We have been Verizon customers since about 1999 (whenever cell phones came out). My husband lost his cell phone and we ordered a new cell phone that was compatible with our plan. We were having no luck trying to get his phone number and contacts, etc. rolled to the new phone and decided to go into the store. What a SHOCK, we were treated horribly! We were told that "because we have Verizon Pre Pay" they couldn't really help because that is a "help yourself, you're on you're own" service. WHAT?!!! Are you kidding me?! I asked how we could get in touch with a person at Customer Service and were told to just keep calling and pressing '0' over and over and eventually we would get a person. WOW! The "boy" who waited on us, had taken the SIM card out of my husband's new phone because he didn't believe it came with one. On our way out, he held out his finger and said, "You won't get far without this, better take your SIM card". What a horrible disgusting experience! I worked in Customer Service type jobs for many years and would never have dreamed of treating a CUSTOMER this way! After spending a painstaking 5 hours on the phone with customer support, I decided to go into the store because I was not getting a resolution via phone with Verizon. Tiffany, the manager, at the store was able to resolve my issue no problem and was very helpful. I would highly recommend using the store for any issues in the future. read more

When you switch over to Verizon, sell your current (old) phones and buy new Verizon ones and one gets lost story. The customer service in our 503 East Knox Square Drive Galesburg, IL location is abhorrent. It's a simple case of zero responsibility for anything that's done or not done with your account because 'they have no control'. Over a year later I'm being charged for a phone I sent in and Verizon lost on the dock. UPS delivered to the dock and signed off. Verizon didn't check it in so I'm out my $800 that's now on my monthly bill. Each visit made has been documented and now, after a year nothing can be done when all the claims and check ins have been nothing short of a pain in the butt. I was handed a piece of paper to call Verizon myself bc the "customer service" agent couldn't do that themselves. In the grand scheme of things...just trying to right a wrong and get my money back. Verizon doesn't care and the sale of my original phone is nothing. Just a waste of complete time and resources on my end to have zero support from the local store. What's the point of having a store location except to sell more phones and pay your bills? read more

Honestly if you want excellent Verizon customer service you need to go to the store in Peoria, IL. Galesburg was less than helpful. The employees were too worried about pushing sales then actually helping solve a problem. They also said there is a rule where they will not swap over any information from old phone to new phone, you must do it all on your own. They told me this was a standard but I have spoke with Verizon customer service and corporate who both stated there is no such standard. Seriously worth your drive and time to shop elsewhere. read more

Don't bother to stop as the customer service here is awful. These employees are rude & would rather check their messages than help. Verizon should fire them all! This is a Verizon company store but call 611 for any help. Don't waste your time stopping. Of all the decent stores that closed in Galesburg, unfortunately this has remained open. read more

The service I've gotten from here has been grate. The only time that service has been sub par is because they're bogged down with customers, which is a reasonable excuse. Also, don't mind the moron who rated it a 1 star because his lack of able to count, because we have 2 Verizon stores, and because he chose to go with the service anyways even though he had ONE bad experience, making him the ignorant one... The workers are friendly and pretty knowledgeable about their hardware. Which doesn't mean go in there without doing some homework about what you're getting and wanting you should always be doing that. read more

This is the only Verizon store in this town. So you really do not have much of a choice to go somewhere else. If you love being ignored by ignorant employees texting on their phones...you will love this place!! The sale I got pretty much earned the first star. read more

This place is horrible, the service here was awful, if you have 2 hours to wait and not be helped then go here. Good luck getting done with what you need too here, cause it's gonna come with a lot of complications. Manager spends more time helping the associates than helping customers due to other associates not knowing what their doing.
