Ventura's is one of those staple restaurants growing up at the shore and serves quantity meals that don't sacrifice quality! Felt like we had to have one of their "award winning" caesar salads since they boast it on the menu. It was definitely sizable so order to share. We enjoyed it. Not sure it would go in the books but it was really nice. Could have used some more croutons but loved the fresh shaved parm. The French onion soup is comforting and the pappardelle bolognese was such a treat! And because dessert goes to a separate stomach, we found room for a slice of the key lime pie which was absolutely worth every calorie! Ventura's offshore location is definitely larger and comfier than the beach location. The tables are roomier and the parking is easy. Though it can get a bit noisy but we asked to be seated away from the bar area which kept the noise level comfortable enough for conversation. We've had several amazing drinks during their happy hour on several occasions. They even had a house infused pineapple vodka one summer and it was really delicious. We always order their fried mozzarella and a fresh plain pie! We also k ike their Alfredo pasta dishes. They have solid Italian dishes. There can sometimes be a wait during the summer. We have never been to Ventura's and my fiancé's family has been vacationing in Ocean City for years and years. After our experience here, Ventura's has been added to our list of repeat restaurants. We arrived at 7pm with a party of 8 after calling ahead and putting our name on the list. After a short wait in a rather busy restaurant, we were shown to our table which was right in front of a beautiful (and huge!) brick fireplace. Our server, Lindsey, was fantastic all night. She came around frequently but not to the point where it was overbearing. She was professional, super kind, apologetic (even though she had no reason to be), and was great with the kids. It's not always easy finding a restaurant to accommodate parties of 8 with young children but Ventura's being a family-focused restaurant did a superb job. They also have a nice big sports bar with plenty of TVs that I can one day see myself sitting at. We came on Sunday which happens to be ALL DAY Happy Hour!! They have a select list of $7 margs and great deals on domestic drafts. I had a Guava Habanero Margarita and I would put it up there with the best margaritas I've ever had. It had a perfect amount of heat and which perfectly offset the sweetness. Lindsey told us they muddle fresh fruit for the drinks. My fiancé ordered their Espresso cocktail which was similar to an Espresso Martini but served in a rocks glass and poured over a large square cube. Both drinks were great and would order again. They also have some really good food deals on the happy hour menu including $6 pizza, a mountain of mussels, and a bunch of finger foods and appetizers. Of course being our first time here we had to order multiple different items to try as much as possible. We started with pizza and pizza bread -- which was delicious -- and let me tell you for $6 the pizza was fantastic and it was kid approved! The mussels (we chose red) were piled up and served in a delicious gravy, perfect for bread dipping. They were also cooked perfectly -- tender and definitely fresh. The Garlic Parmesan Fries were full of flavor and I loved the thick cut style fries -- crispy on the outside and soft & fluffy on the inside. The wings were a little bigger than I prefer (I know I'm a little odd -- I like smaller wings) but good nonetheless. Everyone also ordered entrees which it seemed like everyone enjoyed. I chose the Short Rib Grilled Cheese after it being recommended by Lindsey and all I can say is WOW! They loaded this sandwich with tender short rib and the combination of provolone and goat cheese melted throughout the sandwich made for a creamy and delicious bite. I would absolutely order this again and again but I have to be honest, every tray of food brought out that came by our table looked incredible. I'd definitely need to try something else at my next visit. Like I said, we had a great family experience here at Ventura's. It's a great place for families. They're well trained and equipped to handle large parties with children -- and even have coloring pages for the kids. The service we received all around from everyone involved was fantastic. The hostess, Lindsey our server, the food runners and bussers, everyone was respectful, professional, and added to the family friendly atmosphere. The food here is also top notch for a family branded restaurant and sports bar. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and you're getting quality food and huge portions. Venturas was always a frequent stop for me growing up. The Mussels are top notch and the caesar salad is just splendid. The service was great and the ambiance was perfect for a family dinner occasion while watching the Phillies. I do have one negative about Ventura's though. Dont get the buffalo chicken pizza. Omg, this place excited my food passion. It was a culinary delight. The place was filled with patrons, at the bar and in the dining rooms. The staff was fabulously fantastic and friendly. Although we were told there would be 15 minute wait-we were seated in less than five minutes. I was at the bar ordering a dirty martini/ Grey Goose that I took to the table. It was freaking delicious and enough for two drinks. Our server, Beyonce was angel. She LISTENED and got the my order and my dinner partner's dinner PERFECT! The ambience was perfect. It was easy to have conversation. I even had a conversation with a gentleman at the bar while he was waiting for his takeout order. I can't wait to get back again. First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. Went on. Saturday around 1pm so it was definitely busy but still got seating right away. Lots of seating and tables, large layout with bar, party rooms and open dining areas. Ordered the short ribbed grilled cheese which was probably the best grilled cheese I've ever eaten. Beautiful contrast of flavors from the cheese, to the short rib, to the acidity of balsamic glaze and arugula. Would definitely be back often for it. I really wanted to like this restaurant from all the good reviews but it was a miss for me. We came on a Saturday night so that 30 min wait was understandable. I ordered a glass of wine and my waitress totally forgot until I reminded her. It took over an hour for our main course to come out. The waitress double charged me for one appetizer and I asked for my sauce on my pasta to be substituted. The waitress never mentioned there would be fee for this let alone an $8 fee which cost more than our entire kids meal. There were gnats all over our table. A manager came over and we explained that the waitress double charged us and failed to mention the fee. The manager apologized and said that the ingredients for Alfredo sauce have gone up. Been going to this restaurant for decades. It used to be that their staff would stay for years and years. This is no longer true. I don't think the original owner is in charge. It's quite obvious. Menu has changed and the kitchen staff doesn't want to do certain things. The customer is never right at this establishment anymore. Customer service went south. Very disappointed. The cheesesteak was absolutely spectacular. One of the best I ever had honestly so cheesy the meat was juicy and the roll so soft. The beat salad was also delicious. New Years day light dinner at the Offshore was great as usual. Had not been there for well over a year and was looking for some relaxation and eats. Ordered Steamed mussels in a red sauce which is listed as an appetizer, but very easily fits in for a meal. Sauce was a lot less garlicky than in the past, nevertheless really rich and tasty with large chunks of the best tomatoes I've had anywhere. I'm wondering if this place changed hands or something. Stopped in for lunch and was met with a "no substitutions" menu. I just wanted a regular old plain cheese burger. My bartender/waitress worked around it but was given pushback from the kitchen. It's crazy. I definitely won't be back. 2 stars because my server was really great, policy wise I would give zero. Food was a little pricey and wasn't that great. I have order fried calamari a few times and they consistently over-fried. The last two visits, too very long to server to take order and the place wasn't busy, besides the bar. Ordered steamed muscles a few times and they were most empty shells. I think they can benefit from shrinking the menu and focus on quality of service. Having so much to choose from, would impact consistency in the kitchen. The dining area could possibly use better lighting, place looks dingy. Please try to be aware of room temperature. Sometimes is too cold. read more

A local's hot spot! When I lived near the area, I actually didn't come here often as I usually never ventured much out that way. But lately, every time I'm back home, I frequently stopped here. The restaurant is plenty big with a good amount of seating. There is a bar right in the middle too. Service usually is nice and quick. The food portions are huge! We always bring the leftovers home. And they are always nice to split the entrees into two portions. The menu has a lot to choose from & everything always sounds good. I could only give 3 stars because of how costly their French fries were! I ordered a burger (that was really good) and you can upgrade the chips that come with the burger to fries for an extra $2. I then ordered a side of fries for me and my girlfriend to share. The cost for the side of fries was 6$ ($7) for old bay fries. So the fries that came with the burger were in a tiny ceramic cup and there was maybe 10 fries in there. I was hoping the side of fries I ordered would be substantially more since I paid triple the price, NOT! They came in the SAME ceramic cup and the same amount of fries! Absolute rip-off. I ate there several weeks ago and it bothered me enough to write a review. I've gone to other restaurants and paid $6 for fries and got an entire bag of fries! Service pretty much non existent! The waiter brought our food to our table ... dirty plates ( food stuck to them). And no eating utensils. So I had to walk around and look for the waiter or anyone that could help me.finally I found my waiter and I asked for what I needed he brought them right away. Attention to detail was non existent. Then the main dinner came out . I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and fries. This was the most pitiful sight! It must of been sitting underneath a heat lamp for a while until my wife's dinner was ready. It was hard and crunchy from the roll to the meat the cheese hot in the middle and had hard skin on top. The plate was hotter than the food! My 12 year old son could make a cheesesteak better. As a seasoned veteran of Ventura's Greenhouse, I was excited to finally try their Offshore Cafe. I love the very, clearly listed gluten-free options on the menu (even though I splurged for a little gluten this weekend). My boyfriends grandmother always raves about the French onion soup so there was no way I was passing up on it, regardless of the hot weather. For a delivered soup with melted cheese, oh my god!! TO DIE FOR! I don't typically order French onion to-to since the experience of eating it out of a crock trumps all, but this was way better than expected. Seasoned well, and tons of cheese- just how I like it. I knew the soup would have me pretty satisfied but got the Caesar salad just in case. Had no idea the large size was THAT BIG! Definitely a sharing size portion. All good- happily enjoyed it throughout the weekend. As for my boyfriend, he got the bison burger topped with caramelized onions and cheddar (off the bun). It was nice to see a suggested temp for the burger on the menu. Boy was it good! My first time trying bison, and not disappointed. Already craving more soup. Had a filling lunch with my parents here in November. The mussels appetizer is big enough for 4 people if you include extra bread ! And there is tasty focaccia in the bread basket along with baguette I had a side salad with my main course and I thought it was pretty fresh crunchy and tasty (I think it was $3 extra and worth it.) I'd skip the calamiri appetizer. My salmon main course with rice and lots of asparagus was big enough for two meals and indeed I took half of it home for dinner. Portions are big and prices are pretty reasonable. Drinks were large and strong too ! A plus and also I'm told this is one of the few restaurants in Northfield with a liquor license. Definitely a nice spot and the menu is large and varied. They have a huge fireplace but it wasn't on when we were here. read more

Usually love this place. Saw specials on line for apps, was told they were February's, and it takes 2 weeks to update for the new month, Really ? Then the price should take 2 weeks to update also. I got the mussels like usual, were good for the most part except the handful that were still raw. They were all found on the bottom.They give you a bucket to put shells in ( pictured) it was dirty, so if dish washer and waitress could not see that huge piece of pasta in there, what else can't they see..We decided since they downgraded there happy hour menu, we are going to start trying our monthly happy hour at other places. Will still go , but not as much. Place was packed and people on top of each other waiting to get in , so I'm sure they won't miss us.. read more

Forgot about my previous 1-star review and just ate dinner here. Got a chicken caprese sandwich which was fine. Fries are still same horrible quality. My MIL ordered chicken fettuccine Alfredo and the chicken was like rubber, she sent the chicken back and was disappointed with the whole meal. Service was great. Someone else at our table ordered buffalo chicken tenders and the tenders were luke-warm and just weird, not like normal buffalo tenders. read more
