Store was actually helpful, but I gotta say Fios customer service is absolutely abysmal. Phone system constantly forces you into an automated option and hangs up on you if you don't select the exact right options. Chat tells you signing up for internet will only take 5 minutes but takes 1.5 hours and then doesn't follow through on promised discounts and overcharges by $25 a month. And then they say they can't help me because it's already been processed. So I go into the store just so I can actually have someone competent hopefully competent to speak with and luckily they had Damien who I think is the manager. Dude was very attentive and courteous to customers even though there were like 8 people he was trying to manage with a team of 3 at once. Only taking 1 star away because I had to come into the store to begin with because of Fios customer service's complete incompetence. I have no problem with Verizon as a company, in fact I would tell anyone to sign up with them. My issue was this store in particular. I came here to upgrade my phone & the store has the phones attached to the wall so you can't fully pick it up or have it in your hand, which I under is a security measure, but if that's the case, what's the point of the security guard in the store??? I digress though because I had a idea of what I wanted. The associate who helped me seemed less than enthused & he didn't process my order correctly. When I called Verizon they informed me the rep had my order listed as a new purchase vs trade in & I told the rep it was a trade in, but luckily that was a quick fix. Due to Covid they're not doing the process of handing your phone in at the store, which I wish I would've known that from customer service because I could've avoided the trip all together. Due to a wiring problem in my building, I was not able to use Verizon and had to go with another company instead, but this was not Verizon's fault. We got there about ten minutes before their listed closing time, to look for phone cases. No one indicated that we'd need to hurry or that they were closing. A man (can't remember his name) came by to help us but he didn't really seem sure of the availability of the cases we were interested in. We finally find one that's in stock. He tried to process the sale and says "oh we're closed down for the night." He couldn't have told us that before? Why was he helping us with a sale? So strange. I own my own consulting business, and Verizon targeted me with ads for a business account. I went in to the store and was directed to the business account manager. From there it has became an unmitigated disaster. This person opened the business account, but apparently could only take the process so far. The instructions provided were always incomplete, missing information and lacking in clarity. I have spent nearly six hours sitting on the phone with customer service, only to get the calls dropped or something else happens. Right now all of the phone lines are stuck in limbo, with zero data. It has become a business continuity crisis. If I could go back to the start of this, I would have just started this with another carrier and left Verizon. Unfortunately, I'm at their mercy at this point -- stuck with phones that only work in WIFI and no path for getting this situation rectified. read more

I am a resident of the forest hills/rego park area for many years and came here for my first cell phone and had to leave amd go home to finish the process and still had to come back for them to do their job. Following a disastrous experience with this Verizon store on Friday and even more disastrous experience with the texting Technical Support service representative on Saturday, I wound up with a new iPhone that the first representative at this Vetizon store today began equally dreadful. The representative told me that they could not "un-disable" my new phone because they did not have access to iTunes on any equipment! Instead I would have to go the Apple Store to have it restored. I have a serious physical disability and such a trip across town is simply impossible for me to manage on my own. Verizon caused the problem. In my opinion the store should not send me to the Apple Store. Apparently, when I left the agent's station, the manager was told how upset I was. The manager's name is David. At great personal inconvenience, he was able to restore my phone and sync my new Apple watch (which is all I asked for when I came into Verizon on Friday). He was respectful and more than accommodating to my needs and technical issues. I am so appreciative of his help. I now have my phone and Apple watch without travelling to the Apple Store. I went to this Verizon store (Austin Street in Forest Hills) on Friday 4/6 at approximately 3pm. I was seeking to upgrade to the Galaxy S9. I looked around the store, which didn't appear very busy, as all of the sales people were at the front desk talking. No one came to assist, so I left the store thinking to come back after handling banking and getting lunch. Leaving myself more time to engage with the sales person. I returned not long afterwards and walked over to look at a display, waiting for someone to assist me. However, immediately following behind me into the store was an older white couple (I am an African American female). The manager, who also happened to be female (I did not get her name) asked the couple if she could be of assistance and quickly escorted them to a sales person. I stood and watched in disbelief. This was my second time in the store in less than an hour and I am again being overlooked/ignored. Usually, I would have called her/the manager out on her behavior, but did not have the energy to do such. I have read all of the other reviews and what is apparent/common thread throughout is that the service at this location is inadequate. Adding to my felt feelings of racial discrimination today, trust me, I will NEVER shop there. I will actually try to contact their corporate office to file a complaint, as I am certain they have cameras and can review my encounter, or lack thereof. Stay away from this location. read more

Absolutely awful service. Only Erick, one gentleman wearing air pods, and another guy who is bad were actually helping customers. The other four guys literally just sat around a table talking and blasting music, and only started working when the manager came out. I was waiting for 20 minutes just to return something. Let's be honest - the only reason why I still use Verizon is because my grandmother doesn't want to change her plan, otherwise I'd use T-Mobile. The garbage quality Verizon's service (both cellular and customer) doesn't bode well for the company's future. My phone had a warranty issue with it so I went to the closest store to my apt. BIG MISTAKE. They were going over my phone about the warranty and he said because the smallest of scratches (not a crack a scratch) they wouldn't be able to send it through warranty, however if I paid the $150 in insurance that could work, or to try selling me an overpriced wireless charger. I couldn't believe that a scratch would do that. I left did my homework, and saw that it wouldn't have voided the warranty. I went to another verizon store at Woodhaven mall and what do you know, he said it was fine to send back for warranty. This store are just a bunch of hustlers and you feel that vibe as soon as you walk in, while the Woodhaven store legittmamtely felt welcoming (he even held onto my old phone while I went shopping!) read more

Customer service at this location is hit or miss. A few days ago my husband bought an iPhone from a great sales associate (who of course tried to up-sell him other products, but didn't push the issue). But then today I try to pay a bill at a kiosk and there's no sign that the machines aren't printing receipts. So I ask a guy behind the counter if he can help me (his name is KEVEL) and he goes, "well someone will be right with you" and he proceeds to goof off behind the counter and stare into space at the construction going in the store and pick his nose! REALLY???? HIt or miss I tell ya... Whenever possible, handle all of your bills, product purchases, phone upgrades, etc - ONLINE!! You won't be disappointed. Spacious store, great selection and friendly staff. My only suggestion is get the employees out of their comfy chairs and give them to the customers who are standing for over an hour while you set up their new cell phone service and attempt to sell over 5 accessories. While I enjoyed their wonderful demonstrations on how the Otter Box allows you to bang up a phone without cracking the screen, I'm standing around, 9 months pregnant, and not a single person offers me a chair despite me spending over $200. As look down the counter at all the customers standing and all the employees sitting, it just felt wrong. Now I don't know if any other locations or business offer a little comfort, but it's something to look into. Conveniently located on Austin near the subway, LIRR and overpriced street parking if you can find a spot. read more

Darn you, Yelp, for not allowing users to give a business zero stars! Let me preface this review with saying: I know Verizon is a great company. Their phone service is by far the best and I miss the days when I had it/could afford it. But their customer service and sales reps are morons. Two years ago I bought my father in law a prepaid phone. I was told that the minimum amount I could put on the phone was $100, and that that amount would expire in a year. Fine. One year later, I called Verizon to verify that this was the case and the customer service rep told me that as long as there is money on the phone, it does not expire. Great! Or so I thought. Recently, I returned to the store to add money to the phone because it was no longer working. The rep informed me that (1) the minimum amount to load on any prepaid phone is $15, and advised against loading so much money on a phone that wasn't used often (duh! But Verizon bamboozled me! I digress...) (2) the phone is disconnected and the left over money on the phone could not be refunded nor could the previous number be restored. Of course, everything this woman was saying made sense. But why did the previous reps tell me false information? Because they're either stupid or poorly trained. No miss, you do not sell with integrity. Not at all. Either way, all of this is a poor reflection on this store and I'd like to warn others against coming to this Verizon. Possibly worst verizon store in New York City. First off, you have to wait about 30 minutes to even be helped with; they are exteremly under staffed. Second: none of the employees know what the fuck is going on, they're constantly telling you different information. I went in 3 days ago for a cellphone upgrade and they told me the price for an iPhone 5s was $140 (tax included). Today, I return with the cash in hand and they tell me its $280. Complete bullshit. Not only that, but the manager is a complete dick and doesn't even try to help you or negotiate anything with you. All they care about is making more money, not about explaining things to their customers or trying to understand their customers... they obviously don't know how to run a business.I am so glad my two year contract has finally ended. AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE OF A STORE. Perhaps one of the worst customer service experiences (only comparable to Time Warner) that one can experience in life. I do not know how this company, especially this store, is still able to operate. Every time I come to this store I know I am in for a ride, because it is their sole job to bullshit, lie, confuse and scam you out of your money. I came in two weeks ago to upgrade my iphone 5 to the 6s, and simply wanted to pay the $400 and taxes and be done with it. Instead, I was bamboozled into the biggest scam there is- the device payment plan, after being promised, multiple times, that it would only cost me $10 more a month via this device payment plan (special discount lies etc). The sales associate was rude and acted like he was doing us a favor after waiting 45 minutes just to shell out money and pay this evil company money. He repeatedly lied to us when pressed about how it would only cost $10 more dollars a month, glossing over important details and telling half truths. At first he almost did not let us upgrade b/c we weren't account managers, even though it was completely possible through other means which he was not aware of, and had to force him to acknowledge just to get the scamming process started...Of course, all this is to be expected from the moronic and poorly trained Verizon employees, who don't have enough braincells to do their simple jobs and push button on their ipads. They are merely capable of parroting 2-3 sentences and doing the dog and pony show with bill-obfuscation and scamming you into fucking yourself over. Sure enough, today, 2 weeks later, and the last day it was possible to cancel the contract, the bill was way more than promised. Multiple people on the phone, from customer service to tech support, all told me different and contrasting things. They told me they needed the physical phone to cancel the contract, so I run in with 15 minutes before store closing, and they didn't even need the phone at all. The worst part is they still tried bullshitting me into keeping the plan. I am just hoping now that my contract actually went back to what it was, although I am sure I am going to have more battles ahead of me. UNETHICAL. After a month long saga, I'm done with Verizon, thanks to this store. Many members of my family have worked for Verizon corporate for decades so it's extremely upsetting that the staff and managers can not get it together. To make a long story short, went in for my upgrade and walked out with 2 new iphones. It was a BOGO, they said. They had us add an extra line for 5 bucks a month and we got an extra free phone. Easy peasy right? We check the bill and nothing is reflective of the deal. We call and they said the BOGO ended the day before we went in the store? How is this possible- then why would they offer us the deal? How would we even know about the BOGO if they didn't push it on us? Called Verizon to fix it and they said they would. We checked back a few weeks later and the unethical manager at this location said they would not honor the deal bc the deal had ended the day before we came in- THEN WHY DID YOU AND YOUR STAFF OFFER US THE DEAL? This is all sorts of wrong. Avoid this store and maybe even the company at this rate. This was one hell of a scheme. ****** You're sorry? Then why didn't you fix it the first time? Or the second time? Why didn't you fix it when customer service called you to confirm? Because you're not sorry. I also see that you've transferred the manager that handled this deal- but in all honesty, he should not be working for the company ever again. I've been to this location several times over the years. Overall, I have to my experiences have been good. I found the customer service reps to be friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that about a year ago, I purchased the Verizon Hum which is a device used in your car and monitors your car's health, driving history and location. I was told by the customer rep that the device would cost just $30 for the Hum device and there would be no monthly service fees so I purchased it. However, I later found out there is a monthly service charge. So either the customer rep purposely neglected to inform me of the monthly service charge or he himself did not know which means he was poorly informed/trained about the Hum device. Either way, not good business practice. Update 1: A few weeks ago I upgraded my phone to a new model, Xavier was very helpful and knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions about the new phone and it's features. So for Xavier I would give him a 4 star rating. Update 2: Unfortunately not long after getting my new phone I lost it. I went back to this Verizon store hoping to get a replacement phone the same day. Upon entering the store one of the customer service reps took my name for the waiting list and asked me what I was there for. I told the woman I just lost my phone and wanted to get a replacement. I waited for over a half hour before I was finally helped, only to learn that I had to file a claim either by phone or online and that it would take a few days before I would receive a new phone. Now couldn't the woman who greeted me and took my name have taken less than 1 minute to tell me that instead of making me wait all that time? There are some very capable and knowledgeable people working there but obviously not everyone is. Your experience will vary greatly depending who you are lucky or unlucky enough to get as your customer representative that day. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. They obviously train their employees to lie to their customers... either that or they don't train them at all and the employees show up to work every day and talk out of their asses. 3 of us went in to find out pricing for an unlimited family plan. Erick was our sales rep and, upon having us choose our phones, he broke down our monthly fees for us and showed us what we would be paying each month. It was over $30 cheaper per person than what we were paying with ATT so we decided to switch over. There was lie #1. Come to find, he actually quoted us for 2GB rather than unlimited. You're probably thinking "okay maybe he made a mistake." No, he intentionally quoted us for the cheaper plan and then put the plan we were inquiring about in the system because another employee came over and asked him if he made sure he switched it from 2GB to unlimited in the system. When we heard that, he said he had accidentally printed the receipt saying 2GB but for us to ignore that because he applied the right plan to our account. He never once said "by the way, the original quote I gave you was wrong because it was for 2GB rather than unlimited." Moving onto lie #2. He told us we would get a 15% discount off our bill every month because my husband works for the city. Not the case at all, apparently it only applies to individual plans. Lie #3. There were originally only 2 of us switching over. He said they were currently doing a BOGO promotion so only one person would be paying off their phone every month- which is true. Here is where the deceit comes in. He said in addition to that, the person who wasn't getting the free phone would receive $150 credit for switching to Verizon. Not the case at all- apparently if you do the BOGO you DO NOT get the $150 credit. Additionally, it isnt even $150 but rather $100. Lie #4. He told us in order to get the free phone, we would have to trade in a phone. We agreed and traded in my husband's Galaxy S7. Come to find, he never entered it into the system so there is no tracking for it, therefore, no credit can be applied to our bill. On top of that, when we called the store to rectify the situation, they said they didn't know where the phone was and they basically couldn't do anything but call us back because "we didn't give the phone to them, we gave it to Erick." Ummm.... okay, you're all employees of Verizon right? So any employee should be able to help us. They also never bothered to call us back. He also failed to mention that in order to get the price he quoted us, we would have to enroll in auto pay. It wasn't until I read a sign explaining the unlimited plan pricing that I saw we would need to enroll in that. When I brought it up to him his response was "Yes, the price I gave you was if you did auto pay." Okay do when were you planning on telling us that bit of information? He would have just never said anything had I not brought it up. So now we have been with Verizon for a whopping 24 hrs and have not only been robbed of a phone, but also have a monthly bill that is $100 more than we were sold for. Nothing but liars and thieves at this store. I have already contacted Verizon Corp. and am in the process of trying to file a complaint against the store and the employee who we worked with. Update : decided to give this establishment another try, I just needed a simple screen protector for my Galaxy 7. They brought me out a screen protector and it was over 35 bucks! I had a terrible experience with this store. What should have been a simple transaction turned into multiple trips to the store. I came in looking to purchase a phone at full price because I wanted to keep my grandfathered plan. The first customer service rep said I couldn't do that and I would have to pick up a new plan. After 15 min arguing with the guy, I gave up. I then called customer service and they told me that as long as I purchased the phone at full price from them, I could keep my plan. I ended up coming back to the store and got a different rep. But before I could even tell her I wanted to buy a new phone, I was told the system was down. I came a third time after they called me to let me know that the system was back up. I informed the rep of my previous experience, and she defended the male rep on the first go around. Told me he didn't want to sell me a new phone because he was afraid that my original plan would be cancelled. Really? So after finally picking up the phone, I started to have hardware issues with it. I had to go back for a 4th time! And had to pick a different cell model. After I told the fourth rep of my experience she still wanted to charge me for the new glass protector on top of exchanging the phone! That will be the last time I'm going to come to this branch. read more

While I have no issue with Verizon or the service (I've been a customer for over 15 years), I do have a problem with this store. I stopped in to discuss data boost plans, unlimited data plans and upgrading to a new phone. They seemed less than enthused to help me...almost bored by my questions and that I was wasting their time. Told me to call 611 for help and mocked me for misstating the type of plan I was on. While they did not say it, their overall tone was that I was stupid for not answering their questions correctly and for not knowing to call 611 to get my specific questions answered. After leaving, I did call 611 and had a lovely customer service rep help me with my concerns/questions. For the first time, I seriously considered switching carriers after my encounter at this store. If I were you, I'd recommend calling Verizon first to have your questions answered, or go to a different store! read more

I went in for a simple SIM card. I put my name on the list and was told there was 2 people ahead of me. While waiting for my name to be called, 3 new people were seen. 2 customers that were already being seen were finished and left. 4 Verizon reps finished helping customers and either left the store completely with their bags in tow or went on break never to be seen again. Other customers were waiting and they had no regard for this. At one point, there was about 12-15 customers on the floor and not one single Verizon rep to be seen. Merchandise all out and they didn't even care. After waiting 30+ mins I walked in front of a now new customer about to be helped - mind you she just walked in and was being seen and I was waiting over 30mins- and questioned why every rep is going on break when other customers were waiting and it just so happened I was seen. TERRIBLE customer service here. Why have a waiting list of customers if you will pick and choose. Highly recommend going elsewhere! read more
