Working at Verizon must be tough given how technology just sometimes doesn't work. I'm sure they get thrown shade when that happens. However, my pop in at this store was handled well. I live in Southeast Washington, DC, and Verizon service here is absolutely awful. There's almost no signal anywhere -- calls constantly drop, texts fail to send, and the data is unbelievably slow. It feels like Verizon completely forgot about this area. I finally got tired of paying high prices for nothing and switched to another network that's cheaper, faster, and has full signal everywhere. Verizon is the worst choice for anyone living in Washington, DC, especially Southeast. Save your money and go with another provider. read more

I Visited the Verizon store on 8th street SE and had the best experience EVER!!!!! I went in too inquire about home internet services and was waited on immediately by a wonderful lady by the name Heilie with assistance from the very knowledgeable mgr Asad. All my question's were answered even the ones that I forgot to ask they asked and answered for me. No one will greet you. I would not recommend doing business with Verizon in general and definitely not this location. They are not well trained and not helpful at all. Very poor customer service. Very rude and and takes a long wait to get service. The person who "helped" me is named Asad and he did nothing to make my experience better. There was a child running around like it was a daycare. Swung by here yesterday on our way to the Nationals game (Go NATS) because my boss' iPhone wasn't sending text messages. He was getting I-messages just fine but for some reason I couldn't get his texts to go through as delivered. I googled in and tried troubleshooting it myself, but to no avail. I read that it was a carrier problem and needed to be addressed by his phone provider, lucky for my boss I'm really stubborn and hate being stumped by technology so this place was on our walk towards Nats park. We arrived and the gentlemen was working with another customer so we hung out a bit, and while he was still finishing up with charging the other guy he asked what he could do for us. Nice enough, right?! Well I tried to make light of the situation and joked about how if everyone had an iPhone this wouldn't be a problem. Sarcasm can be lost on people... I realize this. He took a look at the phone, asked what steps we've taken and I told him we had turned the iMessage off restarted the phone, turned it back on; but did not sign out of Apple ID. He looked at the phone for a bit, handed it back and told us it was a well-known Apple problem and not a Verizon problem...and that we needed to take it to an Apple store. Seemed easy enough? Well my boss decided to just try the Verizon store near him and boom...he sent me an imessage earlier today and told me it was a Verizon network problem, he didn't have texting turned on (he's an old head who had a flip phone up until a month ago -_-) but really? I mean even with the bad information it wasn't a big deal...I just coulda had a better experience without the attitude. It's not what I'm used to expecting when dealing with Verizon... so total miss on this one. If you're in the area and looking for Verizon support, you're better off trying somewhere else. read more

The worst customer service. They will lie to you and try to extort you. Got a new iPhone. They insisted I pay $20 -- in advance of them even ordering the new phone -- for a set up fee. I questioned this and he insisted it would be worthwhile because he would set up everything in my new phone and get it working. A week later when I arrived to pick up my new phone, having already paid for the service fee, suddenly the same employee claimed that none of the data on my phone could be transferred unless I purchased additional iCloud storage first. Refused to help in any other way. Accused me of lying when I said that in the past, Verizon employees have always transferred my contacts and data to my new phone without charging for it or making me use the cloud. So, eventually, I at least got him to refund the set up service fee and said I would set up the phone myself. This literally involved nothing more than turning on Bluetooth and letting the two devices talk to each other. They're Apple devices and extremely easy to set up. Like, would not be worth paying any money for under any circumstances. But especially obnoxious to be lied to and told I needed to pay for even more iCloud storage just to transfer data between devices. You should be ashamed of charging your customers for fake services. read more

Avoid this retailer at all costs! I went in a month ago. Waited patiently for assistance. Was told I had to wait a month to be eligible for an upgrade. Returned yesterday. I upgraded to the Galaxy Note 3. My sales rep advised the Manager that I was entitle to a $100 rebate but the Manager told him it was not available on this phone. I was charged $199 for the phone. I went home and found the same phone on sale at Best Buy for $99.99. I returned to the store and spoke with the Manager. His response? "What do you want me to do about it?" When I asked for a refund he told me I would be charged a restocking fee of $30 and he claim a earphones came with the phone!!! Another sales person informed me that Best Buy sold re-furbished phones. I took my refund and am headed to Best Buy. I would strongly advise others to follow suit. Shop around...but not here. read more

There hours on the web are wrong, the ups secure site is not so secure and they are not customer friendly. Went to pick up a package and they said they did not have it, I asked for them to call UPS and they said they could not. I asked to have them look it up by tracking number but they said they could not do that either. I asked they check if they received it and they said it cannot be tracked. I signed up on Yelp just to make sure my experience at this Verizon store was known by other folks around the Hill, heck..everyone for that matter! I love supporting small business in my neighborhood. Great customer service should be recognized as it can be hard to find nowadays. So I came into the store earlier this week to upgrade and had one of the most outstanding experiences I have ever had in retail with Lazuru (Sorry if I butchered his name). When I came in, he was cleaning the store which looked clean and spotless! Smelled great too. He was courteous with his greeting, welcoming with his approach and very knowledgeable about Verizon plans and smartphones. All while being professional. He didn't sound "robotic". It was a genuine approach. He walked me through how my bill was going to improve with new plans since I was on some older plan so that alone made me happy. The store got a busy and he was solo yet he was able to provide everyone attention, all with a smile which we need more of from other Verizon locations. This guy knows how to multi-task and has great energy. When he went to the back to get me a case for my iPhone, the 3 other folks at the store were very impressed with his attention to detail. Everyone looked happy. He helped me set-up my phone as I am not the most tech-savvy person in the world and he did it with patience and knowledge. One of the guys actually got a bundle due to the fact that he was impressed with how great Lazuru was. After everything was complete, he escorted me out to the door and told me I can always come back to the store or call if I had any questions. He is the definition of outstanding customer service. His approach isn't aggressive. The fact that his approach is so genuine makes you want to buy more. The store itself smelled and looked great and everything about the experience was 5 stars. My 1st cell phone was having problems. Went to the store at 703 8th St NE, DC and Anthony was of great help. He was very nice and helpful. He used his magic wand to do somethings that freed up a lot of space and also allowed me to add more apps to the phone since it had locked apps that took up much space. I won't know if it solved the original probs but, I have to use it to see. He told me if that didn't work to come back and he'd be happy to help me. I had to wait a bit due to a customer with involved probs but, all it cost me was a little time. YAY! read more

I had been experiencing some operating issues with my LG Ally. Representatives at other Verizon Wirless locations were unable to help me until I found Rich King at the Capitol Hill Wireless Zone. He diagnosed my problem and the phone was up and running in a few minutes. I was so pleased with his knowledgeable, helpful and patient service that I returned this winter and upgraded to an iPhone 4s. This is the only Verizon Wireless location that I will go to in the future and luckily it is right in my neighborhood. read more

My mom, who is in her eighties, and I came in to get her a new iPhone. Asad was fantastic, transferring all of my mom's info and apps from the old to the new phone and setting it all up in her Verizon account. He ended up saving her almost $40 a month on her bill, enough to pay for the phone and then some. He got us a new cover and screen protector, put it all on, and gave my mom a quick tutorial in using the phone--all while assisting other customers! We've used this store before, and have always been more than pleased--amazed really--at the level of customer service. On Saturday, I had a phone stolen from me and really needed a phone as my boss is traveling and only had that number. I had a really positive experience at the Wireless Zone on 8th Street SE and wanted to share it here for others who find dealing with phone providers to be kind of a hassle. I had actually put off replacing my phone for a couple of years just because I didn't want to put up with the trouble of going in and having to have some salesperson try to sell me a bigger plan and stuff I didn't want. My experience with Anthony on 8th street could not have been better. He talked over the different options I had available, let me explain what I really wanted and what my needs were. I wasn't interested in the "hot new phone," I wanted an older model with a solid track record. The guys at Wireless Zone respected my choice, there was no sales push or attempt to sign me onto a more expensive plan. They got me set up with a switch over to the new model and get everything set up with a minimum of trouble. It was a real pleasure dealing with Anthony and the manager, Mr. Agha. If you're in the market for a new phone or need help, I'm happy to recommend these guys without reservation! read more
