Vegan pad Thai with tofu and veggies!
    Anna B.

Thank you! I've been looking for a place that can satisfy my Pad Thai craving; this is the place! Pad Thai is the dish I've missed the most since going vegan. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now; so happy I finally did! I had the vegan tofu Pad Thai, vegetable Pad Thai, drunken noodles, and veggie rolls still need to try the dumplings, BBQ chicken and more! They cater to everyone and have a vegan menu with a good amount of options, wonderful and knowledgeable employees and delicious food! Everything I've had has been delicious!!! I'm so happy this place exists! Also note the appearance of the vegan Pad Thai is different (classic presentation) before I mixed it together and ate some, also the vegan drunken noodles filled the entire container before I ate some, I couldn't wait! New favorite Thai restaurant! I will be back soon :))

I've only eaten here once. It was takeout the day of the wind storm that took out so many people's power for days on end. The 1 star is related to my EXPLICIT allergy statement about NO MUSHROOMS, which was repeated back to me as understood; only to find mushroom THROUGHOUT my dish! If you make it clear you heard and understood my allergy concerns and request, then blatantly ignore or disregard them, placing my well being at stake, you get no further chances from me.

I was pleasantly surprised with Bamboo Bistro. My husband and I showed up on a random Friday night, mostly on a tip that BB served quail eggs, something I happen to LOVE! We ordered a bunch of apps, like fresh spring rolls, crab rangoon, and of course, quail eggs. We loved everything. The service was also super friendly and attentive. For mains we ordered drunken noodle and a pork chop dish that was very delicious and surprisingly healthy, with fresh tomato and cucumbers! Realizing at a certain point that we would be taking most of the food we over-ordered home, we decided to go full out and try the fried banana dessert. This was a particularly great version. The banana was lightly fried, there was ice cream and a giant mount of whipped cream AND a cherry! On the way out, I noticed an upcoming special on Friday and Saturday nights. After 9, apps are half price...um...that means quail eggs are half price. Hand me the keys, i'm on my way!

Came here on a Friday afternoon and was immediately seated. The atmosphere was very calming and I love how cozy the place looked. The table my boyfriend and I were sitting at was wobbly so anytime we moved anything on the table, it shifted... we ordered some quail eggs for an appetizer and they were amazing ! I ordered the combo pho, and my boyfriend ordered an egg noodle soup with bbq pork slices. I would say that the pho was a bit bland for my taste, but i added a bunch of hoisin and siracha into it. The egg noodle soup had some wantons in it too which were delicious:) Overall, I'd probably come back for the quail eggs! The total came to about $40 for the two noodle soups and the quail eggs.

There's records being thrown down, cool lighting, nice decor and even super friendly folks. The employees here are beyond nice and welcoming. Like they know what they are doing here and they are offering you an experience that is fun and funky. We started off with two drinks. One was called a salad of some sort (sorry, blacked out) and it was delicious. The other was just as good. Ordered the eggplant app - do not leave without this. Absolutely amazing. For food, we ordered a rice bowl with pork sausage and a noodle bowl (with lobster and clams). Don't remember the names. Both were absolutely fantastic. The flavor profiles are just incredible. The rice bowl had so many things happening. Just terrific. The noodle bowl has a broth that you would drink daily. There wasn't one thing that could have made these dishes any better. Service: Great Food: We started off with soft serve and the seasonal earl gray outshined the house honey. The earl gray had a great flavor topped with an excellent syrup while the honey was mild and the chocolate shell didn't add anything, although the 'honeycomb' bits were delic. Crispy eggplant special - good, very small portion Pork katsu sandwich - pretty solid, interesting pickle Pad mee korat - good, small portion Value: Aside from the soft serve, the portions were very small for ~$17 price point, and the food was good but aside from the earl gray soft serve, didn't amaze to the point of paying a higher price point. Overall I did like this meal but portions were small for prices. I hope they keep the earl gray soft serve around!

We were there on the earlier side at 6pm, and people were already being told there was 25-30 minute wait for a table (not sure if that was because there was a sold out show at the State Theatre down the street, but still busy!). The host was very friendly and saw us to our table right away. He was very sweet when he learned it was my birthday and brought us a free dessert without making a spectacle out of it. A review of our food: Chive Cake: perfectly fried on the outside and the right amount of creamy and savory on the inside. Great size for an appetizer. Fried Rice with veggies: Standard fare done well. Pad See Eww with veggies: My favorite Thai dish done very well. Not overly sweet, broccoli wasn't mushy or toothsome, and the noodles were great. Green Curry: Fresh and balanced flavors with the right amount of heat. Sticky Rice dessert: We ate it all but it was too salty. The portions are larger so we had two more meals of leftovers to take home. I'm happy we went here to celebrate my birthday! Great option in downtown Portland.

An excellent third stop on our impromptu culinary tour of Portland, and our party grew from two to four. Great flavor, nice crisp wonton, just a wonderful rangoon experience! Pork pot stickers: mmm, love me some pot stickers, and these lived up to my expectations, great flavor and texture! Lobster rangoon, order them yesterday. They're absolutely amazing. Little sweet, little tangy, rich, very light exterior, plenty of filling; they checked all the boxes. I wish an order came with double! (I wouldn't judge if you put in a double order). The Duck Bao, for me, would be a pass for next time. They were good- just not standout. The bao bun itself was very nice and pillowy, just as you'd want, so they are working with a great foundation. I just wanted a little more out of the flavor for the duck. Maybe it could have used some freshness in there, there was a touch of scallion and some soy based sauce in there but could have benefited from some veg like shredded carrot or daikon or something else. Either that or it would have needed to lean even harder into the umami, caramel- deep flavors. Onto the orange beef. I didn't know how to feel about this when it was first put in front of me. The portion seemed okay, but I realized as I kept eating, the pile of beef wasn't going down as quick as I thought it would (good problem to have!) the beef was crisp, the orange flavor was tangy and sweet - it was really tasty. Beef wasn't tough but also wasn't super tender. Not good nor bad. My only complaint here is that there could have been a little more bok choy and the rice was not very easy to eat with chopsticks. It was a jasmine rice from what it seemed and it didn't have any starch to stick together at all. To pick it up I was having to press the beef into the rice to stick it all together. Not super easy to eat but maybe its just a me problem.

The level 2 spice in the online ordering menu was not spicy at all, but the food still had a good amount of sauce and flavor. The dish was definitely heavy on the noodles and probably only had 4-5 bite-sized pieces of tofu for protein, but the noodles certainly were my favorite part.
