I want to warn everyone about the Verizon in Antioch, in front of Walmart. 1. It's not a Verizon at all. Which I feel like is really scammy on Verizon's part. It's a go wireless who is an authorized of Verizon. Also poor decision making on Verizon's part. So- my 70 yo mother went there ti get a new phone. ( thinking it was Verizon corporate) She gets home with a new 13 mini ($699) and a $330 bill for "accessories" An employee named Nicoy T went to the bank on her lol. Some of it she didn't need but it was obv just a sell- that's their job I can accept that. But $25 was a setup fee. Soooo yuck for business practices- but at this point I'm still just annoyed and intending on letting her keep all the unnecessary accessories. Then I get to the part of the bill that is $100 of screen protectors. We all know we need a screen protector( you can get them on Amazon super cheap btw and I drop my phone like 6/7 times a day, they've never failed me lol) So overcharging for one, since it's a cell phone store, I totally get. But to sell someone that obv doesn't know- 2 screen protectors is just unreal. One was a liquid screen protector and one was just the tempered glass you stick on. He of course opened and used both as they do for you, as a courtesy, when you get a new phone. If these things work and are worth $60/$40 then why would she need 2? And let's be honest- no one needs 2. So then I decided- nope- it's all going back!! Don't try to scam old ladies- it's not cool. SO YOU GUYS- today I go in there, nicely trying to return the stuff ( NICOY T of course wasn't there) They tell me they can't return either of the screen protectors( obv they've been used) ( to really nit pick- they weren't used by my mom, she didn't open them and put them on) But I just politely asked if there was any way to refund once- since we both knew 2 was overkill) Nope. Fine- I'm moving on. She got $100 credit for all the refunds. She was also told this was an even trade- $699 trade in for $699 phone. At the time they were running a promo and I was honestly surprised by the $699 trade in but hey‍ So Nikoy T told her a box would be coming in the mail to send in the trade in and credit her Verizon bill the $699 they were charging putting on it for the new phone. 3 weeks later- no box- so I asked him if he could also check on that. He digs around on her phone FOREVER and finally says- oh I see what happened. She was only getting the $699 if she upgraded to unlimited( she is old she doesn't use much data) I ask her- she wasn't told this. She legit said she has no idea what plan she even has and no one( NICOY T) mentioned anything about her plan at all. So I ask the guy today if I can still do that? I could. It's an extra $30/ month so I decide to wait- she doesn't use more than whatever her current data is- so $30/ month might not be the better option for a $699 trade in. I ask about the trade in value without the plan upgrade. $10. TEN. So I left, mom will have to decide which route to take. AT&T looks pretty good right now. Honestly I just want everyone to know- don't go to this place. They seem very scammy. Either go to the Verizon corporate ( there is one in Kenosha) or just go to ATT. I'm honestly considering switching back to ATT just because of this mess. Just seems all around poor practice. This is only the quick and dirty as well- I could go on. The employee who sat there for 50 and didn't help the person behind me or help me when the guy helping got a bloody nose and went in back for 20 min. And then didn't wash his hands and used his knuckle instead to finish up touching her phone. Covid lately? Just steer clear! I posted this on my social media and got hundreds of comments of people saying they had bad experiences too. And many more saying this review helped them decide not to go there so I hope this saves you too! read more

She was very helpful and knowledgeable about all of your products and went out of her way to explain details about the Phones, accessories, etc. She is a wonderful assett to your company! It would have been worth it to go to Gurnee'a Verizon Home Store since this is a 3rd party retailer (not specified on the building). Most the employees were nice and knew what they were talking about, but also did not explain things very well. We had to wait a few extra days for a pre-ordered phones (that the app said was shipped, over-night, and received/signed the next day bur we didn't receive our phones for another three days and I had to call them to see if it had arrived). Then, I had not known there was be additional charges like the 19.95 "Ready 2 Go Set Up - Smartphone" per phone and that was not disclosed to us when we were paying "the taxes" for our phone (that's the only thing said when she said we were paying for when we got our are payment method). We could have easily set up our phone ourselves like we have in the past and saved $40 dollars. The deal we got through them is the exact same we would have got at the home Verizon store. I would have said no to having her set up our phones if I knew there was a charge but she didn't even ask if we wanted to set them up or have her do it (idk if that is policy but I'm not happy about it at all). Like I said, they were very kind employees, but the extra charges and wait time was it worth it when I could have driven 15 minutes down the road instead. *** UPDATE: we went in to talk about everything the next day and have been taken care of. Everything was kindly explained and the charges were taken off because nothing was explained to us prior and if we were aware we would have been able to decline the set up fees and do it ourselves. Great experience at this Verizon location. I came in looking for help with some issues I had with my phone. I didn't really expect to receive the help I needed because I had been to other Verizon locations and they didn't seem that interested in assisting me, but much to my appreciation, they helped resolve my issues! My brother came with me because his service contract with another company was up and he was considering switching carriers. He wasn't sure about Verizon, but with the help of Chong and Jacob, he made the switch! They were both attentive and friendly and the atmosphere in the store was great. When it's time for my husband and I to upgrade or when we have any issues or questions, we will be returning to this location because of the great customer service. read more

These people are liars and cheats, so be careful. Note that this is not a "Verizon" store, but a franchise. Even though the signage from Rte 173 clearly displays "Verizon Wireless", it is owned and operated by the Cellular Connection, which runs other Verizon franchises throughout Northern Illinois. As such, they do not have to offer you any of the phone deals that you might see advertised. And this store will charge for full price for the phone, even if Verizon is advertising $150.00 off. And everything they sell will be 10 to 30 percent more expensive than a Verizon store charges. That I don't necessarily mind. They are not a corporate store, so they have to buy the phones on their own. As a result, they will not have all of Verizon's available phones, and it is hard for them to make money by honoring all the discounts. Verizon itself does not make money selling phones, it makes money on the data plans. This store makes money on the phones and repairs. My problem is that this store has shaky ethics (but then it is in Illinois, what else is new). This store leads you to believe that they do offer all of Verizon's deals. They don't advertise the deals, but if you ask about them, they will stare at a sheet and then tell you that the deal must be over, or that it was never offered, or that they never heard of it. I noticed they were selling a Droid Turbo for the full retail price ($650.00). Verizon had been advertising the Droid Turbo at $499.00. I asked about this. Referred to a couple of pieces of stapled together papers, and they said that deal was over because they could not find it on their sheet. I also asked about the phone trade-in special. They said that must have been over as well. Well, it may have been over at their store and all other stores under the Cellular Connection franchise, but it was also a lie, because Verizon was still selling Droid Turbos for $499.00. The ethical thing would be to inform the customer that you have to go to a Verizon Corporate store. Instead they play dumb. "What, $499.00 for this phone? That's crazy talk!" They will also try to push into older model phones. They really tried to get me to buy a Galaxy S5 at full retail price. Why would anyone buy an older model phone when the S6 and the S6 Edge are available? Because they have a bunch of S5's in stock that they need to get rid of. Beware of this store or any "authorized" or "premium" retailer. Go to a corporate store. Go the Verizon's website, click on Store Locator, and in the search bar make sure that you leave blank "include authorized retailers". All corporate Verizon stores will show up in red. Rip-off franchise retailers will show up in gray. Avoid all gray stores. This is a gray store. They will rip you off, Avoid them. read more

Do not trust this store and avoid at all cost! They are not truthful and will take advantage of you if you do not understand your account. I caught them trying to upgrade a phone on my account and not honor a manufacture warranty on another. I spoke to Verizon Wireless and they even confirmed that the store did not follow the proper procedure. They also messed another phone and ended up deleting Google Play Services. I ended up filing two 360 compliant forms on them. If you plan to stick with Verizon Wireless drive a few extra miles and go to the Pleasant Prairie, WI store! read more

Jason and his staff made sure I was well aware of all my options and how I could get the most out of my account. Very top-notch.
