We asked for a good local place with local flare. Was visiting from out of state. This place was great. It had a great atmosphere the food was great and prices were excellent. We sat at the community table the bar was full. We really hit off with a local couple at the table. Enjoyed having dinner and drinks with them. All the staff were great and friendly. The veggie enchiladas were actually the worst vegetarian Mexican dish I've ever had. The veggies inside were half cooked and not seasoned. The tortillas were falling apart and the enchilada sauce was an afterthought. the dish itself wasn't even baked like a classic enchilada. It was just half cooked veggies in some cold tortillas with a sauce thrown over the top. The reason I give it two stars is because my boyfriend always gets the Cali burrito here and really likes it. I am not vegan, but I do try to get a vegan option when available. This is boulder where a lot of people are vegan and vegetarian. A Mexican restaurant, especially one that's more trendy than classic, should have a good veggie option that's not a total afterthought. read more

We were excited to try this New Mexican in Boulder and each of us at the table had a different experience. The machaca got an average score. The California burrito in gluten free version got above average. One of the servers felt rushed and kind of rude. The chips were good. Guacamole was bland. Overall we think ok. Super cute on the inside, don't let the outside scare you! Overall, food was pretty good, just not what we expected. Queso was good, chips were seemingly homemade but super thick. Drinks were great, got a Bloody Mary and a Bloody Maria. I had to send back a he Bloody Maria because it was too strong. This seemed to upset our server but it was only momentary. We made some basic choices and some our server offered. Grass fed beef tacos, California burrito smother in queso and tried sides like Mexican Corn, fried jalapeños, and pinto beans.it was all good, but cI ran had a lot of spice to it! This afternoon we went to Verde in Louisville for the first time. We ordered the lunch special which consisted of two tacos with rice and beans. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The waiter took our order, explained that there were other sauces that could be substituted for the one that came with the special and he would have it put on the side. He said he would come back to see if we wanted a different sauce. Have you seen him lately? The ahi tuna was fair. I have had much better. The shrimp was okay. The waiter never once returned to ask if we were satisfied. He never returned to ask my husband if he wanted a refill on his ice tea. To say that the service and food were "overwhelmingly mediocre" is a compliment. As you can guess, we won't be trying this restaurant again. One and done!! read more

I was working with both locations to secure a catering request. I received confirmation of the order, however I was transferred to the Boulder location due to proximity of the event. After being transferred to the Boulder location they completely dismissed my order. I made multiple phone calls, left messages, and sent many emails and none of them were returned. I was forced to change catering companies just days before my event. I would NOT recommend Verde for catering. Adam from the Boulder location is completely unresponsive and Markus in Louisville dropped the ball. read more

Great little Mexican joint, fun atmosphere. The bartender was great and she was very attentive. They have Mexican Coke! Was pretty excited about that. The queso was decent but there was something about the chips I didn't love. I believe they are homemade, a little too done for my liking. Just a personal preference. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 instead of a 1 is because the people are super cool and their margaritas are good but honestly the food is terrible. We had burritos and they were extremely bland and had no flavor. We orders a side of beans but they never came.. Which was extra disappointing because we were literally the only two people in the entire restaurant. Ordered the veggie quesadilla which turned out to be an onion quesadilla with a few specks of zucchini. Extra $1.50 for a side of guacamole which also turned out to be extremely heavy on the onion and extremely light on the avocado. And the final kicker - you have to pay extra for salsa. Yes, really. A little cup of salsa for your naked quesadilla will cost you another extra $1.00. Very friendly waitstaff though. read more

Great atmosphere, overpriced Ortega tasting food, hit or miss wait staff. Wendy is our go to waitress and she is incredible, but good luck getting the same attention from anyone else. The coleslaw is exceptionally good, the homemade chips are awesome and the dips that come with them are random but delicious. It seems like a few boulder people got together and learned how to make chips and dips(perfected them) and then slapped together a restaurant with mains that hardly reflect the quality of the appetizers. Delicious!!!! Unlike most Mexican restaurants, chips and salsa are extra...so that kind of sucks. But the chips are fresh and yummy. I've had the chicken, ground beef, and carne asada tacos. All of them were so good! I recommend adding cheese to the carne asada because it's a bit too cilantro-y without it. But it is good without cheese if you really love cilantro. read more

I love coming here for lunch or dinner! The vibe is really different and unexpected for a hole-in-the-wall place. They make their tortilla chips from scratch and they are amazing!!! Came here during an afternoon lull and got a damned respectable (if overpriced at $10.79) burrito. Service was prompt and friendly. Interior of the place was kind of eclectic gastro-pub-y, not like a Mexican restaurant at all; stained concrete flooring and earthtone seats/booths underlit by clear incandescent bulbs hanging from posts. The wife and I were here a couple of nights ago. This place is not bad at all, but it isnt great. The vibe is solid, i felt comfortable there, one could easily post up for a couple of hours and enjoy themselves. There are only about 4-5 beers on tap at one time, which is a bit of a disappointment, but they do offer small pitchers which are great to share with someone.....or just yourself. Beer prices are $5-6 a beer with a pitcher running $10-12. Not bad for Boulder, but you can easily find the same beer cheaper at a number of other places. We split the Fajitas, they were good, I would order them again. Overall this place is a solid option, try it out. read more

Had a great lunch here on Sunday. They're just rolling out their brunch menu so I ordered breakfast tacos (I recommend a side of green chile), and one of my friends had the coconut french toast. Both were amazing. The burritos are huge, and the machaca (shredded beef) is a personal favorite. My husband ordered this fried cheese dish (I can't remember the name of it) and it did not disappoint. Servers were attentive and friendly and the food came out quickly. What more can you ask for? So excited these guys now have a restaurant instead of just a food truck! read more

Everything was overpowered by chili powder and the burrito was too spicy hot to enjoy. The house margarita was good, & I liked the home made tortilla chips. Definitely some of the worst Latin food I've had in a while. Every aspect of our meal was subpar, the queso was velveeta it tasted like kraft Mac and cheese without the Mac. On to the entrees, the steak in the burrito was tough and had no flavor and the beans tasted like they were from a can. The chicken in the tacos was very dry and tasted like Taco Bell. We tried Verde after leaving the crowds at Rayback. The margarita we had was good... a little too sweet for my boyfriend but just fine by me. The worst part was the incredibly loud music! We could barely hear each other! We left after one drink and headed to Sancho's up the street. There, we found delicious food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere outside on the patio on a lovely spring day. If you're looking for something a little more chill, ditch Verde and try heading up the street to Sancho's. read more

Great place! Homemade tortillas, delicious margs and nice service. We were there for Margarita Monday- $17 for a pitcher of margs and a cheese crisp (like a Mexican pizza). We loved everything we ordered- chicken, carne asada and fried cheese tacos. Definitely check it out! read more
