An appointment is necessary. When I arrived the store was pretty busy but I was greeted and helped pretty quickly. I can't remember his name but I think he was the owner. He was super knowledgeable and helped me pick the support and stability I needed. He showed me about ten shoes and was as quick about it as I wanted to be while still evaluating each fit carefully. Great store great products and caring people that know a lot about foot problems. I had foot pain for years nobody could help me. I went into the store and bought a pair of Brooks beast shoes that they recommended for my foot problems. Dave the owner told me use these shoes for 4 days if the pain is still there bring them back and I will give you your money back. It's been 10 years no pain and I still buy my shoes from these people. They really care about the customer and the pain that they are going through. This has become the only shoe store I can shop at. I'm a big girl who has wide feet ... it's in the genes. They will stretch the shoes if you need that, and they can alter inserts and padding if needed. They got my feet feeling better than an orthopedic specialist out in Bloomfield Hills did. Many foot drs refer people here. Shawn, the lady there, is awesome. She usually gets my shoes spot on. The guys are good too, but I prefer Shawn. They have granny styles, but ALSO have cuter shoes for us under granny age people who were just born with bad feet and still care about style. read more

I have plantar fasciitis. I have only had two flare ups, the first was tolerable, the second was really bad. I could barely walk. I read a lot about different footwear online, but couldn't make up my mind. My plan was to check out some here and order online. I left here with a pair of sandals and a pair of slippers. My painful flare up was gone within a week, but I kept wearing the slippers and shoes and haven't had another flare up. The sandals are super cute gold and black wedges. I get tons of compliments on them. I always tell people they are my "orthopedic" shoes. I actually spent a week in them walking 15000+ steps a day. If I could wear them hiking I would. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. The prices are similar to what you will find online, but the service is worth every penny. I recently ordered a pair of shoes I had been coveting for a while. The price here was identical to online (amazon and zappos) and they stretched the top out a little for me. Shawn is great. Very knowledgeable. I have had numerous compliments on my sandals. Sneakers work great for supporting my ankles. My sneakers took 5 weeks to come in instead of two-three like they said, and they ripped after two weeks and were expensive, but that's a manufacturing defect and not the store's fault. read more

3 years ago I was in a cast because I had severe Plantar Factitious and I tore the tendon on the bottom of my foot. I was fitted with a pair of shoes from footwear footcare and within a month I was able to build up my arches and the pain was gone! I'm also on my feet with my job for several hours a day. I had back issues, but now the back pain is gone. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. I believe the owner said they've been in business for 35 years!
