They really are stuggling with running the operation. Empty tables on patio/deck but they can't seat you. Decided to do wine tasting instead of cafe. Although you can order food to take outside, they said no to ordering food in tasting room. Some rule? Lady was confused serving us and got our wines wrong. Starting giving us someone elses wine selections. BTW, our table had a number, go figure. Overall, not so good. Great views. No idea if food is any good. Funny, when I paid, cashier asked me if we had any food besides the wine tasting, REALLY?? Would have liked cheese spread, was told no. read more

One of the most beautiful wineries in the Finger Lakes! They have a large variety of wines, both white and red. The Vino Rosso blend is my fave. I recommend any of their dry reds. The gift shop is nice and the cafe is delicious. I love they have gluten free pizza, even thou it's not listed on the menu and you have to ask for it. So glad I stopped. I was looking for a winery with a cafe and this place is perfect. I started with the wine tasting. Such a deal with 4 wines for $3. I fell in lust with the Sangiovese so I had a glass with the cheese plate. Sitting out on the patio was relaxing and I didn't feel rushed at all. A few couples were sitting outside & as they'd leave their table a dark haired girl with a ponytail all in black was angrily pushing the chairs & tables away to stack them & not use them. Lunch today was excellent! The cafe was not what we expected though. As our party entered there was no host/hostess to greet us, so we approached a man that was rearranging tables to let him know we had arrived and had reservations. He had to go check with another person to find our table. That person then directed us to a line at a counter to place our lunch order. We got in line and waited to place our order, then received a number to place on our table for the food runner. We sat outside on the patio and the view of Seneca Lake was beautiful. Our food came out really quickly and we had no issues with anything. I had the French Dip. It came with homemade chips, a dill pickle spear, Au jus, and horsey sauce. It was lovely. As we were enjoying our meal, the food runner was constantly walking by with orders yelling out table numbers. So, feedback to the owners: 1.) Please make sure the front of the house is properly staffed to greet customers. 2.) Please work with the food runners and tell them to use their eyes to find the order numbers, or work out a different table number system. Overall I do recommend Ventosa Vineyards for the food/drinks/views. read more

I came here part of the Lake Seneca wine trail and they gave the best food, two whole chicken thighs! They specialize in more dry wine here. They modeled the Vineyard after a Tuscan Vineyard so the whole thing looks Italian. When you sit out back you can see vines, trees, and Lake Seneca. Very nice relaxing spot to sit. One of my favorite wineries on Seneca lake as far as wines and views go, and they also have homemade pizzas which are so necessary on wine tours! Their land is beautiful and their winery is directly on the vineyard so they are so awesome for pictures! I love this spot! The only reason I give them a 4 rather than a 5 is the air of sophistication, which is not a problem and I usually love, but sometimes they come off as pretty rude as a result. They are very welcoming when you walk in, I just wish the girls serving the wines would be a little more amicable, they have put a damper on my experience here more than a few times unfortunately. read more

I wish that zero stars was an option!!!! When we pulled up to the winery, there were no cars in the parking lot but we weren't too concerned because it was only a little after 10 am. We were immediately struct by the view- the perfect "Lakes and Grapes" photo op. But that is as far as it went. Not a single employee spoke to us. We stood at one end of the tasting bar for several minutes. A cluster of several employees were at the other end of the tasting bar, chatting and completely ignoring us. We left, without anyone even noticing. As we walked down the steps, an employee on a smoke break told us to have a nice day... not a good way at all to begin our day on the Seneca Lake East side wine trail! Wow! Came with a group of 5 people and we all enjoyed our wines. We are mostly into reds and dry wines. Not one wine was disappointing. The food was also noteworthy! We had two flatbreads- genovese and garlic- and they were incredible. We had a minor slip up with a server that clearly no one was upset about and she treated us to chocolate covered strawberries. We started with a tasting- Samantha was amazing! Very knowledgeable, very congenial and not at all pushy. She really took our like likes in to consideration and nailed it. Then we went for a glass and some food. Not quite as fabulous. The outdoor tables were full so the hostess took our name and my number and said she would call. She never did. If she had called there would be missed calls on my phone, so either she called the wrong number or someone isn't being honest. We went back in and she seated 2 tables in front of us. Completely unapologetic. Ordering process was smooth. Food took over 30 minutes to come out- for a single pizza and baked Brie. Waiters were wandering around the patio unable to locate tables, very disorganized. We finally found one server wandering around with a Brie. Great wines, very established place. An estate winery, so they grow the grapes they make into wine, instead of bringing in wines. Great view of the grapes and the lake off the back deck. Went for a wine tasting & lunch with my wife. We only stayed for the wine tasting as the staff was rather rude. She was eager to have us pay, poured our 1st wine & then disappeared. Couldn't take the boredom of hanging around the family homestead in upstate, jumped in the car and headed out for a drive. We were quite pleased to stumble upon this little spot on the shores of Seneca Lake. We decided to grab lunch, each opting for a panini of sorts but starting first with their local cheese plate. Boy were we happy! Each of us thought it was probably the best panini we had ever enjoyed and the cheese platter had a nice mix of cheeses all of which were delightful. For the wine aficionados they also identify which wines their sommelier recommends with each menu item. While I wasn't in a wine mood, my fiancé quite enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay. After lunch we wandered out back overlooking the vineyard where hands were picking grapes with the gorgeous lake in the background. Jamie was fantastic! Ventosa was our first winery after a 5 hr drive and I must say Jamie was great. Very educational and very personable. We did not get the wood fire pizza but it smelled fantastic and honestly we will probably come back later this week for it and the library wine. Yea... ask about the library wine! *chef kisses. They also took out a paper map, gasp but it was more helpful then any website and pointed us to all the good shops, wineries, distillers and shopping. Honestly fantastic experience.
