Worst experience and zero accountability. I dropped off my shoes for repair around May and was told the work would take a couple of months. In August, I stopped by in person to check on them since I hadn't received a call. At that point, staff could not locate my shoes and said they would contact me once they found them. These were Vince flats that cost nearly $400. Since then, I have called multiple times, only to be placed on hold until the call disconnects. No one has followed up, and there has been no attempt to take responsibility or resolve the issue. My 80 year old mom came home crying saying that she was bullied for not buying $215 shoes right on the spot. The owner Robert and the woman helping him gasped and said " I can't believe that you would come all the way here and not but these shoes that your podiatrist recommended." Verfaillie is horrible and possibly gave the worst customer service I have ever received! I have plantar fasciitis and other foot issues. I was referred here for service since the owners of Foot Solutions retired. I also prefer to go to small businesses. I explained my issues with someone that worked at Verfaillie, and we looked at a couple pairs of shoes. I also spoke to "Robert" who told me he could help with some adjustments to my shoes to help with my foot issues. I bought 2 pair of shoes totalling over $300.00 and $100.00 worth of adjustments to help my foot issues. One pair of shoes had to be ordered because they did not have my size in the brand I wanted in stock at the time. I waited for my order to come in to schedule Robert to make the adjustments. After 2 weeks, I called to get an update on my order . Robert told me he would call me back. He did not. I made several calls to the store, to check my status and to try to schedule my adjustment, but they rarely returned calls. I called one time, and while leaving a message on the answering machine (not a voice mail, yes, an old school answering machine), someone picked up and started dialing. It took a month for my shoes to come in. I could not get a hold of Robert to schedule my adjustments. I decided to go in for a refund for the shoes they ordered, and for the adjustments Robert never made. The shoes I wanted a refund for were shoes they ordered that I never had in my possession I was told they could not do returns without Robert being there. I explained that did not work for me. I was told to fill out paperwork for info they already had and wait for the sales person to finish with a customer. I filled out paperwork with my info they already had and the lady at the counter took that paperwork, and tried to take my original receipt. I pulled my receipt back from her, and she insisted she was not trying to take my original receipt. I waited for 20 minutes, and decided to interrupt the sales person while dealing with a customer to get answers. I simply asked "What is the issue with a refund? " While I waited the lady at the counter called Robert. I was told they could not do a refund without Robert, and that I would have to come back when Robert was there. This made no sense. I asked, " If I bought a pair of socks would I need to have Robert to do a refund?" I also said you can make sales without Robert. I was told this was store policy. A policy that is not posted. I was also told my size 13 Brooks shoes were a special order. I was not told that at the time of the sale. Also, the "special ordered shoes" were readily available on Brooks website. The customers that were being waited on decided they did not to want to buy shoes there any longer. The sales person was not too happy and proceeded to get more rude towards me. I never raised my voice, I never got angry or aggressive. I stood firm in my belief I was due a refund. I told them to call Robert back and to ask him to authorize a refund or to come to the store. I was told I would have to come when Robert was there. How would I figure that out? The man would not return my call. I told them I would just wait for Robert. The sales person threatened to call the police, and when I was asked to leave I did. (Later, when I left the shopping center the police were leaving the store.) Please, read the 1 star reviews! Read how poorly they treat the public. I have informed my podiatrist to not recommend Verfelli shoes any longer, and he said he will no longer recommend them. I went through my credit card company and was able to get a credit to my card. Please do yourself a favor and never shop here! To make matters even more interesting, I received a call from Verfaillie shoes 2 weeks after this incident to ask if I was coming to get my shoes. read more

This is by far the worst service I've ever received. I don't write reviews EVER, but please do not come here. I was in town for a funeral, and the shoes didn't fit so I had to return them. I wouldn't make it back in time to be in town to return in the 7 day return time window, so I called to explain the circumstances and the person on the phone made an exception to start the return since I'd be back in town a few weeks later. I came back in the store today and that return was in fact never started, and the lady I spoke to on the phone with wasn't there. The owner came out to say he and his employees wouldn't make such an exception, and refused to call his wife, the only other person supposedly who could have started the return. He stormed off to the back and was a complete jerk. I left with no refund, and couldn't believe what a terrible owner this store had. Do not give this place any more business, I still can't believe how mean and un empathetic this man was when HIS employee made a mistake that cost me $200. when I called I was put on hold for long time, then told I could pick the shoes up TODAY. When I arrived after another long wait for them to find them, they said they were not done and the shoe repair person is not in today. The owner who is not a professional shoe repairer was going to "try" and put on the new heels while attending his cash register and customers and told me it could be an hour or more and I could wait. I have been going to Verfaillie shoes for 39 years. The first time I went was when I was pregnant with my first child and I needed shoes for my swollen feet . No one else could fit me . The services is bad. The lady comes off in a harsh rude manner. She needs to come off more happy and upbeat, otherwise what makes her think people want to stick around and buy the shoes. Update on my 2/11/2022 review. After 2 months of calling about the pair of $158 shoes ordered on 1/29/2022, I called again. Told the woman who answered the telephone that at this point I wanted my money back, she said she would get the manager. A man picked up the telephone, said he hadn't been told anything by the woman, and when I asked him his name, he hung up on me. I happened to have the day off, and drove over there. He said he had put me on hold...but the call was definitely disconnected on his end. I again asked for his name, and he told me it was none of my business. He agreed to give me a refund, but kept my original receipt from the purchase. He told me he would not give it back to me. I asked for the notes I had attached to it and he ripped those off, gave them to me, told me I was being confrontational, and everything was being filmed. Do not buy shoes from this store! Buyer beware! I attempted to return a pair of unworn shoes after 2 weeks of purchasing them when I became aware of the 7 day refund policy. So after being told by the owner who sold me the shoes that if they did not work out he would take care of me. I was forced to purchase another pair that i did not really want. They had to order my size and told me how much they would be. When i picked them up they were $30 more than when i ordered them. I paid the difference and the total was $165.00! Needless to say I will not be returning to this store! When looking up the price on SAS.com the shoes sold for $155.00. Terrible customer service!!! read more

I am a senior citizen. On May 25,2017, the shoe store clerk, a young guy, wanted $12 to shine a pair of my husbands' shoes. I thought the clerk was kidding. He said he wasn't. (Background, on May 10, 2017, I brought another pair of shoes in for a shine. An older women was pleasant and charged me $6..) When I asked the young man why he was charging me $12, he said it was $7 for the shine and $5 to clean the shoes. I insisted on prepaying $6 as I did on May 10. Today I picked up the shoes and spoke to the Mgr. Rob. I told him I felt I was being taken advantage of as a senior citizen because of the $12 incident. Rob informed me the $12 was a correct charge. He also said all he did was spray liquid shine on my shoes. I told him other shoe repairs include cleaning as part of the shine process for $6. I also told him I would not be back. I grew up in the shores, buying docksiders, they always measured your feet, took great care of you. I was in high school when I first started going there, I'm older now, decided to try SAS SHOES for work $160. I guess they think I know my exact size. Never bothered to check. Was fitted as everytime before for some new shoes and walked out with 3 comfy pairs. Had great service so maybe the prior review was a anomaly. They carry super hard to find 6E width shoes and even carry H width, didn't even know that existed. read more

elderly Husband bought shoes. sales man told him I will order two other pair that I think you will like. When I went two days later to cancel order I was told it was a special order and would only get $218 store credit. The letters so were written on receipt that looked like an order number. store cancelled order from manufacturer on the spot. So store is out NOTHING! Would still not give a refund to credit card. very bad way to do business. My wife and I arrived to the shoe store, and the woman on the floor ran to the door, making a loud grunt on the way and abruptly turned off the Open light and flipped the door sign to closed. The older gentleman who was in a chair trying on shoes, asked it was OK that he was there. I felt like I was ruining this woman's day by walking into the store. I showed interest in a pair of shoes and there were none in my size. I would have liked to try on some different shoes, but thought it was better to leave. Won't be back.
