This is an amazing place if you want to sit down for 1:30 hours waiting for your food. I wish I decided to never dine here because after I sat down it took at least thirty minutes for somebody to even come to my table. The service here was so slow I probably could have been able to watch the entirety of Oppenheimer(3 hour movie) before I got my food. When my food finally arrived both my appetizers and main dishes came at the same time. By this point of my journey I was at least 1:30 hours in and all of the sudden the music completely changed. The music began to overwhelm the conversation I was having with my friend and all I wanted was to get out. For the overpriced, mediocre food, I would never step place in this restaurant ever again. Coming to Vail for the first time, I had no idea we would need reservations a month in advance. Luckily we were able to get in with about an hour wait. The Bolognese was very good. However, the pork chop was one of the best pork chops I've ever had. The bacon glaze is perfect. This was a great stop for lunch. We had chicken parm hero and chicken parm entree. Not huge portions but this is Vail. Host and server were very friendly and we shows up with kids/tweens so we were kind of expecting attitude based on other reviews but we had attentive and quick service. The food itself is delicious. Everything came out looking and smelling delicious aside from a mishap with a side salad. The service was subpar at best. The front of house staff were all very rude and huffed at everyone coming in, especially if they didn't have a reservation (this was particularly strange since we called prior to coming and they said they were not taking reservations for that evening). They could have just maxed their reservation list and that is fine, but the attitude was not. It felt like we were a burden for being patrons of their establishment. I understand we all have bad days, but everyone we interacted with acted like each patron was an annoyance to them. We decided to pop in here after wandering around the village for our dinner. It was pretty busy on a random September Monday evening! I ordered an espresso martini which was delicious! The perfect amount of each ingredient. For apps we settled on the burrata which hit the spot. We then each ordered a salad and a slice of pizza. I settled on the one which was their version of a supreme pizza. The salad was decent, nothing to cry home about. The pizza was also fine, but nothing close to the best pizza I've ever had. The crust was nice and crispy which I appreciated. The service was a little slow, but they were busy and we weren't in a rush so I don't think it was a big deal. I also felt a little bit like we were in a work-a-rant since the server expected us to pass all of our dishes to her every time she came by...I thought that was strange considering we weren't sitting at a large table where she didn't have access to where the plate was sitting. Weird. Overall good experience. I could see myself coming back here after a long day of snowboarding and wanting to stuff my face with some hot pizza and drinks! read more

By far one of the worst pizza places I've been to, even to pick up a pizza to go. The staff was very rude and unattentive.

I posted a great review yaers ago when I DJ'D one of my best friends memorial. A legendary pro snowboeader and amazing dad Adam Meriman. Hung out with the owner. But 2 nights ago I left because my friend was having issues parking. I left a beer with one sip and came back a few hours later only to threatened by a drunk bartender that i walked out on my tab. Which I came back to pay and order $40 more in food. I left after paying. Came back to day only to be told I had done this a month ago. I hadn't been there since December so that can be proven I was not the guy they thought was. It's not possble Been going there for o0ver 30 years. DJ'd and made them money. It now being run by privalidg ed malenials (bad spelling) done care. So until these clowns either get fires or quit I will not go back. If you have high standards for Italian food you may want to take a pass. The staff were very pleasant but this restaurant definitely has more of a pizza bar atmosphere. Think below average Olive Garden meets raucous sports bar, with mediocre food. I had the gluten free Salsiccia pasta. My pasta was over cooked and the sauce was not made in house. Very average. My friend got the Veal Piccata which he described as "rubbery". I am amazed this restaurant has ratings as high as they do. Maybe people like the pizza? The ambience is loud. The off duty staff were enjoying themselves tremendously at the bar. (Note: they do not offer gluten free pizza contrary to some reviews that are out there.) read more

My husband, 2 young kids and I came to Vendetta's this evening for dinner. We wanted to sit on the patio because we had our dog with us and...Covid. The hostess sat us and then we waited for someone to serve us. Given its November and ski season, it was definitely cold so we wanted to have the heat lamps near our table. Since no one else was on the patio (see photo) I asked my husband to move another heat lamp to our table. As he was moving it, the owner/manager runs out and starts screaming at my husband to stop moving it. My husband immediately stopped and apologized. The manager then just yelled, "Don't move my heater," dragged the heater back where it was and went back inside. We were shocked and upset by the way he handled it. I then went inside to talk to him and inform the waiter that we were canceling our order. Once inside, I tried telling the manager that he could've communicated to us in a better way and I did not appreciate him screaming at us given: 1) No one else was on the patio, 2) There were no signs saying not to move the heater, 3) My young children witnessed him screaming at us, and 3) We honestly meant no harm. He then proceeded to tell me, "I wasn't screaming. If you want to see screaming, you have no idea. I don't care. Don't move my patio heater." He had no remorse and couldn't have cared less about us or our business. In a time when hospitality providers should be embracing their customers, not just for the survival of their business, but the well being of their employees, this guy did the opposite. I apologized to the waiter, who was innocent in all of this, and we took our business elsewhere. read more

With all the options in Vail, you'd think everyone would bring their "A" game. Not this place... We sat in the subterranean dining room because we wanted to order from the restaurant menu (first mistake) and order a pizza from the bar kitchen too. As we were seated, the waiter let us know that there was a massive 1 hour wait for a pizza. WTH! The good news was that slices were easier to get quicker, so the pizza craving member of our party ordered two slices and the rest of us ordered from the menu. My SO and I shared a caprese salad (second mistake, how do you screw up tomato slices and mozzarella cheese?! Tomatos are supposed to be soft and ripe, not hard and unchewable) and I ordered the gnocchi (third mistake - the absolute worst gnocchi I've ever had! Gnocchi should be soft and melt in your mouth, not crunchy and tasteless). I do not recommend anyone go here for anything more than a pizza and some beers. The bar kitchen seems to know what they're doing; the restaurant kitchen not so much. read more

Food here is okay, usually. We made the mistake of letting them seat us downstairs. A Our server was really not good, messed up a modification on one dish, didn't run pizza timely from upstairs which resulted in cold food, then didn't check on us until we were done. I wouldn't have sent anything back at that point anyway since we would and did eat it; just one of those where it's not right but it's not wrong enough to make a fuss. Server eventually after we were completely done did ask how things were and I told her about the issues. She offered to bring a manager and I declined. I just wanted to get my kids home and to bed. The part that miffed me was she faked the number of covers from 5 up to 7 to trigger auto-gratuity. To be clear, I almost never tip under 20%. In this case I might have gone as low as 15% for the sheer lack of care from start to finish. So maybe she saved $6? I decided it wasn't worth staying to argue. My family and I went here to get something to eat and we were waiting to be served for about 15 minutes. The place didn't seem busy and it was like the staff was avoiding eye contact with us. I've worked in restaurants before and I understand if they were busy or short staffed, but when I was a hostess, I made sure that the people I sat got helped. If they haven't gotten helped in 8-10 minutes, I would check in with their server and/or tell the table something like, "Sorry for the wait, but your server will be with you shortly. Could I get you guys some waters?" Maybe the hostess sat us in a place without a server but who knows. All we knew is that the staff here just didn't care. We left, went to a different restaurant, and got helped and served immediately. I'm not sure was was going on with Vendettas, but with this experience and reading other reviews, they need to get their act together read more

The first time I came here I grabbed a drink and slice of pizza and sat outside for lunch. Service was quick, the drink was good, and the pizza was fantastic. Would have given 5 stars. The second time I came back for dinner. We were told the pizza was behind and would take longer. Ordered an appetizer and 2 pizzas. 30 min go by, no appetizer no pizzas. 45 min and finally a pizza comes, but it was made wrong and we never got the appetizer. Pleasant food and very low cost, but the fried calamari isn't worthy, #mediocre service. We sat outside and to enjoy the weather, the Hispanic lady came and presented the menus, she asked what we would drink, so I asked if they have Yuengling, she replied (I never heard of that), so I thought it was a language barrier since it's not her first language, and repeated twice more, and mentioned Yuengling America's Oldest Beer, she laughed and replied again, never heard of it. Anyway, overall was ok, just the service was very limited, and like only capturing the order and that's it. But the food was worth, simply avoid the Calamari. read more

I really struggled with thinking of how to rate this place because it had some high highs and low lows. Overall, the experience was decent. It's in the heart of Vail village, so you really can't beat the ambiance. We also were able to get a table without a reservation during prime apré ski time, so that was a huge plus. We ordered the buratta to start with and this was easily the highlight of the meal. I love buratta as is, but the pairing with arugula, roasted garlic, and roasted red peppers was seriously excellent. That said, my main of spaghetti e meatballs was underwhelming. I'll preface it with the fact that I'm Italian, so I tend to be pretty picky about Italian food in general. That said, the pasta was over cooked, which is an easy thing to fix. The meatballs were okay and marinara sauce was in need of salt or just some flavor in general. Overall, the meal was edible, just left me wanting a bit more, especially for $25. The pizzas coming out looked pretty good, so I'd come back to give those a try as opposed to the pasta. Our experience with the staff was excellent: everyone from the hostess to our server was kind and very accommodating. Definitely worth a stop for appetizers and drinks. I would honestly just avoid the pasta dishes. read more
