spring rolls. I was completely stuffed by the end. The place is tiny--only 3 tables. I don't know how a place open for such narrow hours and doing so little business can stay open, but nonetheless, this was a killer, basically home-cooked meal. Know that I had a chance to go back for dinner it was nice to get more of a variety that I had the choice to pick. That being said, the menu is certainly overwhelming to say the least. It's nice to have variety, but so many options, especially when you don't speak the language was quite difficult to work through. They really know how to make the soy dishes look and partially taste like a meat dish. I don't normally like this because making vegetables act like meat just doesn't work in seems a little wrong. Though, they do this well enough that you don't mind. Make sure US for the chili sauce, as it helps accentuate the flavors a little but is not so spicy that you can't handle it. read more

This is a great place to have lunch!!! The all-you-can eat buffet doesn't look as impressive as other Asians lunch buffet at first, but the quality and tastes are there, and it is bigger as it looks! It is full with salads, soups, Taiwanese cooked dishes with or without noodles, tofu, veggies... As well as vegan sushis, dumplings and other small delicacies... The flavors are definitely there and you will be amazed how good it tastes! And forget there isn't any meat on your plate... Their desserts are also very appetizing with cakes, pudding and fruits. We loved this place! My girlfriend and I were traveling with another couple, and my girlfriend was the only vegan. We were so happy to find a vegan place that we ended up coming back the next day. The lady who received us was extremely nice and welcoming. My girlfriend ordered the coconut juice and I can't recommend it enough! The buffet was delicious and filling, even for a carnivore like me. The reason for it is the cheap all-you-can eat buffet, which offers you a wide range of Taiwanese Food, while everything is suitable for Vegetarians (and Vegans). Although I'm not a Vegetarian/Vegan I really enjoy this kind of cuisine and it shows people the multifariousness of Vegan food. I'm every time fascinated by the idea of preparing food without using animal ingredients and, additionally, creating such a good taste. Tonight I ate the best vegan Asian food I have ever had and, being a vegetarian, I've been to quite a few veg Asian restaurants. Myself and my partner ordered a fixed menu for two that included a choice of soup, appetizer, and dessert. The main course included a sampling of five dishes that were all incredibly delicious. My absolute favorites were their handmade noodles in a brown sauce and their soya chicken that actually has the texture and taste of fried chicken. There was not a single part of the meal that We did not like. I think it's important to stress that everything on the menu is homemade and fresh. On top of that, the service was very friendly and efficient. We do not speak German all that well and the staff were more than willing to help us figure out the menu and to chat with us in English. My girlfriend and I were visiting Vienna and she wanted vegan food after we ate way too much meat at our prior destinations, plus she doesn't eat dairy. Vegetasia has upscale, hip decor, and a very pleasant environment. The service was fabulous and the owner personally checked on us to see if we were enjoying our meals. Our meals...we chose the buffet which was an absolute bargain at €16.50 each. The all vegan Asian fusion selections were delicious and unique. The flavors, textures, and freshness of the food led me to believe any meal like this would have cost at least twice as much at home in California. I can't name what items we ate, but I think we tried everything, and it was all amazing, including the desserts! She had a glass of wine and I had a pint of Austrian beer to go with our meals. I've been at Vegetasia several times now in the last few months, and the food (as well as its quality) is always very satisfying. While I don't see the point of mock meat (since there is really no need to imitate meat dishes if there are so many tasty ways of preparing vegetarian food), but I have to admit, it does taste good. The vegetarian sushi is a bit of a disappointment, though. The restaurant itself is decorated in a very modern way, which makes it a bit soulless, and not particularly cosy (though I'm sure there are customers who actually enjoy this kind of stylish interior).
