Haven't been to a Dave and Buster's in yearssss. As with many things, we were looking for a place…read morethat would have some fun stuff for our little to enjoy and eat, while also having a place to watch the FIFA match with food and drinks for us. We figured most places would be crowded since it was the Haiti vs. Brazil match which was happening in the city that night - the city was buzzing! My boyfriend suggested D & B and I was game. I made a reservation just in case - glad I did as many people ended up coming in. Now a will say there a couple things that has us making the face of the swaggy p meme: the first escalator going up working but the next one so we took the elevator the steps the rest of the way up to the restaurant; we would've the elevator, but the person passed out/laying on the ground threw our little one off a bit (hope that person is okay!)!; and when taking the elevator down when we eventually left later that night, we weren't sure if it was working since it didn't light up and didn't seem like it was moving at a point - it was fine though. Outside of those things, we had a pretty good time! Lol Food was typically bar food and good for us, though we weren't fans of the Cheesesteak egg rolls. Drinks were made well, and our little one said she enjoyed her food too. Of course, we had to head over to the games after eating and we had a blast! We initially had issues with the card at certain games, but it eventually was fine and we were able to play at every game we wanted. Because of our little one, I think we played and tried out almost every game in there. Overall, we had a good time and would consider coming back.

Something is just not right with this place. When you walk in on the side that faces Columbus Blvd…read more The entry way is just way too sketchy, like they just figured "Hey, no one is really gonna come this way." There's a broken escalator, an elevator that you're not sure either works or goes to the top, and railings that feel like someone left goo on them 12 years ago. To get to the play area, you're led through dimly-lit corridors, and half filled table areas. When you get to the games, there are a bunch that don't work and you find more not working only after you redeem credits to play. And then you have to wrestle with yourself to say, "Should I find someone and tell them about it or maybe it's just not worth it." The place is just ripe with the smell of failure and it looks like they're riding things out before either selling or closing up shop. Oh, and the men's bathroom was a steam bath with water surrounding some of the toilets. Well... that was fun!

There is no one to change over from one hour to the next. So bring wipes. The trash was cleaned so perhaps someone does come. Not dirty but nobody came between our session and the next. Heavy cameras monitoring entire room and front area. There is a bathroom on the pingpong side. Friend said it was solid. "Wave technology" to go through to other rooms and sections/ It's a really cute vibe. Complete with disco light and dim features. Bare floors and just one mat, our cooler leaked... nothing to wipe up. I think about rainy snowy days in slick wet floor. Something to think about. Coaster or other beverage placements would be nice. I can see that pressed cardboard quickly deteriorating after a few condescending drinks. We used the tray in the fridge but then everyone's drink got mixed up sitting together. Also, nowhere to put the triangle. If you set up the Jenga, you definitely lose more counter/ table space. Still no coasters. Bring wipes in case I'm right and they don't clean between reservations. The clutch that failed... music. There is a way to connect (Bluetooth button on wall by light switch) but it would connect then unconnect. We tried different phones and same thing. If the other area has Bluetooth, maybe name them differently--- we tried all and nothing worked. Idk if the tv can cast but even that panel didn't respond as expected. So the tv stayed on Getty images of people playing pool and the logo. Tried AI / part time chat option but that didn't work either. They can't help after normal biz hours and whomever was helping remote, probably not in time zone. We were 530-630p on a Thurs figured regular hours for help, nope. I HIGHLY recommend 2 hr blocks. They said it and we didn't recognize. 2 hrs, bring a speaker (we did) just in case the bt acts up on you. It's at the corner of 4th and chestnut across from the Bourse theater. Grab food at Oh Brother on Market. I'll come back. Download app for better experience but not sure if it'll fix your audio/video issues. Le sigh.

Table tennis is a very popular sport worldwide. I'm really happy that is catching on here in the US. PingPod has a variety of very reasonable price points to suit your recreational needs. They are open 24 hours! Members have an electronic access key to enter whenever they like. There are about 3 tables, and another table that has a robot server. There are plenty of balls at each table, and a ball catching net that assists in picking up the balls. I can't wait to go back. I totally need to improve my skills, Lol!

We do a LOT of escape rooms. Like a lot. So on this road trip we decided to do as many locally…read morethemed rooms as possible. So after a day of seeing his grave and at the museum of the American Revolution we did this Ben Franklin themed room. And it was AWESOME. To be fair, I like a room that lets you wander around instead of forcing you down a path...and I like a room you get rewarded for looking at random things instead of having everything spelled out for you. I also like a room that has a lot of spaces that don't do anything. And this room had all of that. We ended up not needing any clues but got REALLY close to being stuck a few times. It just felt like a really good payoff for the puzzles in this room and a very cool story.

Not that my boss would hold me to it, but I should refrain from my dramatic declarations. The Olde City Escape Games is located in an office building, but there was a sign that pointed us to the correct building. Once inside, look for them in the name of the tenants and ring it like a doorbell. That felt like step 1 of the test. Once inside we were all in their lobby and encouraged to use the restroom before we get started. Our game master was awesome. I blame the Sangria. I wish I remembered his name! He was super fun and engaging throughout the experience. This is an escape room so I don't want to give anything away so I'll try to stay high level. Since we were in Philadelphia we decided to do something historic themed. We did their "A Quest for Freedom" escape room where you explore Benjamin Franklin's study and operate his print shop on a mission to help the American Revolution. Each clue or item is used only once, so be sure to track what you have used or what you have not used, cause it would mean you still need to use it. My team and I had a blast and I definitely feel closer to them after successfully escaping together. We might have been sharper and solved the clue faster if we came here before dinner and drinks... Lessons Learned for next time.
