I ended up with a bill for almost $500 . Their advertising gets you in the door but read the fine print. Serious flaws on the business accounts side. Customer service varies with each employee (some good and so not so)...not consistent... don't agree to web virtual online meetings. We waited over an hour for a meeting set by staff and the sales staff never showed up... got a series of text messages of why he was delayed. So much about making an appointment for set time. Needed a jet pack for our home and stopped by here yesterday. Lots of parking and nice inside features. Like all other places in the category of phone shops, they felt very inauthentic and scammy upon entering. I hate comments like " hey there how are you? let me take your name and number as you wander the store" and "oh you have to come back? We don't have any appointment slots left but I will squeeze you in and make an exception for you...." That all aside (the nature of the game right?) the service we received from Ru was exceptional. He was kind and approachable. He didn't try to oversell us and he listened to our needs. He was knowledgeable and professional. I hope we don't need to return but if we do, I hope we get him. So I'm a very very long time Verizon customer and when it to comes to the cell companies I'm really not want to jump around to get a new phone as I find most of the service plans and options are the same. What does distinguish Verizon from other companies are the specialist I work with every time I go in to the location on Tunnel Road. For this particular visit it wasn't phone related but to obtain my first Apple Watch. I really wasn't impressed with the small screens of all the previous models but the Apple Ultra Watch definitely fit the bill and I was in the market to get one. I've been a Verizon customer for 25 years . Recently picked up a internet unit which supposed to be $100 a month more . It never worked at our location & our first bill was more than $500 more than previously. I immediately & on several occasions contacted the salesperson about this with no luck . Verizon customer service asked us to go back to the store ( 90 minutes one way ) and put the manager on the phone . We did this but the manager refused to get on the phone with corporate, he accepted our equipment return & said he would handle it . 4 weeks later & Verizon is trying to turn off our service for this over unit payment, customer service again tells us we have to go back to the store , put manager on phone ( 90 minutes one way ) again the manager refuses to give us credit , saying it has been over 30 days! They say I will only get a refund of taxes and accessories paid for on day 1. I cannot see how this coukd be legal. This concerning the location at 601 W State St. in Black Mountain, NC. I stopped into this location Russel Cellular/Verizon and got an iPhone, one screen protector (50 dollars, but goes for 13 dollars on Amazon) and an Otterbox case (70 dollars, but goes for 30 on Amazon) and the person there opened both boxes without my permission and put them on the phone, invalidating a return on the screen. I discovered several issues with the phone and spent hours and days of talking to reps from both companies who provided no viable solutions. Finally I had enough and returned the phone before the end of the thirty day period only to find that Apple prioritizes to the extent that these issues are intentional to the design of their product (specifically the inability to send audio text when messaging). Total cost from this temporary deal with Verizon: 100 dollars; 50 for the screen and 50 to restock the item (which I was not informed of, nor was it listed on my receipt) plus extra associated non refundable fees. I asked the person in the store, who calls everyone "Chief" for some reason, to explain what happened to the manager(?) but he decided he didn't feel like it and he refused to give me a number to call, but insisted that he would "reach out" himself later (yeah, right). Understand that these people are mercenary in their practice and you will be paying a large amount of money even if you decide to opt out within the trial period. Don't be fool like me and buy accessories at a Verizon location, and be very assertive when dealing with them as they seem very unprofessional and completely disinterested in anything but scalping you for cash. I was told that the two people who initially 'helped' me were no longer working at the store when I returned. I wonder why. read more

I sent my friend to pick the screen protector up the very next day and an associate at this store told her it wasn't ready to pick up and then proceeded to sell her one that was $20 more expensive. Bad customer service. When my husband and I arrived, we were met at the door by a gentleman who asked our name and the reason for our visit - to upgrade our phones. We were told someone would be with us shortly. We had time to look at all the phones, though we knew which one we each wanted. We also had time to look at all their accessories. We sat down on one of the lounging surfaces. It was very apparent that it was a busy day for the associates. Once I figured out who the staff were - they were all in mismatched Verizon t-shirts and jeans, which looks very unprofessional and makes it more difficult to figure out who works there and who is another customer - I was able to see that they were all, for the most part, serving other customers. My husband noticed right away that customers who entered the store after us were being served ahead of us. I convinced him that some of the employees are probably in sales, while others address other issues. We waited about 25 more minutes without being acknowledged, and after noticing there were four staff members huddled around having a conversation unrelated to their jobs, we became annoyed and left. We drove to another mobile service provider, where, though they were also very busy, we were greeted and served in a timely matter by folks dressed in clothes that allowed us to very quickly figure out who worked there. Was passing over my wife's old phone to my Mom for her 90th Birthday. Went in to get it swapped over. After about 15min a customer service person came over and swapped out the SIM card and handed it back. I told her I needed to get all her phone numbers and pics transferred as well. She refused saying "We don't do that". EVERY phone I've bought in the last 24 years has been transferred by Verizon. My wife just bought a $1000 phone and they did it for us in just a few minutes. I got the store manager and told him she was refusing to do this. He also stated "We don't do that" and handed me a handout with a 800 number to call. I asked him if the did not have the app to allow them to do if for me since I did not have a computer I could use. He again stated "We don't do that". Very poor and disappointing at the attitude and lack of service I recieved. Later my nephew told me that NOBODY goes to that Verizon store. Evidently the word had gotten around. Bought a new phone today and there was no offer of setting up the phone in the store. Bill was confusing and my Verizon agent couldn't explain it. Got home and all info from cloud transferred easily but phone and text would not work. Called number I was given at the store and waited 20 minutes with no response. I had a fairly pleasant experience here the other day. I had a problem with my SIM card and headed over to the store. I was greeted by an employee who put my name on the list and gave me a rough estimate of how long I would be waiting. The store is large, with tons of the latest phones for you to play around with. They also provide wifi, which is nice. After a brief wait a representative saw to my needs quite promptly. The only thing that left a bitter taste in my mouth was the amount of up selling done by the representative. I'm there to get a technical issue resolved for my phone, and I'm getting pestered about why I won't upgrade to the iphone 7. Blah. I talked the whole time with Austin, and am SO HAPPY to have met with him; he made the experience enjoyable and informative. Me and my wife came to the store this afternoon to switch her from AT&T to Verizon. We were greeted promptly and put our name down. When we met with the sales person he was very helpful and started right away on the process to change us over. He wrote down the prices that we would pay for the unlimited plan and also told us about the deals for some new phones. However we were keeping our original iPhone so we didn't take advantage of any of those offers. He told us how to unlock her phone and to call him back once it was completed. We were in and out in under an hour. After our phone was unlocked we put in the new Sim card and called the sales person back and Verizon ported over our number which my wife has had for almost 20 years and now we've switched phone plans to Verizon I think will be very happy. I have been in this store for a few years. Have had nothing but positive experiences until today. I had a phone that was 18 mos or so old, and was giving me issues....they "tweeked" it and we thought it was fixed. It was not. Came back, they worked on it again....thought it was fixed again, it was not...had to give me a "new" phone under warranty, only it wasn't new,and had as many issues as the old one (had pleasant experiences with the technicians I worked with every time!!!! until today....)....came back in....the technician I had was not only unhelpful, but almost rude. wouldn't help. I was pretty upset when I left the store...I can handle waiting ( 30 minutes or so...brought a book, ,so all good), but was brushed off.....immediately and rudely...i guess I haven't spent enough to be a bother...drove to the Brevard Road location and was immediately taken care of, and it was the most pleasant experiences I have ever had with Verizon...bye bye tunnel road....won't need your services again...... read more

I then drove thirty minutes to the Airport Road location where they could have not have been nicer. They not only sent me home with a new phone, but also provided an upgrade. No problems here. From my experience, If you are anywhere in Buncombe County this is the store to go to. I noticed today that some employees from Airport Rd are over at this one so to be specific talk to Adam H., if you can. I spent hours on the phone with Verizon CS and TS as well Samsung tech support last month trying to resolve an issue and eventually the only resolution was an update that solved the issue. Since then (February) I am on my 3rd (!) phone and will be calling CS to get a different model. While the reps at this particular store weren't able to directly solve my problem, they also weren't afraid to say "I don't know, but let me find out" or try to just get me out the door by selling me other products (see review of Airport Road Store). This means a lot to me, as it should to everyone. They were concerned about my issues and tried to find the proper people to directly address them. Although my issues weren't solved there today (there is really nothing they can do w/o being a Samsung expert, and even Samsung TS was stumped) I was grateful to see someone take interest in doing whatever needed to be done to find a resolution. Anything I physically need from Verizon now will be at this store, without exception. read more

Drove all the way to Asheville to upgrade my bf's phone. Just kidding. He really want to act on his upgrade the moment it was available, so we got up and headed to the nearest verizon store. He said good bye to his ancient flip phone and hello to his first smart phone, an iPhone 5. The person helping us was very friendly and nice but we were probably there for an hour, perhaps even longer. I believe this is a reflection of verizon as a corporation in general. Working in a verizon store sounds to me like the biggest pain in the ass job ever. Plans, phones, technology is just moving forward so quickly I don't know how people at these stores are able to keep up. The reason our upgrade processing took so freaking long is that they no longer offer the 300mg data option we have had for the past year, so when the guy tried to add the bf's iphone 5 to the plan it wouldn't process. He was about to go in and void the whole damn transaction after 3 other employees/managers came over and offered different suggestions on how to fix the issue so the phone could be activated. Sounds like the system is WAAY to complicated for it's own good. Anyway, we got the freakin' phone and were on our way after some apologies. Oh well. read more

LET ME TELL YOU. I went into Verizon excited to be disconnecting my line from my parents. The sales guy was great in helping me see my data usage and find the appropriate plan of 3 GB. While there he continued to tell me I could get a tablet for free and my bill would be the same price. He continued to push and push this "free" tablet and even told me if I didn't want to use it I could sell it. I thought, "what the heck," and got it. About a week and a half later I started to get notifications from Verizon that my phone was exceeding my data usage. This was confusing. I accessed my online account and it said I only had 500 MB for my phone. And 2 for the stupid tablet. So I call Verizon and they inform me that not only do I only have 500 MG on my phone I have to pay ten bucks a month for the tablet. After some vulgar words while on the phone the guy on the 800 number completely validated me and agreed that I had been lied too. He says that luckily I am able to return the tablet since I am within 14 days BUT since it is opened I will be charged a 75 dollar re-stocking fee. Can you guys take one guess about who opened the tablet and gave it to me outside of the box? The guy at the store. I go back to the store to talk to Jesus's manager and I am informed they do not have managers. So I go to Verizon and Steve "helps" me by listening to me respectfully rant for 20 minutes and then informing me that he cannot help me but his team lead can. The customer service at the story absolutely BLOWS. I refuse to go there and it is upsetting that these poor employees are hindering Verizon who has been a great service provider. read more

Went into the store to upgrade my phone July 30,2013, I've had problems ever since. I've been in the past week five times to get it straightened out. Have I? No! Only change previously is that I didn't have to be outside to talk on the phone even those I was talking to we're in the same town. Five trips in six days to the store to correct the situation. Yes, they would issue me a new phone, it would take an additional eight days before I could possibly receive it and make another trip into the store. Or if I was willing to pay them more money I could receive it at their store overnight. Is this my fault? NO. Why should I have to pay for their faulty merchandise to get it corrected promptly?
