Wow, we have been in the area for 6 years and never ate here because of the poor reviews. That has changed. We heard about the new management/owners and decided to give it a try. The meatballs are terrific we ordered as an appetizer. I plan to come back for a meatball sandwich. The pizza is very good. Thin crust with a good sauce. I don't know who cooked my pizza but I think they cooked it on a trash can in the sun it tasted like rat poison. The garlic bread wasn't too bad but man if you mess that up you got something wrong with you. Yup I said it...haha I've been to Venezia several times, with family visiting from out of town and with my daughter and with my boo! Service has always been great! We enjoy the thin toasty crust! This is mostly because we like the idea of being able to eat a whole pie and not feel guilty lol The sauce on this pizza is perfect! It's zesty but won't give you heart burn later. I also enjoy the fresh ingredients! We ordered the Venezia special which has peppers, onions, sausage, and pepperoni. You can taste every morsel, nothing overpowered the flavors. I appreciate this in a pizza because they have so many layers. We asked for a little salt on the side, just a touch to rub the bottom of the slice on it. Perfection! Tasty pizzas that we got as takeout. We got the Special and the Margherita and both were delicious. We ordered Mediums for both "flavors" and it was too much food for 3 people. But that's ok, because we ate the leftovers the next morning for breakfast (and it was still yummy). I called and ordered the pizza since they don't have a way to order online. It took me about 15 minutes to drive to the restaurant and by the time I got there, the pizza was already ready! So fast! The only negative is lack of parking in downtown South Haven. This is the worst pizza we have ever had; however, the experience was nothing short of divine. Looking for a Saturday meal for our group of 9, we found Venezia, and despite the mediocre reviews, we paid no attention and decided to order. Ordering was fast. Within 15 seconds our order for 3 large pizzas was hastily taken; 15 seconds later, I'm sure, our pizzas had been assembled, judging by the state they arrived in. In 15 minutes our order would be ready, which seemed quite fast. "They must be tossing a couple frozen pies in the oven", I joked. In hindsight, this would have been preferable. When we arrived, our last pie was just coming out of the oven. They frisbee tossed it with college senior-like precision into the box, as we can only presume based on what we found once we arrived home. The pizza was consumed, so it was, in fact, edible in the loosest sense of the word. "How many stars?" We asked our 4 year old, who will eat anything if you tell him it's pizza. 21 stars he said. Out of how many? 100. We now understand the lack of covid protocols; perhaps if you lose your sense of taste then you will be tricked into coming back. Despite the food, we certainly had a wonderful experience while our taste buds were physically assaulted. Fast and great tasting pizza! Extremely busy Saturday night but still good service and friendly.

First, the good: On a Saturday night, we walked in at 6 PM, ordered 5 large pizzas and were able to walk out with them in 25 minutes. The pizzas were provided as ordered, they were hot, and quite edible. It was fast, and it was not unreasonably priced (roughly $75 for 5 large pizzas). The questionable: A very new employee was obviously struggling under a dinner rush and was largely being ignored by her coworkers. Shamelessly eavesdropping, it was pretty clear that undercharging customers and near to tears at having to pay the difference out of her pocket. I'm not sure what the deal is, but either the new employee was being allowed to fail on purpose or the ownership and more seasoned employees just could not be bothered to help out. The bad: The pizza is not great. It tastes randomly burnt. It's largely edible, but some of the slices are less-so. Good luck trying to get a kid to eat this pizza - they may eat some of it, but will balk at a piece that appears fine and tastes like charcoal. Also, because the crust is incredibly thin, the pizza isn't all that filling... also a problem when trying to feed kids. read more

Hard to believe a town like this had pizza this bad. Should have listened to the reviews I read before. Service wasn't bad so they have that. All pizza is thin crust just FYI, I like that so I was ok with it. Sauce wasn't flavorful at all. Our special came out with a ton of char from the oven on the bottom of the pie that overwhelmed the flavor. Tasted like charcoal. Our kids cheese pizza was the same. I wanted to tell them but nobody ever asked if everything was good or for feedback so we paid and walked out when done. Being picky about thin crust pizza as we are a bit spoiled by the amazing thin crust pizza places in Chicago and suburbs, we are not generous if the pizza is just okay! This place met or exceeded our expectations. There were long waits for the sit down restaurants we wanted to try and hence decided to go for pizza as we were a group of 15. The service was quick and pleasant. The prices are reasonable. The options available are plenty. The veggie pizzas we had were so delicious! The crust was thin and crispy, just the way we enjoy it! You'll get along with the pizza at this place if you know what St. Louis pizza is. First off, St. Louis pizza is a real thing. People outside St. Louis doesn't believe in it because they've never heard of it and people in St. Louis don't believe in it because it's just pizza to them. But it's real. St. Louis pizza uses essentially unleavened crust. So think cracker thin crust, not just Donatos thin. And then they use provel cheese--which is like velveta if velveta were trying to be provolone instead of cheddar. Then St. Louis uses really thick toppings, sliced chunky. And finally it's served party cut (round pizza cut into squares). I don't know if Venezia's owners are from St. Louis. But the above describes exactly what we got out here in Michigan. My older son had never had St. Louis pizza and didn't like it. My younger son and I were hungry and so ran with it. It's definitely an acquired taste and not the norm. read more
