Well welcome to Parks Coffee! I've driven past this place so many times on PGBT that I googled them and saw they offered tours. So I immediately booked one and have to say it was well worth the cost. You get to see the behind the scenes and understand more about the process of making coffee. There is even a tour you can request in which you can roast your own bag (details on their website as it may change from when I post this). At the end of the tour you get to try a sampling of their single origin coffees that are paired with bite size pastries from a local bakery, La Casita, that were delicious! The pairings really brought out the notes in the coffee and even I felt like a coffee sommelier! Plus after the tour you get a discount at the coffee shop and it applies to their sweet shirts. Parks was my go to coffee shop last year and the year before that! I would always come here to work or study with friends. The inside is so spacious and there's ample amount of seating. It does get busy but never too crazy! Nor does it get super loud in there either which is perfect for studying. The coffee here is also great! They have different coffee special drinks every month and I usually try those or I get my usual lavender latte. I love this coffee shop and I'm so glad it's close by. I drove about 40 minutes to check this place out, and honestly, it was a big disappointment. Most coffee roasters let you sample before buying, but here they expect you to blindly purchase bagged coffee with no samples, no guidance. The girl taking my order didn't seem knowledgeable at all, and the staff in general weren't friendly. I even asked how can we taste coffee samples and she had no clue but obviously they do tours but she didn't know it. They also don't take cash like what??? When my order was ready, they just called my name and left the drinks on a rack. For a first-time visitor, that was confusing and felt impersonal. Why am I picking up my coffee like I'm grabbing a package instead of being served? I ordered a white chocolate mocha macchiato, and it was hands down the worst coffee I've ever had. It was flavorless, bitter, and straight into the trash. Even my 5-year-old threw away his cake pop. That should say a lot. Between the unfriendly service, confusing setup, lack of knowledge, and bad drinks, I literally want my money back. Came for the coffee tour on a Saturday morning. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and very friendly. He answered many questions about the process and about the Parks brand in general. It was really cool to get it behind the scenes look at the packaging process and how they make their blends. After walking through there was a coffee tasting set up. If you're in need of strong, delicious coffee. This is the spot. Can actually taste the espresso in the drinks that I can appreciate when most "hip" coffee spots don't hit the spot. There is a huge workspace towards the back, where you can sip your coffee and do some work. I got the Kentucky cold brew, for under 5$ this drink was 10/10. Cool looking place; terrible customer service. Asked for my coffee in a mug to drink there, the barista gave me it in a paper cup. When I politely mentioned I wanted my latte in a mug for here, he simply took the lid off the paper cup, then sloshed it into the mug. I asked if he poured the contents of the mug, from The paper cup, he said yes. Then he said, is that okay? I was slightly thrown off, that he thought that it would be okay and asked him, what he thinks? He eventually made me another cup, and proceeded to give me strange looks while I was there. Then the croissant I ordered was very stale. It took such an effort to cut through it, and tasted like it was several days old. When I mentioned it to the other server, he just said, "oh is it not good? Sorry about that". No intention of trying to put things right. Neither of the two folks behind the counter were very welcoming and quite frankly, both had terrible customer service. More worryingly, these two represent the company. So for me, it wasn't a good representation. Lots to improve. Park Roasters should do some mystery shopping, and see this for themselves. They do not take cash. I find this to be pretty unfortunate considering some people, a minority granted, use cash to better keep track of their finances. A business refusing to take legal tender is rather upsetting to me. I was really looking forward to the fun Halloween drinks like they served last year. Nope. Pumpkin Chai still on the menu. The service used to be great, but lately it's been more misses and less hits. Today was my breaking point. Robyn behind the counter sneezed twice while talking to a customer. Then stepped back to get a tissue. Instead of washing their hands, they went right back to the cash register. After being informed my beloved Sumatran dark roast whole bean coffee has been discontinued and watching as they still hadn't washed their hands; I decided not to order anything else. Meh. I was expecting better. Not a lot of good seating...it's a mixture of adirondack lawn chairs, bar tops, and smallish tables. There is a barren display on the wall with a lot of overpriced coffee items. I was not impressed with my Kentucky bourbon cold brew or whatever it was and the baked goods were pretty dry. I didn't feel super welcomed since I came with my baby, who was perfectly well behaved. Wow. What a cool place. Giant windows to see the coffee roasting actually happening next door. Lots of comfy seating. WiFi available. They only had dark roast and I prefer light. They quickly brewed a new pot of light with a smile, and yum, yum, yum. Super smooth. They have breakfast tacos available til 11, and I just missed the cut off. I've been trying to find a good coffee shop in the DFW area for a while now. For whatever reason, I couldn't find anything except cloyingly sweet drinks with a shot of espresso. Luckily, I found Parks Coffee Roastery & Cafe. I stopped in to meet someone for breakfast and saw that they had a breakfast taco called "The Jess Special" so I had to order that. It was... fine... Honestly, I was a little disappointed that something with my namesake would be so bland. I mean, what does that say about me? Am I... bland? No... It's the restaurant that is wrong. Anyway, the coffee was definitely the highlight. I ordered a pour-over of an Ethiopian and enjoyed it thoroughly. There was a hint of fruitiness that came through and it wasn't bitter at all. And they roast all of their beans in house. How neat is that?! Now if you read that last sentence and thought, "geez, what a pretentious clod. This coffeeshop sounds like it's only for high brow nerds that talk fancy about coffee" you don't need to worry about much. The staff here was pleasant and not high-falutin' at all. I haven't tried any actually coffee from here because I'm not much of a coffee person these days. I have, however had the vegan strawberry guava poptart pastry and it is so good. I like that it's puffy but do wish there was more filling. Not bad for a lil treat. I ordered my go worker the flat white and she said it was delicious. I think I'll go back to try each pastry item they have as I love croissants. I do also plan to try the coffee and come back with an updated review about the coffee as well as the other pastries they have. I liked the prices also and didn't feel it was expensive. I was in Carrollton for a short trip, and stopped by this coffee shop. The building is huge and looks very industrial, but we soon came to learn that this is where the coffee beans are roasted! Entering the cafe area, there are large windows where you can see the roastery (which you can tour as well) so I love how transparent they are with the process. We got a cold brew and americano, both tasted awesome, you can tell it is high quality coffee. Definitely want to return here next time i'm in Dallas! It's only on Saturday mornings but if it want, you can call to schedule a private tour as well which I believe has expanded hours besides Saturdays. The tour is absolutely worth it; at the end, you get to do a coffee tasting with pastries as the tour guide goes over what each item is. I've driven past this place every time I go to H-mart in Carrollton and every time I think to myself, "Imma go in there one day. Why is that coffee place so big? Is it a coffee factory? It looks like a brewery but for coffee. Oh yeah, that's called a 'roastery.' It's in the name, Lily. Dur. It kinda looks like a coffee museum too. Is it open to the public?" The answer to all of my questions is "yes." It's everything. It looks like they do some serious coffee business here, but it's very much open to the public. And it does kinda looks like a coffee factory and a museum on the inside because everything is white and there's a lot of coffee info on the walls. Did you know that coffee was said to be discovered when an Ethiopian sheepherder noticed his goats were "frolicking about more than usual" after they ate some small red berries and leaves? I ordered a vegan bfast taco and nitro cold brew ($8) and was very happy with my choices. While more and more local places are starting to do nitro cold brews, I find that a lot of places usually don't do the nitro (except for Starbucks) or they're usually out. And Parks does a great nitro. I just noticed that above my head is a huge projector screen. Perhaps you can conduct a business meeting in here as well. This place does it all. read more

For food, got a cinnamon roll which was just ok and could skip. Interior- bar seating and table seating. I did the roastery tour here today. It was such a fun experience! We got to see how the coffee started from the cherry picked off the coffee plant and ended with the coffee that they packaged in the K -Cup pods. We could smell the delicious coffee roasting as we stepped out of the car in the parking lot! That is definitely a scent I wish I could bottle up!
