Food tastes great but the prices are too high for what you get. This place suffers from the all too common trend of charging premiums just so you can feel good about yourself for eating vegetarian. This place is hit or miss. I have gone previously & gotten some really tasty things but there are times trying to get something w/ veggie in it is difficult. So the place is vegan, but yet doesn't say that anywhere so it is confusing for people. Either way the menu doesn't state the actual ingredients in the items listed. It makes no sense. Something may say pickled or roasted veggies but there is only one vegetable, um what now? Then there is something that isn't listed which you don't find out until you start eating & find this random item that you weren't expecting & didn't want in the dish. So super annoying. Veggie Grill is a nice change of pace in Harvard Square when it comes to vegetarian food. I tried the Buffalo chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were very nice and the sandwich was as well. Definitely could tell it wasn't chicken but it still had a lot of great flavor. Staff were also attentive and welcoming. read more

We found this place by accident and very happy that we did. Great food! We had the Reuben on rye and it was delicious! If you are looking for a great sandwich this is the place! I was delighted to eat at Veggie Grill in Harvard Square for first time today and cannot say enough about how great it is. Our meals were delicious and fresh, affordably priced and served with a smile -- and 100% plant-based! I can't wait to go back and try the caprese sandwich next week. Today, I had the santa fe chickin' with a corn salad on the side and a refreshing lemonade. Wow! For lovers of sweets, my husband recommends the chocolate pudding parfait. We basically ordered everything on the menu. Lol. My kids loved the Mac n cheese. We were so thrilled that everything on the menu was plant based. The food was so good. Fresh. Made to order and tasty. The young lady even made my daughters some vegan chocolate milk, even though it wasn't on the menu but I told her that's the only thing they'll drink. Lol she was so nice and considerate to make them happy. I really wish Veggie Grill was in Atlanta area. My family is a mix of vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore. My vegan daughter had been here last year and enjoyed it, so we decided to give it a shot for a family-wide meatless meal, even though Harvard Square is a bit farther than we typically like to go for takeout. The food was really good, tasted fresh, and was definitely hot, as it was still very warm after we got it back home. We had a fairly large order, and one small side of fries was missing, but everything else was good enough (and the portions so generous) that I'm not going to knock off a star for that. Particular favorites were the Crispy Cauliflower appetizer, the Sweet Potato Fries, and the Far East Bowl with grilled chickin'. The service was pretty slow, but I won't hold that against them, since it was opening day and everything was pretty chaotic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beyond that, the experience wasn't great. The music was super loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation with someone a few feet away from you. More importantly, the food was mediocre. We got the vg beyond burger and the Nashville chickin sandwich. The burger was fine, but the chickin was slimy and tasteless. Ordered chicken tenders and fries, the fries went directly into the trash, not edible, brown and greasy and stuck together. The tenders tasted like they were fried in old oil, not great. I'm a recent vegan who still craves meat and comfort food. Veggie Grill more than satisfies my cravings every time I order! I've had the Reuben twice and the Buffalo chick'n sandwich once, all delicious. I also really love their french fries (they are perfectly fluffy and crispy, with the right amount of salt, and the sriracha aioli is an amazing sauce). It is a little pricy compared to other fast casual dining, but I also think it tastes better than most (and yes I'm factoring some of my favorite meat dishes in the area). My dad and I were visiting, and when I looked up food, I saw the reviews were good along with the pictures of the food. I mentioned the place to my dad, who was hesitant to go since it's all vegan, but went anyway because he knew I wanted to. My dad is an avid meat eater and prefers food with meat; however, when he ordered the burrito he claims it was the best burrito he'd ever have. I also ordered the tacos which were delicious! We enjoyed the food so much we came back the next day for lunch as well. I recommend trying this place because you won't regret it. I come to this restaurant at least 4 times a week and need to express my experiences. Lexi, the Associate Trainer, is AMAZING where she's the first associate to show genuine care and concern with my order. After we get released from the Army National Guard up the road, I like to come here for the Cinnamon Crunch Latte but always had the issue of other associates putting it in the smaller cups when I ordered (and paid for) a large. Lexi was the only person who actually explained I was doing nothing wrong and it was a misunderstanding from the other associates. I don't come here to be a rude customer and was constantly feeling bad for pointing out that my order needed to be a large. I first discovered Veggie Grill when I lived in Seattle a few years back and was starting to transition to a vegetarian. I was so obsessed with this place!! I would order at least 2x - 3x a week. When I moved back to the East Coast I was so sad that I wouldn't be able to order from here again as there were no locations in MA... well now there is and I can't believe I just discovered this today! Where the heck have I been?!?!! Of course I immediately ordered and it did not disappoint. I got the buffalo chickin wrap which is one of the first things I ever ordered and it taste just as good as I can remember! And the carrot cake??!! Oh my god! The first time I ate this in Seattle I could not believe how good it was! I was never a fan of carrot cake and this one has changed my mind. I also ordered the new orange chickin bowl and I was honestly a little disappointed. The chickin was dry and I didn't taste much flavor at all, it didn't look like the picture and I almost thought they sent the wrong thing. I did place my order via delivery so I am thinking that may have been a factor in the amount of sauce they used.. maybe so it would not be soggy? As I walked in, I saw the menu and was perusing the menu so many choices they all looked yummy. Someone from the establishment approached me and asked if this was my first time there and I replied"Yes". He brought me up to the cashier where there was an additional menu to look at. He made a recommended to download app and get discounts. I thought that was very helpful. I made my selection and sat down. The staff were friendly and helpful. Every time a customer finished, the tables were wiped down clean. Every now and then a staff member would asked did "I enjoy my meal", "Is there anything I can get you"? This place is the BEST. I went the other day with my mom and sister. They came over to us and welcomed us, handing us a menu. The food was ready within 10 minutes.
