I do not recommend Venetian Nails. I came in for dip and a gel pedicure an hour and a half prior to the salon closing. The nail tech was in a hurry the entire appointment. The tech questioned everything I asked for-color, length, shape, etc. The tech was very rough with both my nails and toes. I was cut multiple times with the drill. They buffed my skin, and left me with scabs along the base of my cuticles. Another staff member asked for my payment while my hands were still under the gel light. It was very clear they all just wanted to go home for the evening. It was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

Went in for a basic gel pedicure and dip manicure. When I got home noticed my feet were still rough on the bottom and had never been scrubbed. My gel polish on my toes started peeling and chipping within 3 days when normally it last months. It's been 2 weeks and 4 dip nails have popped off. Not impressed. Not sure if it was a lack of properly prepping and priming, but neither of those issues should be happening. read more

I have been going to Venetian Nails since they opened and have always had a nice experience. I went in yesterday, March 12, 2023 and it was not busy. I didn't have an appointment. I got the nail tech, Thanh Nguyen (at least that's who I sent a Venmo tip too) and he was very rude and I felt very uncomfortable with him. When I sat down he started pushing back my cuticles and I asked him if he used water to soften them. I thought this was a legit question. He got mad and said "let me do my job! I have been doing this for 22 years"! I really wanted to get up and leave but decided maybe he's having a bad day. After this experience I will not go in there anymore. There are way too many other nail salons (one on every corner) to feel uncomfortable. I did tip him because I always tip for services. He did do a good job but I was afraid to say anything to him. Went to Venetian Nail Spa at Paddock Shops yesterday. I've been here for pedicures many times. When I walked in at about 1 pm the place was almost empty: three manicure customers and one pedicure when I walked in. Ten minutes after being sealed in a soak bath a woman walks by a d without looking my way said I needed to choose the type I want. I asked for a basic. When she started the pedicure she immediately started to upswell me on a "$55 pedicure. I declined and she brought it up twice more. She never smiled nor made any eye contact. I had set my timer on my Apple Watch when she started work on me. I turned the timer off after putting in my shoes and socks, paying, and walking to my car-- elapsed time was 16 minutes 34 seconds. That speaks for itself! When I got home, I checked the work and found uneven cuts on the nails indicating a poor job. This person was not interested in her job and in my opinion should look for differs work. I won't be going back to this place, ever. read more

There were plenty of technicians. I was not "up sold" on my pedicure. I was shown a variety of options. No pressure. My massage was great and my nails looked pretty when I was done. I will return. Pedicure was minimal at best for 35.00 and was past on to an inexperienced person who made several mistakes along with burning my cuticles.. after complaint.. I moved again to A gentlemen name "T" . He attempted to fix the lumps of acrylics on my nails and did ok. Sad as I was offered 10% discount of 110.00 having to pay for a full set and pedicure when I only went in for a "fill". I have used this nail salon four times. Each time I have had a different Nail Tech. I always get a dip with light pink in a French Manicure. On my last visit 10/28 my Tech was Mike. Never use him for a French Manicure. My nails look awful - like he just went over the previous polish. The finish is not smooth - bumpy with ridges. I WILL NEVER USE MIKE AGAIN. Manicures are mediocre here but what really concerns me is that they don't wash the bowls that you soak your fingers in between the customers. They take a bowl from the top of the pile and then put the bowl back in the same place when finished. There is no separate shelf for used bowls. read more

I leave this place two stars because the quality of the manicure was not good, and the manicurist was rushed and impersonal. A manicure here is $17! That's five- six bucks more than most places. So, I would expect a higher level of manicure, yet I was disappointed. When I asked the manicurist twice to shorten my nails, she ignored me. I think they may not speak English (ugh frustrating!) I think that if you work at a nail place though, you should understand the word "shorter". Also, they play loud annoying music here. It like music out of a war video game or something- very dramatic and strange. The decor is nice: granite countertops, big waterfall glass things, nice chairs. However, this does not make up for the staff. I could have done just as good, if not a better job at home. The whole manicure experience was 20 mins. This place is like a factory with so many chairs and so many people running through. Again, very impersonal. The only way this could have been worse is if the manicurist did a bad paint job. As far as any place I have gotten my nails done in Louisville, this was the cream of the crop. The sanitation of all the nail tools was done right in front of me, which is very important. Everyone has always been nice, and their english was excellent. I have pink and white acrylic nails, and this is the only place I've ever been to that can do them correctly. They look great and I typically only end up back for fills in every three weeks. The set up of the nail area is a little strange, where all the tables are next to each other. Overall, this is the most skilled and clean nail salons around. The price is higher than anywhere else in town, but in this area of town, it can be expected. read more

Julie was the employee who did my pedicure tonight and let me tell you, she was the WORST! I have fungus in both big toenails, so it requires acrylic nails while they're growing back. I specifically told the gentleman at the counter when I checked in that I would like someone who is VERY gentle. Here's a rundown of my experience: 1) whatever product they use for the acrylic made my toenail beds burn badly. They were on fire for a several minutes before that finally started subsiding. Pain experience #1. 2) She hurt my cuticles on both big toes and a couple other toes. She also slightly cut the top of the knuckles on my right foot while she was filing the toenails because she was going so fast. Pain experiences #2, #3, & #4. (My pic shows how red & sore my big toe area is) With that being said, imagine having someone continuously spray alcohol and get callous removal gel on top of your feet on the spots that have now been cut. It burns and is very painful!! 3) The color I chose for my toes she said was too sheer due to having the acrylics because you could see under it. So she chose the shade next to it as a base to make it opaque and then would put the sheer color on top. After my toes had been completely painted, she then asks if I like the color. It's hideous and not what I wanted at all, but I chose to get gel paint and it was 8:00 and too late to change anything. At this point I become aggravated and did some eye rolling and my face looked very unhappy. That's the extent of my rudeness toward Julie at this point. Now... We go to the front counter where she shows me the color I picked from the swatch, which is not even close to the gross color I got. Julie then proceeds to YELL at me in front of the other employee at the counter at how she's mad at ME and started berating me because I was being difficult??!?! Are you KIDDING ME?!? She continued to yell as she walked away about how she's done with me and how I've been difficult the whole time (I couldn't hear half the crap she was saying because of her distance and the music playing), but she was obviously insulting me. Meanwhile, the man at the counter keeps telling her to be quiet. I couldn't believe this nutjob!! Now I'm defending myself and I'm raising my voice so she can hear me over her own loud mouth and the music that's playing... that if I had done to her feet what she did to mine, there's no way she would have been so patient about it all. So here we are yelling back and forth with other customers still in the shop. I told her she can come back to the counter and have a conversation with me, but she was too scared to come close. I've never seen such an unprofessional employee. I was never rude to her during my pedicure, even through all the pain she was inflicting. I can't even put into words how livid I am right now. I asked for a simple design.. instead of requesting help from a fellow nail tech, the worker proceeded to take over an hour just to paint my nails until giving up and leaving my nails poorly done (thick acrylic, incomplete design). I disappointingly accepted it and moved on. When it came time to pay, they did not disclose every little enhancement you ask for will be an additional charge. I was charged $83 total for the shape, upgraded nail polish, and the incomplete design on top of the regular full set rate of $52 that I thought I would be paying. They could do much better at informing their customers of an additional charge rather than surprising them at the counter. I got a pedicure and manicure with my mom for a girls day and they cut my cuticles twice to the point of bleeding and overcharged us by 30$. They said the nail polish I picked out is going to be 5$ extra because it was glossier (not gel just regular polish) and ended up charging 10$ extra for the nails and toes each. I've been to nail salons all of my life and I'm Super disappointed as it seems as they only wanted to rip us off and add more costs to basic things. I've been coming here for a long time as a special treat, maybe 2-3 times annually. I was a little nervous reading some of the recent negative reviews bc I haven't been in almost a year due to Covid; however, I had a great experience! Kayla really took her time and it seemed like she was paying a lot of attention to detail. I never felt like she was rushing and the service she provided, from scrubbing my feet to a hot stone massage to my polish were all top-notch. There was a slight up charge for the OPI polish I selected, which I don't love bc I feel like that's pretty standard at every nail salon. But at the end of the day, I'm here for special pampering so I didn't mind as much. If I was coming on a regular basis, that might add up more. read more

I don't usually get my nails my done but I had a fun experience doing my nails here. It was an okay service. They don't really put a lot of effort on pedicure because they literally just put soap on my feet and washed it off. I honestly felt like they care more about just getting the job done than satisfying the customer and they are not very dedicated. Rant alert: I absolutely NEVER do this partly because I work in the service industry and I know what it's like to work for commission and be on the receiving end of a bad review. I am the poster child for customer service and take great pride in doing the right thing for my guests. In my line of work, I have to do things I don't always like to do in order to take care of other people. I have only left one bad yelp review in my entire life. Today will be number two. I am not quick to leave a bad review because I know how personally the person on the other side takes it and how hurtful it can be. Today I was wildly disappointed. I went to have a pedicure and a dip manicure at VENETIAN nails in the paddock shop. My toes turned out great, but my nails were a disaster. Mind you, I am about to for vacation and then Derby next week so I was excited to have my nails done. You could tell the nail technician was new resulting in a horrible job. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I didn't like them nor did I have any more time because I was on my lunch break and had already spent over an hour in the salon. When I left work, I called the salon and asked for a refund for my nails. I explained how horrible they were; the length did not match, the shape did not match, they were extremely thick, dip, polish on my cuticle, and several extremely crooked nails. At no point was I told me that a refund was not an option, but rather, she asked me to come in so that she could look at them. I reiterated that I was on my way to catch a flight and would not be able to have a touchup. I simply wanted a refund for the nail portion of my bill so that I could get them re-done while I was out of town. I made the trip anyway only for her to make a huge stink in the middle of the store. After she admitted they were horrible but because she could fix them, she refused to give me a refund. It was my fault that I didn't have time to allow her to fix them. I had my friend Peter with me and she had the audacity to ask him "why don't you just buy her new nails?!" Im sorry but this is unacceptable. I was appalled! It was incredibly embarrassing. The original nail technician was still there in addition to the manager and now, three new employees that were inserting themselves. In the end, I lost $93.00 and have crappy nails. If it were possible to give this salon 0 stars I would! I have never been treated so rudely and had such poor service in my entire life. I stopped by this location after class one day because it was literally 3 doors down and my regular spot didn't have any available time slots before work. I signed in and the receptionist asked for me to pick a color and then walked me back to a chair for a polish change on my toes followed by an acrylic fill-in. Initially, I thought "awesome, there wasn't a wait and I'm going to be out of here fast". Once in the chair Lyndsy/Lyndsi (I can't remember how she spelled it but remember it wasn't the typical way) sat in front of me and started taking off my toe polish. She never introduced herself or said she would be my technician just went to work. She then asked if I wanted a pedicure, I politely declined saying I didn't have time before work, she nodded and then asked if I wanted to get a gel pedicure and went into a diatribe about gel nails. Once again I declined and just asked for a regular polish change on my toes. She completed my toes and walked me to a table to start on my nails and then disappeared for 10 minutes. I thought that was strange but then thought maybe a different technician did my nails. She finally returned and as she was taking off my polish she kept touting the gel nail benefits and how I need to have that kind of nail instead of an acrylic fill-in or that I surely had time for a manicure. I once again politely declined and the entire time she filled-in/painted my nails she told me how I didn't know what I was doing by getting the acrylic and needed gel. At this point I was over it and just nodded. I handed her my card to pay before she painted my nails and asked her to put the tip on there. Apparently they don't do this and only want cash as a tip, uhm post this somewhere other than the drying station where you take me AFTER I've paid. (If it is posted somewhere else I didn't see it). So I apologized that I didn't have cash and was unaware of their policy. She was clearly perturbed and it went even further downhill after that. As she was painting my nails she smudged the paint and didn't take the top coat all the way to the side/bottom. When I asked if she could fix it she told me she had another appointment. WOW. I understand you may be mad I didn't know your tipping policy but really wouldn't you want me to come back and tip you the next time?!
