AMAZING!!! This place is super cool for veteran and new players. Staff is friendly and drinks are well priced. Tons of merchandise to choose from and free lesson and goodies for you. I recommend this place to anyone! Will come again for sure

If you are a fan of Warhammer games and books you must make a pilgrimage to the nation's flagship store here in the historic downtown of Grapevine. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Tray was superb in guiding me through painting a Stormcaster figurine as well as learning how to play through a battle on Ghur within the lore of Age of Sigmar. Tray's knowledge of gameplay and lore was incredible and his presentation was immersive and entertaining. I've been daunted by the richness of the Warhammer universe, so Tray's diligence and patience to teach me the building blocks was perfect for a beginner. I can't wait to enjoy playing some combat on their tables in the second room where they also have a bar/cafe. This shop and space for games is a must for the community of Warhammer. They have an excellent variety of figurine sets, paints, and books. I will be back to enjoy some more fun!

Been to this place twice: I'm a big warhammer fan as well as a coffee fan. The staff is extremely friendly, as well as super helpful. The coffee is surprisingly good. This place also has the highest selection of Games Workshop products out of the dozen or so hobby stores I've been to. Definitely a necessity for any warhammer hobbyist and a worthy footnote for coffee fans They do have some furniture for sale, I bought an armchair, and they were extremely helpful when it came to helping get it into my car. I didn't catch the staff member who helped me's name, but he's totally awesome.

My son is a huge Warhammer fan and on our road trip we stopped here. He was super excited and we stayed for about 3 hours. He learned some tips for painting, found out about new products coming out, exclusive items only sold at their store, had a drink from their cafe, watched a game being played in the back (with the help from an employee walking him over and introducing him), and learned about forge world - more of a collectible/specialty line of game pieces. I highly recommend that if you're in the area you stop by. Staff went over and beyond to help out my 12 year old and make sure he thoroughly enjoyed this stop of our trip that he was really looking forward to visiting.

Stopped by here while on our trip from out of town because the husband is obsessed with Warhammer. I really enjoyed the cafe area! I'm a vegan so I was interested to know if they had nondairy milks and they do! The nice lady at the counter showed me they have about four nondairy milks for coffees and teas! I got a delicious iced peach green tea. Will definitely look to come back when we visit again from San Antonio!

This store is an amazing experience, and I have plenty to say towards it in that endeavor. I jumped into the Citadel about a month ago to buy my fiance a mini for D&D; I knew nothing about the hobby outside of its tabletop nature and the store was more a means to an end. Efrain explained to me about the hobby, and his patience and willingness to answer questions left me with a positive experience that has kept me coming back time and again, feeling completely invited to do so. I really blame the staff for my continued excitement coming in; Caitlyn is knowledgeable, bubbly, and makes excellent drinks. Efrain really knows how to get you into the lore and is absolutely patient through suggestions and paint-tip sharing alike. My first day in for painting, he sat in and checked up on me for nearly two hours to make sure I was getting things right, which has kept me going as I grow in this hobby. The other employees are equally fantastic, and lead by one of the most personable store managers I've ever met in Mic. My fiance and I have easily spent upwards of 1000 dollars on the hobby in the month we've begun, not only for their excellent service or heavenly drinks (which can bring customers in easily on its own merit), but also for the amazing atmosphere. Beautifully displaced pieces of the universe and product dot the walls and make you feel alive with the lore, and the regulars are keen and open to welcome new players, something I feel is hard to find in new hobbies at the level they present. I came in for the Vigilus narrative they've been setting up, and rather than a competitive rules lawyering, I see kind and polite people excitedly working to advance the lore of a universe they are actively building. Please, please, if you are at all piqued, interested, or enthused about this little slice of nerd heaven on Main, go in and visit. Chances are, you'll make the beginning in a story that they are only too happy to help you live to its fullest.

Given that I am from out of town, I can say that this is The best warhammer store in North America. I got to meet the staff and everyone seem genuine about the hobby. While I love my warhammer stores back in California, I can say that the store layout and addition options it offers completely change the shopping experience. With plenty of space and well designed product to demo ratio, I feel like I want to more product. This store gives me the space to breath and take in all that game workshop has to offer without feeling cramped like some of their other stores. While GW/warhammer stores have a distinct disadvantage over FLG and internet market sales, due to pricing, the atmosphere and play area this store is able to provide, allows me the customer to ignore that draw back. I hope future stores follow this layout as if nurtures great hobby Mecca for warhammer beginners and enthusiasts alike.

This review is for the Moms out there. Visited Warhammer Citadel during our first visit to explore downtown Grapevine and left very impressed. I'll admit I'm not personally a role playing game kind of person, but as a boy-mom to 12 and 13 yo boys, I figured this might be a kind of place they - and my husband - may like so I circled it on the list of shops to visit (along with plenty of my winery, kitchen and home decor stores!) It was very cool. I don't understand this whole world, but I can tell it's definitely a thing. The back half of their building is dedicated to playing the game - they have tables and a snack bar set up. We didn't spend time back there, but it seemed like people were having fun. The front room was part store, part hang out area, lots of cool displays and this interactive area that they welcome people of (apparently) all levels of experience to check out the creating and playing aspects. Here's where I want to really praise this store. The staff really embraced our two kids and spent at least 20 mins with them teaching them how to paint figures and then showing them the basics of playing the game. I got the impression this is how they treat all their first timers that show interest. We ended up leaving with two budding Warhammer fans and a bag of starter figures, magazines and paints. I can't say for certain the hobby will take hold, but if it does, we will certainly be back. Either way, it was a fun half hour during our Grapevine historical downtown experience.

I was open to the Manga I wanted by genre; it was a matter of finding the right one. One, I knew, would keep my attention. My favorite Anime of all time is DeathNote, so I figured this was the perfect selection. Several titles caught my eye, and I look forward to my next visit. The purchase price was reasonable; it was actually a bit less than the cost at some other places, and it was a great buy. The customer service was as I would have expected, courteous and well-versed.

The Store We Like but Keep Trying to Replace…read more We've been here several times with both friends and family. It's a large but otherwise typical nerd store: cards, comics, minis, dice, events. It's all here in one crowded, slightly chaotic package. They've got a ton of bulk Pokémon and Magic cards in large, loosely organized drawers you can dig through for hours. You probably won't find anything rare, but it's a good time if you're the type to go treasure hunting for something. There's a decent selection of tabletop minis, paints, tiles, TTRPG books, and board games, nothing mind-blowing, but more than enough to get a new campaign rolling or add to your collection. The manga and comic section is sizable too, though I can't speak to the quality since that's not my scene. Events happen regularly, which is great in theory but a bit awkward in practice if you're not partaking. If you need access to the back wall where the tables are, you'll likely be squeezing past players mid-match. If it's accessible at all. The entrance can also get pretty bottlenecked depending on how many people are milling around. The store's clean enough for a hobby shop, but if you're a germaphobe, maybe bring hand sanitizer. The staff are helpful when asked and otherwise leave you to browse. Every now and then one might get chatty, but not in a bad way. The whole place is welcoming with that typical nerdy vibe you expect from a place like this. It's a very inclusive store, if that's your thing. The prices are as you would expect. If not on the higher side. We like Generation X. They've got the biggest selection of the stuff we're usually hunting for. Still, I don't know why, but we're always looking for an alternative. Maybe it's the clutter, maybe it's the crowding, or the drive. Either way, it's a reliable go-to even if it's not quite "the one."

Fortunately, one of the young hires approached me at the right time. After pointing to the game, she excused herself, went to the back room to get a ladder and grabbed the game. If I had wanted one of the independently-published games, I could have it grabbed myself. Browsing the store with my hands full was cumbersome.
