Every time I've been to this Verizon location it's always been busy. You register by placing your number in a queue, which is fair. There is a security guard who mans the store and if you get out of line, be prepared to get kicked out- so behave and be patient! Thelda was the associate who assisted us and she was great! She was friendly, straight to the point, and efficient. She answered all of our questions patiently and suggested the best deals they had to offer. Overall, although this particular location is busy, there's a private parking lot, security, and knowledgeable staff ready to assist you. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service!!! This is the 2nd time I have come into this location and had to endure the verbal berating and lack luster attitudes from employees. Would not have even come in here again, except it is Sunday and most other locations are closed and my phone was malfunctioning to the point of going in/out of service due to needing an upgrade. This time, the sales associate Coreigh and the "manager" Travon Tyler refused to sell me a new phone stating my driver's license "looked fishy". I have used this ID MULTIPLE times at the airport and other places, recently, and never, ever had any issues! Upon showing him my school ID, credit cards, and other identification - even after logging into my account on my phone- he STILL refused to service me stating he needed a passport or something else. WTH? He then showed my driver's license to the officer on duty there (E. Harris) and they shared side glances with each stating it just didn't look right. All of this was AFTER I waited in line for 15 minutes to be helped, then another 10 minute for them to go in the back and talk. Awful service. I would avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

They delete very serious negative reviews from Google. I had a horrific experience here and experienced sexism (Tuesday, January 3rd approx. 6pm). Rog was completely sexist and somehow assumed I wanted a personal phone plan due to being a young woman instead of a business account despite me coming in for a business account. I was transferring from AT&T to Verizon. He never once asked me what kind of account I wanted and to profile me on the spot and assume I wasn't a business owner is appalling. The look on his face when I said I was here for a business account (mind you- after he set up a personal account without me asking or without him clarifying what kind I wanted) - he was absolutely baffled and his reply was "YOU have a business??" Then he said he wouldn't be able to help me at all with business accounts and said I have to call Verizon today. Low and behold- been on the phone with Verizon for over 3 hours today and they're running around trying to figure out how to NOT pull my credit again and switch me to a business account (which results in a hard inquiry and since my credit got pulled less than 24 hours ago that is going to put a massive dent in my credit score). So what- now I have to take the repercussions from an employee profiling me??? Absolutely not- I refuse. It's absolutely unacceptable. Lastly, not only did he absolutely screw me over in every way. He didn't let me know when he was doing the number transfer so naturally my AT&T phone gets shut off while I'm in store. He then proceeds to tell me I can't sit in the store and do my data transfer to my new phone because they're closing in an hour. Hence, he left me completely without data or a working phone. I just moved here and got completely lost trying to get home which put my safety in jeopardy and of course he didn't care enough to disclose all this ahead of time that he was about to leave me without a phone. Note: when transferring to a business account you get the transfer fee waived- since he put me down as a personal account without my consent, I got charged the transfer fee. Never returning to this Verizon - literally go anywhere else but here. I'm already in the process of submitting reports to corporate about this location - I will absolutely fight this until I see justice because there is no room for sexism in our society. AS OF 09-03-2020 THEY CLOSE AT 6PM Anyways I just came in here to get a new phone because my boss requires all his managers to have an iPhone. I was greeted outside by a guy named Conner and he was super polite and professional. I came in 10 minutes before closing ( its my only day off and I had a crazy ton of errands to run) and they were super cool and nice still. So when I was trying to pay for the phone, the contactless payment system was absolute CRAP. There kept being "errors during transaction" each time we put in our card information despite the information being correct. We both called our banks and approved the activity on our cards and the stupid new system STILL didn't work. Its was super frustrating to me and confusing to the poor staffs there. Eventually it was well after closing but they kept working with me and tried to find out the issue. I had two employees fully focused on helping me and despite the situation being crappy, they brainstormed through the issue and finally got my payment approved so I could get my iphone. So yeah despite Verizon epicly failing, the people working for the company are 100% INCREDIBLE! (I think wearing gloves and implementing sanitizing protocol is much better, more efficient, and simpler than contactless ideas. Switched over from AT&T and had a WAY better experience at this store and with Raj, in particular. Raj was VERY helpful and VERY knowledgeable about all the different promotions offered. This is a review for this store location, not Verizon itself. However, I see people complaining about a previous manager's customer service. I had an experience with a manager not named below and let me tell you it was no better. The manager at this location was absolutely no help at all. I needed to cancel an order, or rearrange shipping methods due to an error on Verizon's behalf, and he said there were no options. He was condescending and asked why I did something that didn't make sense in the first place, and as I mentioned, I had to let him know it was Verizon's doing, not mine. I asked if he could call another manager or customer service and he simply refused saying there was nothing that could be done. I went to my car, called customer service myself, and got the issue resolved in 10 minutes. I went back in to complete the order and he was "shocked" that it was able to be done. All associates at that time were busy, and he was not, and he just stood there and told me to wait for the next available associate as he did nothing. I was signing up for service. This was my first experience with Verizon and it was absolutely dreadful. Zero customer service skills, no accommodation, no understanding, and no effort whatsoever to address the issue and look for options for resolution. read more

You seduce me with your reasonable rates and stories of how I'll have perfect reception in Alaska. You tell me that my contracts are easy to get out of. You offer me numerous types of gadgets. And what do you provide me? Crazy add on fees and rude customer service. Absolutely no coverage in Alaska (yep, I landed in Seattle and found out that I'd missed 23 calls) as you promised. And your cheap phone broke almost immediately and you charged me an arm and a leg for a replacement. Oh, an roaming fees while I was in McAllen, did not go over well with me. Best of all, you lied to my face and claimed that I extended my contract. No siree-Bob-Joe, I did not. I would never want to prolong the agony of dealing with such incompetent idiots. And when I could list every single phone call, with every single person I'd talked to (with extensions), getting quiet is not enough of an apology. Not enough, thank you. Such mixed emotions . . . I can't wait to leave Verizon. I think the company is pretty useless. "Fewest dropped calls"!?!?!?! HA! I can hardly hold a conversation with anyone for more than 30 seconds and I'm talking about being in Montrose and Midtown! There is no reasonable excuse for that to happen in the center of Houston! I should just pay the $175 cancellation fee to get out of my contract because I really can't handle them for another year. I've put up with this for almost three years already. There's also always some excuse or simple explanation why my too-expensive Treo has all of these quirks and problems. No one at Verizon has ever heard of these glitches before when I tell them . . . UNTIL they get a newer version of the phone. Then the story changes, and they tell me they've had all sorts of complaints about the current version and they advise me to get the new one because that should solve everything. How stupid am I that I fell for that? I give them three stars because, even though I hate the company, this particular location still deserves some praise. I went in because my phone was damaged and I needed to get a replacement through the insurance program. The gentleman who helped me was very nice, connected me to the third-party insurer on the phone, looked up all of my personal account information and came back to make sure everything was handled when I was done on the phone. If they weren't representatives for Verizon, I would give them a higher rating. read more

Went in to take over two numbers and take financial responsibility for them. After 1.5 hours of waiting on for the sales guy to get an answer from the phone rep., they say I need to pay $800 deposit for two lines....my credit score is 791 at the time. So I say never mind. Come back a week later with credit report and they say "wow, it worked this time, zero deposit." So I get it switched specifically requesting a printed receipt to verify that the two lines share one plan. Same sales guy says they can't print a receipt and swears that it's right. Guess what? Got a bill today for two lines paying double fees.... Very inept...this is an understatement. read more

She is one of the managers at this location and she has helped me with phones, cases, accessories, cracked screens,changing my plan, you name it. I won't go to any other store or work with anyone else besides Thelda. She's the best. This store has the worst customer service of any cell phone store I have ever been to. I came in to set up a new business account that I was bringing over to Verizon from Sprint. As a business customer bringing over 6 lines I expected some notion of customer service. I was directed to Thelda, the so called small business expert and the first thing she does before even asking about my needs etc was to hand me her employee tablet to fill out the application. I had to struggle to figure out how to work her machine and clumsily entered all my information then she took it and ran the app. They needed some more documentation which I had with me. I gave them to her and she said she was to busy to fax it and had me come back the next day I came back and gave my name at the door and was told I was next. I waited almost an hour while Thelda helped 3 different customers who came in after me. I don't know if they were her friends or what. She finally got my docs faxed and told me to wait which I did and she just needed to call the verification department back. I told her i would come back in an hour to give her time. When I came back she was at lunch so I was told to come back once again and when I did she was gone for the day. Nobody could help me so I called back and spoke to her and she assured me she would call right back after she spoke to the verification department. I never received that call and ended up going to another location which was able to get my lines set up instantly. I made 4 visits and spent over 3 hours at this store. read more

Went in here to change my Sprint phone & service over to Verizon. I have an iphone 6s. I talk to the clerk, (greasy-haired guy who walked with a stoop), and explain my situation. He told me Sprint phones are notoriously hard to transfer to new networks, and mine probably wouldn't work. Then he switched out the sim card and told me because it asked me to select a wifi network to setup service, instead of starting immediately on the verizon network, it's clear my phone wouldn't work, so I'd have to buy a new one. That was my only option if I wanted to switch. Really? One of the most widely owned cell phones isn't compatible? Seemed fishy to me. I left and found you can enter you phone ID # on Verizon's website to see if it is compatible with their network if you're trying to switch providers. Turns out mine was! No surprise... Went to the Verizon in Sugar Land to switch; they didn't have any problems letting me use my Sprint phone on the Verizon network there... I'm now a Verizon customer; no new phone required. Don't visit the Westheimer location, or give them your money. Buncha liars. read more

have always had great experiences at this store until yesterday. yesterday I went in to get a new phone cause mine just completely stopped working the previous evening. the manager, a black woman and a young latina said they were overnighting a new phone to my residence. since I had to work I took off. my phone is the only way I communicate with my 3 jobs and my mother and daughter who live out of town. both women verified that my phone was being overnighted. I log on to my laptop around noon after not seeing my fedex lady and guess what. my phone was not overnighted. so I just missed making $200 at work. I will never go to this store again. Thelda Jones has terrible customer service. She was pretty rude and made the choice to openly talk negatively about my spouse while i was on the phone with him because she did not apply his manager discount on a pair of air pods. She also talked down to her coworkers and made a point to point at her watch and saying that she has to go, its time to go. When my phone charger stopped working, I found myself dreading a trip into the Verizon Store to exchange it. The charger was under warranty, but still, I felt like every Verizon Store experience I'd had in the past left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Well, I was extremely pleased with the customer service I received today at the Westheimer Verizon Store. I was greeted with a smile and was in and out in 5 minutes. Not even kidding. No wait time and the lady helping me even took the charger out of the box for me and was pleasant the whole time. I wasn't asked to upgrade and nobody tried to sell me anything I didn't need. This will definitely be my preferred Verizon Store from now on! read more

Verizon Wireless has stopped workin' for me. I have a BlackBerry Tour. A simple Google search containing the following three search terms will provide you with a wealth of information concerning the problem I've been having with my Tour since the day I took it out of the box: green dot trackball Ultimately, this problem is attributable to the phone's manufacturer, RIM. However, I have no contractual relationship with RIM. I bought the phone from Verizon, and they provide all of its services. So, when I finally realized that I wasn't the only one whose trackball was seriously effed (there are reports that up to 50% of BlackBerry Tours are returned due to this problem), I went into the River Oaks store and asked for a replacement. The problem is so widespread that phones manufactured since the defect has been identified and corrected are identified with a green dot (either on the packaging or inside the battery cover; no one at Verizon seems to know for sure). Verizon never promised me a rose garden, so I simply asked that my phone be replaced with a Green Dot Phone. The people in the store first responded by looking at me like I was from Jupiter. I said, "The internet is on fire with complaints about this specific problem with this specific phone. If you don't know about it, then you either started working here yesterday, or you have been instructed to participate in some kind of cover up." I reiterated my demand for a replacement and promised them with all the sincerity my face can convey that I would not leave the store without a new phone. The store manager, Cori Shirley, advised me that they could only give me a factory refurbished phone because I purchased my phone more than 30 days ago. In any event, she said, they didn't have any factory refurbished phones in stock. That would have been a fine answer except for one major fact: NO ONE KNEW THAT THERE WAS A FUNDAMENTAL DEFECT WITH THE TRACKBALL UNTIL AT LEAST THIRTY DAYS AFTER MY PURCHASE. In other words, the defect was not discoverable during the return period. Naturally, I explained this eighteen times in seven languages, both to Cori and to the yahoos who answer Verizon's technical assistance calls. While I suppose it's possible that Verizon's standard contract contains a clause in which its customers waive claims for the implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose, I can't imagine that they do. Such an attempt could too easily be challenged as an unenforceable contract of adhesion. I then began forwarding Cori and three of her colleagues links from several web forums in which this problem is discussed (ad nauseum), and in which several Verizon customers reported having successfully exchanged their phones in various stores around the country. When neither Cori nor her incompetent "technical supervisor" counterpart seemed willing to budge, I began to explain the legal implications of Verizon's refusal to provide me with a replacement phone when its knowledge of a massive failure in one of its devices is so commonly known as to be beyond dispute. I did not get into the drastically more serious consequences of a class action, but only because that didn't occur to me until I was on my way home, fuming, defective Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Tour in hand. At this point, I don't think I would settle for less than a brand new device (WITH A GREEN DOT) and one month's free service. Maybe two. They've have wasted at least that much of my time. Verizon has, far and away, the best wireless service in the United States. Certainly, they know this, and their execs have probably made a high-level corporate decision to rest on their laurels and save money by offering subpar customer service. We'll see how far that gets them. I'm going to post this on every site that will let me, tweet it, Facebook it, and leave a copy on Marvin Zindler's grave. Then, I'm going to fax my demand letter to legal. Tomorrow, I will get in my car, and I will travel to other Houston-area stores (maybe all of them), and i will make the same demand to the managers of those stores that I made of Cori, and I will document the responses I get. I will continue to behave like a crazy person until I get the correct response, which can be summed up in four words: New phone, green dot. You told me you weren't deaf, Cori. Okay. So prove to me that you're listening. New phone...green dot. read more

Three experiences here and each time the customer service was fantastic. I expected them to be nice when I was a new customer buying a new Droid two years ago. I hoped they would be nice when that phone died still within warranty period. I did not expect them to be nice when my phone died out of the warranty period. But they were equally nice on all three visits. And each time, I walked out with a working phone and all my contacts, without having to pay a penny. I joined Verizon because I had trouble commuinicating in my new building at work so I asked if my brand new I Pnone X will work with their system and they said Yes. I change carriers and later I found that the service was even worst, it was dropping calls and Internet just did not work. Therefore I called customer service to cancel my account, a representative named Letresa Thompson said that the devices was to blame because were not from Verizon she then offered to exchange at no cost my two I-phone X for two new verizon I-phone X which I agreed to. to my surprise they charged my account both phones in Monmthly installments when i found out I called and spoke to supervisor Rachael emp ID # 2529993 and explained the situation she said she will pull up the phone conversa5tion I had with Letresa and talked to her Supervisor and to wait a week for her to call, She did not... then I called 5 more times with different people e-mailed Letresa with no avail. I am canceling my service and now I have to pay two extra phones I did not want or need. You been warned. read more

The phone I have sucks, the Chocolate, is one that should be removed from the market. The touch pad just stops working. However, the Verizon staff are always great. I enrolled in my own plan two days ago. I've been with Verizon for a while on my dad's plan, but when I switched to my own plan I experienced the most ridiculous verification process. I definitely understand the importance of the credit check and verifying my information, but I've wasted four hours of my life on the phones with departments the clearly don't communicate with one another. I wanted to buy a new phone, so I paid off my old phone and went into the Apple store but they put a hold on my account for the verification process/credit check. I was approved and have good credit, but I've spent hours trying to get them to add a phone to my account. Every time I call in I have to explain my issue and it takes them several minutes to talk to different departments. Day 3 and I'm still stuck with my old phone. I'm probably dropping my plan after this experience. I just wanted a new phone. I gave a generous two stars because the coverage is good. read more
