Visited Shreddy's for the first time after a hike and had a good time! Restaurant was fairly empty on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, however the dining room is open with plenty of seating options. I was alone and sat at the bar. Ordered a beer and was greeted to complimentary chips and salsa. Score! Before I even get into the food, the server (I believe her name is Mia) was SO nice. Friendly, hospitable, and warm. To the point where she deserves a dedicated shout out in this review! Food wise, I went with the three pack of tacos. These are street tacos and very small. For $16.50 I was really hoping for something more filling. These were three bites each. Itty bitty tacos are fine when you're paying a buck or two, but for a restaurant setting I felt like I needed more umph! Having said that, they were very good. In order from best to worst, I'd rank them carnitas, pastor, and asada. The former two had really great flavors and the meat was tender. The asada was chewier than I would've liked, but still a solid rotation of tacos. I like that they are served with onion and cilantro, and that the salsa and crema are served on the side. These provided a kick and were necessary for the tacos. All in all, it made for a great bite. I just wish it was a more substantial bite! Would love to come back here with some people to try more of the menu and get drinks at the bar. Keep on shredding! read more

I'm honestly confused because no one in my party had their car booted, so I'm not sure where that accusation came from or what it has to do with my review. Instead of addressing anything I said, the owner responded with a completely unrelated accusation about an incident that never happened. WARNING: If you visit and park in their lot, go straight into the restaurant. Don't go anywhere else in the adjacent shopping center first. Colorado Parking Services has recently started aggressively (like within 10 minutes of parking) booting cars in the Shreddy's section of the parking lot, and several spaces are not clearly marked as "Shreddy's Only". They WILL charge you $140 to remove the boot. For the restaurant itself: I've been in for dinner and lunch on several occasions since they opened. It's always been nearly empty, even at prime dinner time. But somehow the service was still slow? The food is pretty mediocre -- bland meat in the tacos, heavily over-salted chips, salsas very mild. And it's very overpriced for what you get (typical for Boulder). There aren't a lot of options in South Boulder, so I wanted it to be good. But you can get much better tacos basically anywhere else in town. read more

The tacos are solid! The portion of filling is, well, filling. Carnitas are tender and flavorful. The shrimp is perfectly cooked and delicious. The nopales are tender and fresh without being slimy. The fish is juicy and delicious but the sauce is a bit mayonnaisey. We are always greeted by friendly staff. The music is fun and loud but not obnoxious. Now, the reason for the 4 stars. We have been here several times and every time the salsa is different and the complimentary salsa tonight basically tastes like ketchup. Not quite as sweet but all tomato base and no spices, no peppers, no spice. We always ask for the spicy salsa tonight get some flavor and tonight the spicy one was lacking as well. The margaritas are good. Not too sweet and not too tart. Well balanced. We hope they consult abuela about the salsas but we will be back. read more

I don't like writing this review, as otherwise I think shreddys is great. I am also a customer at CorePower yoga, right next to shreddys. they have a connected parking lot that I never knew had designated spots for each business, there is no clear signage that shows that. I totally understand if shreddys wants to preserve its parking spots, but instead of just putting up clear signage so we know which spots are theirs, they have parked a truck outside who waits until CorePower customers have entered and then boots the car, charging 150 to take it off. The way they do it is predatory, and the person doing the booting even slow clapped at customers as they returned to find their cars booted. There are so many better ways to resolve this issue, but instead they are preying on customers who genuinely do not know they aren't allowed to park there. read more

After my first visit I could not stop thinking about their birria grilled cheese, queso, agua frescas galore, strawberry horchata, carnitas, nopales and tres leches. Last night after a late Eldo adventure (guided bat walk) I stopped in with my partner for a beyond delicious bite. We came in the last hour they were open on a mission. As always the space was spotlessly clean, with fun colorful decorations. We shared the birria grilled cheese - toasted to perfection, the meat mouthwateringly seasoned - literally melted in my mouth - along with the accompanying au jus, radish, cucumber and lime. With every bite I transcended :) I was so into the grilled cheese that I completely forgot to snag a bite of the carnitas taco (served with pineapple I might add) before it disappeared! The staff were friendly as always. Our meal came out speedily and there was fun stuff to watch on the television (snowboarding on one and Dave Chapelle's prince skit on the other). Can't wait to go back when I have time to settle in for the whole shebang - including a slice of their incredible tres leches cake (honestly I've tried many over the years here and in Mexico - theirs is by far the BEST!). read more

After running some errands on an empty stomach, I was absolutely famished, and Shreddy's Tacos was the nearby solution. To this day, my soul and stomach thanks you haha. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by two different employees and asked if we were dining in or taking out--opted to dine in. Ordering was super easy and convenient thanks to the iPads located near the entrance. We ended up getting a fish taco, a Birria grilled cheese, and a Mexican coke. As soon as we sat down, fresh chips and salsa were brought to our table. The chips were great, not greasy at all, but the salsa was a bit too chilled for my liking (and it was a chilly day.) But it didn't stop us from consuming almost all of it during our dining time. Whoever came up with the idea of Birria grilled cheese is an absolute genius! I love Birria tacos, but this grilled cheese was next level. Completely addicting and so much neater to eat. Plus, the crunch you get from the bread makes for the perfect texture combination. Flavors were spot on and just so onolicious. I need to try to make this at home. Probably would pass on the fish taco next time, but the Birria dishes are where it's at. Friendly staff, clean environment (both employees were thoroughly cleaning everything while we were there...kudos to them for their hard work and cleanliness,) and delicious food made for an exceptional experience. No matter how many places you have heard of in Boulder, there is always room for one more. And it is not a chain or out of state owners. It started near a Colorado ski area and has now settled with a location in Boulder. It is a location convenient from so many parts of Boulder. And there is actually free parking. But some of the local busses stop nearly right outside. And, it has actual, real seating, though fast casual in service. We passed it several times as they were setting up. It has been an empty building since early in the pandemic. In my 50 years in Boulder, it has been several other eateries, it is not new construction. But the building was renovated not many years ago, and the interior too. We tried it late this afternoon for a light meal. Even "I " could use the easy ordering screen, much simpler and friendlier than many other I have tried. And bright and with large enough text and good photos of the menu items, that my low vision status was not a problem. The owners were present and very friendly. There were a few other customers, mostly people who were likely CU students, friendly and pleasant. There is a lot of student housing nearby as well as that of seniors and families with children. This place will be acceptable to all of the demographics. The prices are modest and the servings more than adequate, the menu inexpensive yet homemade with good ingredients. And the food simply tastes great. We ate and enjoyed everything we ordered. When we go back, closer to a normal dinner hour, we will certainly order more items. We loved that the sodas are also from Mexico. Chips are homemade, cut from good corn tortillas. The tacos are amply filled and served on soft corn tortillas my personal favorite. I had the Al Pastor and my husband had the Carne Asada. We ordered a small guacamole to share. The mild salsa is truly mild, the tacos had lots of flavor and we could customize some on those too. I will try the green spicier salsa next time too. The tacos were served with radish and cucumber slices as garnish, along with slices of lime. It was nice quick service in a nicely clean space, a rare combination in Boulder. There was high bar seating as well as hightop tables, booths, and smaller, low tables for 2 or 4. Certainly something for everyone in every category. They can certainly handle large groups. Check their menu online and see all the items as well as the party packs and such for takeout too. Soooo happy to have a new restaurant in South Boulder! Great food that is affordable too. You order at the screens by the bar and the food arrives pretty quickly. I highly recommend a burrito. The Ramen was a little too spicy for our seven-year-old, but it was delicious for us adults. The staff were really helpful and we look forward to returning soon. read more

We were recommended this restaurant from a coworker. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon the atmosphere was a chill vibe with good music playing. It has really good seating (highs top tables, booths, regular tables and outside tables). The food was a 10/10. Highly recommend coming by this new establishment that started as a food truck. The staff are super inviting and friendly, the chef would come out and make sure everything was good. We tried the - chicharrón appetizer that was served a with fresh guacamole and salsa 10/10 - Baja grilled fish taco 10/10 - A flight of 3 tacos of carne asada, chicken, al pastor 10/10 -Nachos with carnitas 10/10 Everything was fresh and delicious, so much flavor and the salsas were good. Yummy food! The staff is very friendly, always happy to greet you, explain the menu options, and show you how things work. It's a new place and just getting started, so it's still quite lacking in ambiance--it's a very big room, and the dining room is largely empty as of yet. But that's always going to be the case with a new startup; the customers will come with time, especially as the food here is so good. I do wish they had more beverage options--all their beverages are heavily sweetened stuff, and for those of us with blood sugar issues, the only option is plain water--boring! Some unsweetened tea or club soda or something would be lovely. The place would also have a much more fun vibe if they had a liquor license--there's a bar in there that visually dominates the room, but it's currently not in use, just looks like wasted space. It makes it look as though something's kind of off. I'd either remodel to remove (or repurpose) the bar, or bite the bullet and actually use the bar for its intended purpose. Have been twice so far and would try them again for sure--as I said, food is great if you can ignore the lack of ambiance. I hear these are local guys who started out with a food truck, and I would love to see them succeed in this location, as so many other businesses have come and gone in that spot. read more

This is the best I have been to in quite a while. Since Wonderview Cafe was sold. Now you can't get good/great Guacamole Tostadas anymore, they are not on Shreddy's menu. Vegan options are not huge - but I really like the Cactus bowl - take it home and use your own vegan sour cream - etc... No vegan cheeses either, but take your food home, I guess is the only option. Their coin marg is very good too. We have been back twice and will definitely return! It is not fancy, could dust a bit, but couldn't everyplace...
