I was standing up against the wall asking my wife for her opinion, making sure I wasn't blocking anyone when all the sudden I hear a very rude "EXCUSE ME" like I was blocking everything. There was more than enough room to go around, but she was just upset I was asking my wife for her opinion. Then a "REMEMBER if it doesn't fit put it here don't put it there". I'm fine with a reminder, but tone and body body language really play a large part in how something is communicated. This should definitely be addressed. Additionally, all the dress shirts are skinny or slim fit and mostly all blue. Not much of a variety.

I started buying Athleta clothing within the past year, and will be a customer forever because of places like this and their customer service, as well as the quality of their pieces. Everything I've purchased at Athleta has been such good quality, including their leggings that I literally wear almost ever single day and wash often. None of the leggings I've purchased have lost their quality with multiple washes and wears. I've been here several times this year and the staff is so friendly and helpful, and great at helping you find things that will look good on you. If you're ever trying anything on in at this location, they'll be your personal hype squad. I bought a pair of cargo pants here earlier this year - in a color I would've never picked out on my own, and a style that I never thought would look good on me. The employee who picked them out for me basically encouraged me to trust the process, and they ended up looking amazing on me. It's a well lit, clean store with an amazing team of people. Parking during peak hours can sometimes be tricky because they share the parking lot with several other businesses, but I've always been able to find a spot.

Wanted to love Downeast, but feel really let down. We loved the employees who helped us with the…read morepurchase, which was two couches and two accent chairs. We spent about $5,000-$6,000 there. But about 90 days later, one of the couches burst a hole out of the bottom and all the stuffing is shooting out. We don't have pets, and our kids aren't allowed to play on these couches. They've seen nothing but normal use. The fabric just failed and unfortunately Downeast was not willing to help after only having them for about 3 months. I didn't even request a refund or return. I just asked that they assist in getting it professionally repaired. They were very nice in how they communicated, but made it clear they would not offer anything to help. I wouldn't recommend anyone purchase furniture from here. The styles are great, and the employees are nice, but I don't feel you can trust the quality or the company to stand behind their products.

As usual I didn't purchase anything large like furniture (the majority of their offerings), but I always have fun checking out their other offerings, especially kitchen oriented ones. I purchased a really nice cast iron grill pan, some French cake molds, a cold-smoking contraption, Microplane grater, and a super comfy pillow. The fun thing about Downeast, at least as far as these sorts of items go, is that you never really know what you'll find. They have a very weird mix of kitchen accessories, but many of them are items you might not find anywhere else, except maybe a specialty store, and even then... They do have lovely furniture, and I think the prices are reasonable, and in line with any of your other furniture retailers, while managing to be more visually appealing, and generally of high quality (although it is an Outlet, so check that there isn't any damage before making a purchase). They also have a good selection of linens, blankets, etc. Lastly, they carry clothing and accessories, but I've never really checked that out, so can't really speak to the quality or price. The employees are always very friendly and pleasant. They usually have an extra 30% off clearance items, although it never seems to be advertised. I think they also always offer some sort of percentage off monogrammed items. It's not the greatest store, but it's worth checking out every once in a while.

It was a synthetic coat rated for intense cold that weighed nothing and scrunched into an extremely small space... exactly what I needed in terms of bulk and weight. It worked perfectly for the first few days until I came too close to dung-burning stove and the material burned while the bottom quarter of the zipper melted. Despite this, I was able to continuing using the coat for my remaining days because I could pull it on like a sweatshirt over my head. During most days on the trail, I had to take it off because I became too hot. This had not been my experience with other brands' coats in similarly cold weather. Nights in the Himalaya were another matter, but the coat was surprisingly comfortable (well, I wasn't literally freezing) when combined with a thick fleece layer. That wasn't what made Cotopaxi so good. What impressed me most was upon my return to the States when I contacted the company about the burn and melted zipper. They replaced the coat even though I'd worn it for a month post-melt; and, more importantly, they had me return the used coat for follow-up testing. I was so pleased that they cared enough about customers that they were committed to stand behind their products--they wanted to ensure we have quality, working products every time we enter the wilderness. I was even more pleased that they cared enough about customers that their research team re-tested the used coat to ensure nothing like this ever happened with any of their products again. Kudos, Cotopaxi and your sales team, for awesome customer service. You have a customer and fan for life!

Yesterday, my wife and I were in the area looking for some local goodies as Christmas presents and made our way into Hip & Humble. The outside is very inviting-I love the color of the house-turned-retail building. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Mabe, the beautiful resident dog. She happily sniffed us, let us pet her and then she went back to her duties of wandering the store. Any place that has a dog is A-OK in my book! Each item in the shop appears to have been carefully curated to be here. Nothing seems out of place or odd. I love every item and how cohesive everything feels. Up front, you'll find an assortment of knick-knacks, home goods, soaps & lotions, etc. Toward the back is a room full of unique women's clothing and accessories. The owner visited with us briefly and we felt very welcome to be there. It's a fun atmosphere with adorable items. I look forward to returning for additional gift items in the future.

Her collection of blessing dresses is another favorite of ours. As a business owner Amy goes out of her way to help her customers find what they are looking for. She has an online/Instagram presence and is known for her fantastic communication with her customers inside and outside the store. Parking along Soda Row or the back parking lot makes this place such a delightful stop. This place is just our favorite for special gifts!
