Stopped by here at the South Riding location, on a weekend afternoon on the way back. There's a gas station right next door, and I was low on gas. So coming back, I ordered burger to-go from the website I believe. Ordered the Velocity Burger, w/ the free fries on side. I wish I could say it was decently priced, but honestly burgers these days are all over 10$ and it's hard to find a baseline to compare it to. It is nice that it included fries though. Burger came with cheese, lettuce, tomato and a single beef patty. It was decent. Fries were, likewise decent. I got my to-go order but decided to dine in after all. I figured they were running a skeleton crew or something, and didn't seem to have a whole lotta customers, so I decided no one would mind after all. I got me some napkins and ketchup packets, and just finished my lunch at the joint itself. Wish i could say it blew my socks off, but it was only decent. Filling, though. I will give points for that. I enjoyed it, but not overmuch. Will I be back? Who knows. Maybe to a Velocity Wings in another location, and maybe when they have specials going on, on their burgers or wings or whatever's popular. Would I recommend? I will say, im not the best person to ask here. I only had their signature burger combo and it was so-so. I recommend giving it a shot though. This place has really gone downhill and I'm saying this as someone who used to be a pretty loyal customer up until the past year. I think new management has taken over and that is the reason. The wings are now smaller than ever and you used to be able to order all flats or all wings on their website for a surcharge and they have now removed that feature. The prices are now higher than ever so I'm getting teeny tiny wings for more than I used to pay before. I sent a message on the website to discuss some of the recent changes and never heard a reply back. The good - great flavors for a sports bar. Been coming here for a lot of years. Drinks are good and priced fairly - good value for money and the staff are courteous. The bad is the food quality - seems like they just keep cutting back more and more and prices just keep creeping up - today was 15 of the smallest wings I've ever seen for $25 - for a place with WINGS in their name you think they would up the experience - food is no longer a quality experience. At least this location gets the sauce recipes correct unlike the Haymarket location. Other issue is cleanliness - today the tables were dirty from last night and the plates had standing water - I guess from the dishwasher - but I shouldn't have to wonder why the side plates have water - and a lot of it sitting on them. Also, not happy with the recent menu changes - sides aren't available anymore like tater tots - now only fries and onion rings - more and more cutbacks which won't attract my business. Bottom line good place for happy hour and specials because the price is reasonable and probably a great hang out for the kids after the soccer game but no longer on my list for lunch or dinner. The nachos grande i used to get from velocity wings was delicious. It had fresh meat, beans, guacamole, sour cream, with hot melted cheese. But the last two times I went the food has been absolutely disgusting. They now add raw onions, even though onions are not listed in the description on the menu, the cheese was old and not melted, there was hardly any meat or beans on the chips, and the meat you could see looked literally like dog poop. Furthermore, the chips were stale. Looks like the restaurant is under new management and it shows. This is the second time that the food is absolutely disgusting, and I will not be returning. You're actually better off going to Taco Bell and getting their nachos grande, even if it is fast food. That's how nasty velocity wings is now. read more

We ordered through Uber Eats and had only ordered the Southern fried wings and a gyro salad, but they managed to get both orders wrong! They saturated the wings in sauce, which we did not want, and they gave us ranch dressing instead of tzatziki for the gyro salad, but this was a lesser nuisance. Decided to try this place again after having a disaster of an experience 2 years ago. It was just as bad. Placed order online the day before for a 5pm pick up. It's Super Bowl Sunday so I knew it would be busy. Walk in at 510pm to pick up and was added to the list of about 50 others who are huddled around the entrance way awaiting their orders. When I asked why the delay. The front counter people stated "We can only put so many wings down at a time.". I understand the logistics of cooking. It's a math problem. But the business should figure out their Terminal "Velocity" of wings per hour, and only allow orders that do not exceed it. Additionally, invite guests to grab one of the 50 empty tables, offer a soda for free or beer at the menu price. Getting people away from the door and into the restaurant, then you know who is at what table and can more orderly deliver service.v Do better. At least try. read more

Was just denied service here. The bartender "thought" my work colleague was a person who got into it with an employee at another bar next door. I've been coming here for years. Twice last week. In VA you can not verbally Barr someone from a place of business. So if this was the case the owner needs to provide this. FIRST The food was so good, people at the front were really nice welcoming us, BUT, there was a very rude manager, I think her name is (Ally or Abby) I overheard her being rude and giving attitude to one of her employees, and that was not nice or polite. Nobody likes to have their meal in this kind of environment. I don't know what she was thinking, saying that to her employer and when she saw us, she acted differently. I love velocity wings a lot, but I'm for sure not coming back again if the rude person was there. That is not a professional behavior for a place like this. I came and conquered the Wednesday All-You-Can-Eat-Wings for 17 bucks. Though it's a deal, it's one that I can't say I'd be back for. We sat at the bar area and our server came to greet us. We confirmed with her about the specials and my mom had to ask her if they had a lemon-pepper flavor since it wasn't on the menu, which the server then confirmed. Luckily, my mom had asked otherwise we wouldn't have known that was an option. Of all the flavors I tried I'd say the Spicy Ranch one was the best, and even with that - it was way too creamy/saucy, as with the Cajun Bleu. The flavor was good but it was overwhelming just because of how much of the sauce they loaded on the wings. The Lemon-Pepper wings were waaayyy too salty. After trying the flavored wings - I'd say sticking with naked wings and dunking it in your sauce of choice is best. Service was worse. Our server was also the bartender and you could tell much of the attention went to those sitting at the bar. After we'd finish our wings we'd sit there and wait for her to come over, so we could order more, and it took longer than it should have. She also never came to ask if we wanted refills on water, and tried to claim that happy hour was over when we still had 30 minutes 'til it was over when we tried to order well drinks. And right as we asked for the check was when our server said that the Wednesday wings deal also included fries, which would've been nice to have known when we first arrived instead of towards the end of our dinner. Who likes take-out/leftover fries? I really wish I liked this place though because for any sports fan, it's the place to be with a TV at every table, playing clips of sports highlights and so on. Highly recommend! In the 6 years I have lived in NoVa, these are the best wings I've had in the area. Perfect combination of saucy and crispy. I got the mango habanero and island dry rub (pretty much Jamaican jerk). Both were amazing but the mango habanero had too much heat. He said because you ordered boneless. I asked why didn't you tell me? He stated "we always do that". I said "I haven't been here in 4yrs". I deducted the difference from his tip and an inconvenience fee because was not advised ahead of time of the change or given the opportunity to decide if I wanted the change or not.
