They are falsely reporting things to the federal bureau to intentionally keep me from prospering in life. Sad thing is I don't know why. I'm making payments and they refuse to report them and she's telling me she's only going to report what I either pay off completely the account. Which will still never show that I've been knocking this debt down. They want will leave me with a 76 month no payment on my credit. Beware of IDENTITY DATA Breach and lack of them fixing the issue. Ventura county credit union had a data breach due to an employee's email and my son's information was part of it. I have been trying to resolve the situation since September 2023 to only get the run around. They sent me an identity monitoring for experian code that would only work for an adult but my son is a minor. Experian told me I needed a code for a minor and go back to the bank. I went back to the bank, they said someone named Lana would call me. I verified my information in person with the branch and never received a call or email back from Lana. They said she called but I have not seen anything in my phone. They got me in touch with someone named Sean higher up, who also does not resolve the situation. It has been months of trying to resolve. Save the headache and your security, and go somewhere else. Updating this review 12/26 due to the response from VCCU: The data breach in the letter referenced by VCCU was from Dec 2022. It has been a year that incident. In knowing which accounts had Personal Identifiable information leaked, VCCU knew a minor's information was leaked and failed to establish having minors codes. I have recently been told that VCCU will be expanding services with Experian to obtain minor codes, not get more minor codes. read more

I love this bank. Every teller is excellent and I actually started my credit with them using a secured credit card. Easy to do business with, there's never a line and their fees are non-existent. The only thing is they did have a data breach, but honestly it didn't affect me luckily...AT&T's data breach affected me worse than the banks. This credit union is amazing. The staff has been nothing but great. Kelly and Juan have been amazing and so helpful. They are honestly the only reason why I moved my kids accounts here too. Juan was so amazing when he was doing a car loan for us a while back that as of now he is the only reason we have done 2 more car loans since. I had a question this week and Kelly was so prompt with getting back to me. Not sure i would continue my accounts long term without them. I have an account at a non credit union in town and you go in circles for stuff. I had suggested to the business that I run to try our account at the MP office due to how attentive Kelly was. Now years later she is still as amazing. I started coming here a little after the Moorpark office opened because Juan had helped my Mom with her stuff and she was impressed. read more

I wish I could remove the mandatory one star rating! Unfortunately, my wife was unable to change direct deposit information in time and her paycheck went to VCCU. However, GUESS WHAT... they are holding the deposit and are not showing it as available, imagine that. For some reason VCCU LOVES to hold your money and not make it available to you for as long as possible! Definitely not the industry standard! Navy Federal Credit Union gives access to funds right away. So, once again this bank proves to make the banking process very difficult for the consumer. read more

Please take the 1 star with consideration of the branch vs loan department. The branch is amazing, Kelly and her staff have always been helpful and friendly. However, the loan department is a mess. I do not recommend ever doing a loan with them. Payments don't get applied properly or on the day you pay them online then they charge you a late fee because they didn't apply it. I paid my loan off in full 3 weeks ago and the loan department acknowledged they had the money but they haven't applied it or closed the loan yet and keep charging me interest. The loan department I've learned is an outside servicing company, not bank staff so there doesn't seem to be much control over it and very little to no communication back to me. I will never do a loan with them again. read more

It's a "not for profit" but profit they must. When you make a deposit electronically it can take a few days,.If a payment is due and it's late they take the time to notify you, all good However if you accidentally use your courtesy pay (aka overdraft) because of a delay in a deposit clearing or you not knowing if fees until it's to late, etc you are charged the $30 fee. It becomes a domino effect, especially when you are temporarily unemployed. Before you know it you are charged hundreds in $ 30 fees within a 48 hour period which causes you sever financial damage. When you reach out to explain your current income situation you are met with a "Sorry but we can't change the policy" How about giving the member a electronic notification or phone call ( as they do if a payment is late) to notify them they are overdrawn and fees are building. It's hard to believe that for a "not for profit" that it truly costs them $30 for a computer to automatically reject a payment and if so why not a automated text or phone call for that $30???? Although counter staff are pleasant it makes you understand why these rechargeable (automatic payroll deposit) cards not associated with a traditional bank are increasing in popularity. Really impressed with the skills and efficiency of Terrance, the front teller who assisted me today. His polite and courteous manner was evident from the start of our business. Terrance knew how to rectify an ATM issue along with making a complicated transaction. From there I met Dillen who was also a great help with my account. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!! I opened an account on Jan 11th writing a check to fund the account from another local credit union. After setting up my account online I noticed that the money was deposited into the account BUT it had a "hold" on the funds until January 25! WTF I never in my life had funds held this long and at no time did anyone mention this to me while opening my account. I spoke with the guy who opened my account and got nowhere so I wrote online to this "wannabe" financial institution. Silly me I expected to be able to speak with a manager as to why this was happening and how it could be fixed. I received a response from someone with the title of Senior Member Service Officer who apologized and said she would forward my email to the "appropriate team" to ensure this matter is addressed. To me that means SOMEONE would contact me to discuss but this is not what happened. I got nada, zip, zero, zilch, just crickets from this place and so while my funds are still on hold for another 2 days I will be closing my newly opened account and going where my money and patronage are appreciated!! I originally went here because they are 5 minutes from my home, but obviously there are more important things than convenience!!! Save yourself the aggravation and find another credit union who does business in the 21st Century not the 19th! read more

So far, I'm happy with our decision to go with VCCU. I'm a fan of credit unions and happy to be a member of one that has so many convenient branches. The app is not my favorite and it makes remote deposit hit-and-miss. But that's ok because there is a branch everywhere you go in Ventura County. I'm really disappointed in the overall service at this bank. It has taken over four months to get a loan going. We have excellent credit, so that's not the issue. Opened my first credit union account there. The banker that helped me was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. He asked me about my family and I told him how my daughter had a dance competition that weekend. Fast forward to my second visit a month later, the banker with the beard remembered my daughters name and also asked how her dance competition went.
