No hostess to greet us waited a while. Finally she showed up and we were told we HAD to wine taste indoors on a 70 degree sunny day. Two other customers were served before us and we were there FIRST! Second employee brought our wine. No one ever asked how it was, did we need anything, or want to buy some wine. A customer who was outdoors came in to pay with their dog and it was barking in the winery. We left and no one even cared that we were going. We arrived in Geneva late afternoon and called an hour before closing to see if we could get in. As it was a slow night, they were getting ready to close, but said they would stay open for us. Had a table ready right in front of the music, guitarist, London McDaniel. Kim was our server, gracious, friendly, very nice and made us feel welcome. Had the gnocchi, chicken marsala, house salads, desert and a bottle of wine. Food was amazing! Wine was delicious! Service... the best. and the music, soothing and just right to accompany our incredible meal. Everything about this dinner was incredible and memorable. Disclaimer: we are not wine drinkers.... but, "When in Rome." We've been in the area for a couple weeks for a project and have made a point to visit local vineyards. This is definitely a larger, more commercial feeling one. We came here for lunch and a wine tasting. Their menu was simple and left some to be desired. It was really just salads and wraps. The wine list seemed extensive and we enjoyed our tasting. I think if you're winery hopping it's worth a stop. This place LOOKED really nice, and it had a beautiful patio overlooking the vineyard. However, we did not have a good experience. They advertise serving good food fast. It came out fast, but it was terrible. Our pizza was cold in the center with pieces of cheese not melted. The salad had barely any dressing, and chicken ($5 extra) that was reheated, Luke warm, dry and crusty. Worst of all was an unidentifiable black clump of something mixed into the salad that left us both gagging. Since you pay when you order the food, you also choose to tip at that time. Not sure who you are tipping as the only service you get is someone to drop off your food plates. Lastly, my $9 glass of Pinot Grigio tasted like bad wine that had been watered down. Breath taking... When u step out of your car and enter the facility you'd swear you magically stepped from the Finger Lakes to Italy. I could have sat on the back patio for my entire weekend and just enjoyed the imaginary trip to an elegant winery hidden away in the rolling hills of Italy. Besides the view I have to say the servers were knowledgable and welcoming, you almost expect a level of pretentiousness when you see the majestic villa but there wasn't even a hint found on anyone I interacted with. I was a DD and enjoyed a delicious cup of robust coffee as my wife talked w the server and enjoyed all of the wines she tried. I wish I was a DD and we hadn't just suffered through the worst lunch of my life at Edgar's. Because I wish I had the opportunity to experience more than just the atmosphere but it alone was worth the 5 Stars. read more

Visited in 2014 and had a blast the wines were good. We tasted the more expensive wines because we were looking to buy a bottle for a special occasion two years in the future. After suggestions from the girl behind the bar we bought a 45 dollar bottle of wine to be consumed two years later. I continued to ask to make sure it would be good in two years......well my first child was born two years later and my wife's first drink since before pregnancy is a glass of this Ventosa Cab. We open the bottle and it is filled with sediment and is so bitter you can even sip it. I contacted Ventosa and got a quick response and they told me to supply them with an address and they would send me a comparable replacement......this was over a year ago now and after multiple more emails I have not received any wine and no response to my emails. I say if you like the wine buy it but you better drink it quick. read more

When Ventosa came to the Finger Lakes we were blown away with the architecture and the views of Seneca Lake. We watched this winery grow from an unknown to a local destination as their wines improved and were marketed well by Italian men in suits. We did not go to Ventosa often but when we did we always enjoyed ourselves. Our last visit made us realize this winery is not for us. We sampled their offerings, bought several bottles and gave some away as gifts this past holiday season. What I now find out after searching venues for our wedding is they refuse to accommodate same sex couples. They have had my last review taken down but the truth is they will not accommodate same sex couples. They would not even give us a reason for this. Avoid. There are MANY vineyards in the Finger Lakes that will be happy to have your same sex business, just not Ventosa. read more

Stopped here on a busy Saturday afternoon. Immediately we were surprised by how beautiful of a venue this place was. It's a Tuscan style building with a large vineyard in front before the water. They do offer some lunch options, so we got a pizza and a glass of wine and sat out on the porch. It really was an incredible view. Same thing happened to me that happened to the other person. They will not let you taste their wines on their late night because they have music and BOGO. I only came because the owner posted this was not the case. The tasting room manager told me that is the policy. They should have that on the website as a Policy. We visit Ventosa Vineyard quite often in the summer for a glass of wine, beautiful sunset, band and gluten free pizza! I wish there were more gluten free options to choose from but absolutely love the Deluxe! It is one of my favorite gluten free pizza's in the area. My significant other often gets the prime rib panini(not gluten free) and says it's very good. Staff is very knowledgeable and careful about celiac or gluten free. read more

The customer service is by far the WORST I've experienced. Not only are they biased, but they don't have any wine knowledge. They read off a card and don't hide it. Our bartender was extremely biased. Since we looked uneducated in wine, we were treated like we didn't need explanations. Getting crackers to cleanse our palettes was a fight to the death. When we got them, they quickly took them away. Forget about rinsing your glass. Oh! And they're not flexible. You don't taste 6 wines you taste 5. If you want to taste 1 or 2 then buy a glass it's out of the question. I watched another bartender fight with an elderly woman over that. Absolutely horrific. I will NOT buy wine (even though it was decent) at a place with that type of sloppiness. read more

I attended my cousins wedding here this past August. The ceremony was held outdoors a little walk over. I wish there was a path though. Heels + grass isnt fun. The reception was held inside and was decorate beautifully. The staff was great. The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were amazing. The food was delicious. My dish was the stuffed haddock which tasted great, my family members had the angus and chicken dishes (which of course I had to taste) and they were also good. The only thing I had an issue with was that at the buffet there wasnt any labels near the food, nor was there anyone there to tell us what it was. I didnt mind because I didnt care but then for those who are picky or have food allergies like some people did. They didnt get to enjoy :/ I tried a house wine but I dont remember which, but it was good. All in all, nice place. read more

It is pretty perfect! We did not want to do the entire wine circuit so going by yelp reviews, we opted for both wine tasting as well as lunch here. And boy did they deliver. It was a bit past lunch time and we didn't want to drink on an empty stomach so we ordered our lunch first. The place is leisurely and relaxed. Its not a fast paced restaurant you expect in a tourist place. So we were in no hurry and eating family style so we did not mind a little delay. But when our half of our food did not come out after a good 30 mins, we had to raise our hand. I am used to most places making excuses, giving a small discount or just brushing it under the rug. Not this place. They went out of their way to make up for the delay. They absolutely refused to charge us for the late food, they also did not charge us for the wine tasting. And now the wine tasting... the sommelier was very knowledgeable about the history of the place as well as the region, the wines prevalent in the area and engaging to the entire group. You might say our experience was much better because they were making up for the late food. But we had no idea the testing was free and they were under no obligation of giving such stellar service. This is a place that prides on its service and loves the business it is in. They go out of their way for their guests and that makes it a pretty perfect place in my book! read more
