In fact my four rating is because the server and hostess were great. Very helpful and pointed us in a good direction when we had questions. The space is nice and my wife and daughters said their bathroom was clean. So the food...what was ordered at our table... Chicken and waffles...great Grilled chicken sandwich and fries...great. The chicken was juicy! My daughter also got a side of Mac and cheese which was not good. I honestly think they need to rethink their recipe and until they do, skip it. BLT and fries...my wife loved it, I saw other comments about tomato size, I think this is really about preference. Corned Beef and Eggs with grits... the corned beef was over cooked and the grits were not good and were not eaten. Fried pickles with ranch were good. So all in all we had a good experience and look forward to returning.

We wanted a late lunch and decided to give it a try. If you tend to get cold easily, bring a sweater, though I like a chilly dining room so I was fine. I had my heart set on their famous fried mushrooms, and in hindsight I wish we had ordered them as a side. Our waitress didn't realize we wanted them as an appetizer, so they never came out. Not the end of the world, but a small disappointment. Unfortunately, I wish the rest of the food had wowed us enough to make that a minor issue, but for me it fell a little flat. My BLT was very average. The tomato was sliced so thin it was barely there, and although bacon is always good, there was nothing special about the sandwich. I could easily make a better one at home with very little effort. My husband ordered a chicken-fried chicken sandwich, which was better, but still not something I'd return for. The waitress did offer to bring the mushrooms once we mentioned the mix-up, but by then both our plates already came with sides. I got the fried okra, which was actually the best thing on the table. My husband's mac and cheese had almost no flavor. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Maybe brunch is where this place shines. Maybe those mushrooms are worth the return trip. I'm not sure, but if I come back and find out, you'll hear about it in a future review. Stay tuned.

Even better right?? Well welcome to Parks Coffee! I've driven past this place so many times on PGBT that I googled them and saw they offered tours. So I immediately booked one and have to say it was well worth the cost. You get to see the behind the scenes and understand more about the process of making coffee. There is even a tour you can request in which you can roast your own bag (details on their website as it may change from when I post this). At the end of the tour you get to try a sampling of their single origin coffees that are paired with bite size pastries from a local bakery, La Casita, that were delicious! The pairings really brought out the notes in the coffee and even I felt like a coffee sommelier! Plus after the tour you get a discount at the coffee shop and it applies to their sweet shirts. Overall I highly recommend checking them out and taking the tour. Their coffees were great and the tour was enlightening.

While we were there, I observed employees loading whole oranges into the fresh orange juice machine. Several oranges fell onto the floor, and I watched the employees pick the oranges up and place them back into the hopper to be juiced. I asked to speak with the owner but was told the owner was not there. A man who identified himself as the general manager came out. I explained what I had observed. The only question he asked was, "Do you know how many oranges fell onto the floor?" I replied that the number wasn't the issue. My concern was that oranges that had contacted the floor were being put back into the juicer. I did not feel my concern was taken seriously, and I requested the owner's contact information. I did not receive it. Because I believe this is a serious food safety concern, I reported this to the Highland Village Code Enforcement Division for investigation. We were excited to celebrate a special occasion here, but instead we left concerned about the restaurant's food handling practices and the response from management. Based on what I personally witnessed, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

My omelette was immense and full of flavorful ingredients. The side of hash browns were perfectly cooked and seasoned, I don't think I've ever had better. My partner's chicken fried steak was much better than we expected. Firstly, it was massive, demanding its own plate. Secondly, it was covered in exceptional sausage gravy, which was a delight as chicken fried steak usually comes with bland cream gravy. The atmosphere was a little overwhelming for my taste, but I'm there to eat, not admire the walls. The service was great, fast and frequent enough for us.

I don't think they had much warning, but they did an impressive job getting orders out quickly and accurately, all with separate checks, no less! This spot is clearly more breakfast focused, so lunch is not really the star of the show, though they do have a handful of options. I was not in the mood for anything heavy, so after doing a little menu research ahead of time, I asked if I could order from the kids menu. Grilled cheese for me! I upgraded my fries to cheese curds for a small upcharge. I have definitely had better grilled cheeses in my life, but this was a perfectly fine, basic sandwich. What really stood out was the service. At our table of eight strangers, our server, Anaya, got every order exactly right, and food came flying out of the kitchen in about eight minutes. Nicely done by both the front and back of house. I definitely want to come back and try breakfast!
