baked goat cheese & bang bang shrimp
    Allison G.

Love this place!!! The patio is such a good vibe, will be returning on a sunny day to enjoy that! To start off, we got the baked goat cheese w/orange marmalade & the bang bang shrimp. PHENOMENAL! Literally my sharpie part of the meal, they were sooo delish. My trout was good with a very mild flavor, but the accompaniments for the dish were tasty. My drink was a very interesting mix of tequila, green chile vodka, strawberry basil, & egg white. I was skeptical but it actually was pretty good and balanced! Also, great service and all around just great dining experience. Will definitely be back!

The ambience of the bar and the hotel is fantastic-the drinks are spot on although a little pricey still a great value The lunch menu is delicious and eclectic The Smashburger is perfect just as the chef prepares it no ketchup required If you're looking for great service, great atmosphere and just a delight you found the place

I've eaten lunch here twice with my friend. It's truly a beautiful restaurant. Both times we visited, it took a long time for our server to come to our table. The first time both servers thought it was the other's table. We tried the oysters on our first visit and really liked them. My friend got the beet salad, which was good, but small. I got the quiche and liked it. On the next visit, we started with the bang bang shrimp and avocado toast, which we liked, but weren't amazed by. My friend got the Chopped Italian salad with chicken and I got the wedge with chicken. It was tasty. I'd definitely be willing to give it a try again. I did hear other customers saying how great their dinner is.

Food - superb Service - great Ambience- nice cozy place snug in corner of building. Hadn't been here in ages, on a whim, decided to go get a very late lunch. Wedge salad, delicious and a great bunch of tomatoes and bacon cubes, with 3 slices of lettuce so you don't have to cut them as much. Royale w cheese (single or double) very tasty smash burger! The meat had a grilled crust to it, cheese melted perfectly, pickle slices, and NO tomato or lettuce kept it simple and almost divine as a burger..... With a wedge and burger this good, i can only imagine how their desserts are.

Had an incredible birthday lunch at Verbena! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean, setting the tone for an elegant, yet fairly casual meal! It wasn't too noisy on a slow Monday and yet not awkwardly silent. Our server, who was also the bartender, was very knowledgeable on the drinks as well as the food, citing the local and staff favorites! We started off with the bang bang shrimp, which was delicious! The saucy was creamy and not spicy at all. The shrimp still had its crunch while covered in sauce. It's a perfect starter for two people, I'd recommend it! The crab cake was delicious as well! Large chunks of crab and little capers mixed in for a little acidity but nothing to hide that this is all real crab. Perfectly complemented by a light broccoli salad! The chicken Milanese was very well cooked. It's always a disappointment when you get dry chicken but this was made to perfection. The pesto is a unique twist that is much appreciated and adds tons of flavor. Overall, I'd recommend Verbena whether it's a casual lunch or a special occasion dinner.

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable and Chianti was to die for. I will definitely be back. They also have an early happy hour.

What a gorgeous restaurant! Had the honor of attending a friend's birthday celebration at Verbena, and it was great. We were seated in a private room with plenty of natural lighting and the sun shining in beautifully. The room was nicely air conditioned and didn't feel hot at all. Service was also top notch. FYI, the restaurant is connected to the hotel where the main bathroom is shared. On to the food and drinks. Started with a welcome drink of choice, and I got the Pebblebrook, which was refreshing, fruity, and crisp. It had seasonal fruit, herb syrup, & soda water. 5/5 Main entrée was the linguini & clams. Very eye-catching presentation that made me look forward to the dish. Taste itself was good, the sauce was delicious, and there was a good amount of clams. However, this dish was extremely salty, and there was some grittiness in the clams. It's hard not to find gritty/sandy clams. 3/5 For dessert I had the crème brûlée. I typically don't like crème brûlée, but this one I would come back for. Really nicely caramelized, crunchy top layer with a smooth and creamy custard topped with fresh fruit. 5/5 Overall, the restaurant is beautiful both in terms of it interior and exterior. Food is good, but drinks and desserts are better.

Over the garden wall - we sent this one back. It tasted like toasted grass. Exactly how you can imagine that tasting.

Each individual photo has a detailed description. I don't feel like retyping it out. This restaurant is primarily a seafood restaurant everything was tasty - super disappointed that I didn't get photos of our food. We ordered the oysters at $4 each. They were good. Came with a cute little dropper of flavoring which was a mixture of garlic, oil and something sweet. It was a nice compliment to the otherwise plain oysters. We got the Shrimp appetizer. Also tasty - would recommend it. I got the salmon as well. Happy with it. All this to say I'm not a real huge fan of seafood so this review should mean a little something. We came here for my birthday to try something new. I would come here again definitely if I felt in the mood to have some seafood.

Enjoyed the pre-set five course meal in the bar area New Years Eve. Highly recommend the WAGYU BEEF SHORT RIB foie gras torchon, vanilla-parsnip puree, swiss chard, caramelized pearl onions, port wine jus. Just melts in your mouth. The FRIED CHICKEN & CAVIAR was a fun start to our evening of delightful dinning! The oysters and tuna was so fresh and delicious you'd never suspect you were sitting in a Kansas restaurant.

Make reservations because they had a two hour wait for walk-ins. For appetizers we shared their burnt ends. Tender and sauced perfectly. For dinner we shared a wedge salad, their mashed potatoes, asparagus (a must!), and their tomahawk steak! Instead of doing three separate steaks we did the one and it was a perfect size for all of us to share! The steak was tender and well seasoned, mashed potatoes creamy, and the asparagus was prepared in a way we hadn't had before - highly recommend! We also had their dessert lemon meringue pie and coconut cream pie! Really really good! Wine options: amazing! Bourbon options: classy! We couldn't give it five stars for two main reason: 1. We made a reservation for 7pm, arrived and check in at 6:50 and still had to wait just over 30 minutes to be seated. We learned that walk-ins had been seated ahead of us so we needed to wait for some tables to leave before we could be seated. This was a bit surprising. We understand waiting a few minutes, but 30 min is not okay. 2. The sweet server assisting us for dinner was in training and we learned from her "trainer" that she wouldn't be getting any of the tips from our dinner. Additionally, the "trainer" came over around 830 to tell us that although it was only three of us that gratuity is automatically included. Very odd that we were told these things during our meal. The server being trained should absolutely get a portion of the tips - we hope restaurant management reconsiders their policy on this especially since we hardly saw her "trainer". We normally tip over the 20% but because the trainer didn't get any of our tips, we opted to not increase the tip that was automatically charged to us. All in all really classy restaurant and food was delicious! We'll be back for sure!

The space was nice and clean, but unfortunately, the service and the "famous" main course didn't quite deliver a stellar performance. Our table was split--some wanted dinner, some wanted dessert. This apparently threw our waiter into a state of deep existential confusion. The Food: I ordered their "famous" fried chicken, customizing it to three thighs (which came with homemade pickles and a fantastic ham gravy). For $24, it wasn't bad, but it's definitely not "famous" for flavor--maybe just famous for the price tag. Honestly, I could have filled up at Popeyes for a fraction of the cost. Surprisingly, the absolute star of my meal was the side of sautéed mushrooms. It came with little pearl onions, shallots, and green peas. I topped it with some of my friend's arugula to make it fancy, and it was delicious. The Service (or lack thereof): Here's where it went downhill. The dessert order became a saga. Those who ordered sweets expected them to arrive with the mains, but we had to ask several times just to get them toward the end of the meal. By the end, our waiter seemed completely frustrated with our existence. He aggressively boxed up the remaining desserts and semi-forcefully shoved the credit card machine into our faces to shuffle us out the door. Great mushrooms, aggressive math at the end. Proceed with caution.

Gary Westmoreland, so I know a thing or two about Suburban neighborhood bars parading as Irish public houses. First things first, apologies for my long absence. After the untimely demise of my frequent dining partner Maurice (who definitely slipped and fell on his own), I just needed a break from my Yelping. #RIP #accidentshappen But, enough about me and my shenanigans. Let's talk about Conroy's. This place is sort of like a zoo without cages for the animals. After I walked in from the bright parking lot, I found myself in a dark bar full of people mostly old enough to make me feel young again. A gal with Viking hair shouted "sit wherever ya like!" from behind the bar (I think that was Conroy's version of a host). I chose a tiny little table for 2 (sigh, I was solo) amidst the crowd. I was greeted some moments later with a menu twice the size of my table. I donned my cheaters and began chapter one of the largest menu I've ever seen. The menu was resplendant with classic Irish dishes like nachos, pizza and burgers. I felt like I smelled a hint of Irish Spring soap and was whisked away to the Emerald Isle!! I kid, of course. There's plenty of fare from the land of the Leprechauns and faeries. I chose cottage pie because it seemed authentic and comforting. Even though it's been years since Maurice's tragic ACCIDENT, I still find myself needing comfort food when I'm dining solo. It was delish. I wanted to lick the rarebit it was served in clean, but the nosy man seated nearby at a large round table (by himself, mind you) kept staring at me from above what appeared to be a pint glass full of communion wine. He had a disconcertingly large head and facial features. I wasn't sure if he needed a friend or a fresh corpse for his crawlspace. Anyway, I maintained my manners and didn't clean the plate like a Beverly Hills chihuahua. I didn't try any booze on this visit because my Uber account is locked due to a disagreement with a swarthy gentleman who mistook my friendliness for an advance and yada yada. Anyhoo, I don't dare risk a dewey when I'm driving mother's Chrysler. Anyways, this place was great and the imposing, cologne-sodden Tongan boy who served me was a real sweetie pie. I think I'll download Lyft and stop by soon for some Irish beer and another bit of cozy fare. Slainte!

I like Irish beer but I tend to get the local brews when I travel and I'm glad I did. Boulevard was pretty good! If I had more time I would have looked for a six pack to drink before paying RIDICULOUS prices at the stadium or FIFA Fan Fest! Service was good, quick and friendly. I brought my bottled water in, as most restaurants use the bleachy tap, and they were ok with bringing me a glass and some ice. The rest rooms were smallish but clean. Next time I'll also try to get the 'authentic' Irish or local fare!

We were pretty close to the door, which wasn't ideal with how cold it was. They have a sort of vestibule outside but it's not fully enclosed so it does almost nothing to improve the blast of cold air when the door opens. I should preface this review with I liked the food but the service was a bit slow, however, I know fine dining service is a bit more leisurely, so I may be overly harsh on that front. Anyway, once we were seated, water came out right away. We then waited a while for the waiter to get our drink orders so I ordered the empanadas with our drinks (we were hungry). Empanadas came out quickly and were very tasty. Drinks were not quite as quick but were also very tasty. Then we waited a while for the waiter to come back to order our entrees. And at that point, I asked if we could have some bread. I saw a bunch of tables with bread but I think our waiter maybe forgot because most folks in his section didn't seem to have it. When that came out, I wanted to laugh. 2 small pieces of focaccia and a small piece of the other kind. 3 pieces of bread does not a bread basket make. He did offer to bring more but my boyfriend declined (What?!, but I didn't contradict him) so I can't fully complain about that. Once our mains came out, my complaints about the slower service and small bread portion were erased because good heavens the short rib was INCREDIBLE. So melt in your mouth and flavorful. Definitely some of the best short ribs I've had in my life. My boyfriend had some kind of dish with a butternut squash puree, mushrooms and cauliflower. His was very good too but perhaps a bit gravy with the salt. We did get our order for dessert in pretty quick and that was a great end to the meal. The passionfruit puree made it really bright tasting. TL;DR: really delicious food (4.5-4.75) but service pacing, and the blasts of cold air made it a 4. We would go back but I had a gift card, and I'm not sure I would have been as happy with the meal if we'd paid full price, if that makes sense.
