I actually rate this company 0. We were lied to from the first day. Fees on top of fees and we were told it all came with the service- not told about the extra fees! We were also not told that Verizon has terrible coverage in Lafayette until later after we spent a month trying to get some reception at our home. We lost calls and could not get any data. They kept telling us to use our wifi. Nice, but I am paying for Verizon data and not getting any and when I wasn't home and walking in Lafayette I could not get any data either. We were told we got $300 each for the phone we turned in, but when we had to switch carriers because of the poor service, Verizon kept the $600 because we cancelled the payment plan and bought the phone out right. But you can not keep the payment plan if you don't have Verizon service. Once when we called about the poor data we were told we should let Verizon put a cell tower in out yard!! Then when I cancelled it all and paid off the phones, I was given the wrong amount to pay and it will be 2 months before I get that $105 back. Also I was told by a Verizon representative on the phone that Verizon has a policy that if they can't give you coverage, they will refund the amount you spent. He actually read it from their policy manual. Yet, that never happened and when I called back I was kindly told that management reviewed it and that was not the case. I was not entitled to any other refund besides my over payment. Never waste your time at this establishment. We switched to T-Mobile and have Fantastic coverage everywhere and unlimited everything and our bill is less than half of the verizon bill. read more

First, no line. I kid you not...I walked in and George greeted me so warmly I was surprised I was in a verizon store! I was leaving the country the next day and had a phone "emergency' - these guys all put their head together and saved me! When I got back, Eli went the extra mile and finished solving the problem - talk about customer service. Melody then helped me surprise my husband with a 5s bday present. The whole time I was in the store we laughed and chatted while doing the boring stuff you have to do when changing phones. Corey was there helping other customers, while they all seemed to be having great experiences right along side me. I recently upgraded to a LG Spectrum from a ten year old cell phone. Abe, the young salesman who helped me was patient, courteous and took his time to explain the various differences. He did not try to up-sell me but helped me figure out the best phone for my needs. He also extended his help anytime I needed it to figure out how to take advantage of all the new features of a smart phone. This place stinks ! The FOUR sales people are either ALL incompetent OR lazy or BOTH. They entered our name WRONG into the phone; they burned a protective cover by putting it on wrong and then didn't do the second one correctly either !!! (hello, we buy these). They could NOT transfer the info from old phone to new - AFTER an HOUR of waiting - when we returned to ask about it - they said "We had a meeting in the back... sorry " ! Seriously ? I didnt even want to give this fraud of a store a one star. My 75 year old mother went in there and had ordered a cell phone cover thru them to be ordered via UPS. It never arrived. So she went into the store two times afterward to follow up and deal with the situation. The men that work there had the nerve to hassle her and blamed her for misspelling her OWN street address. Which she would never do. She thinks the guys name is Justin because she was able to see his name tag. THINKS...is the key word here because this asshole flat out refused to give her his name and told her to leave the store!!! WTF!!! I personally have had many awful experiences there too and warned her before she went in...but she wanted the convenience of the store. I would never ever go back there. I cannot say enough good things about Nabill (Billy) Moalikyar as well as the rest of the lafayette verizon store. He has gone above and beyond what a manager should do. We have been into the store several times. First for our three new phones, he then fixed my screen protector, he did all the leg work to get us refunds on our old phones, and to top it off, one of our phones is not working and he is is going to come in on his day off to deliver the phone that they didn't have in stock while he was there. I would not give Justin, the manager or his staff even one star for service. I went to add phone coverage for a trip abroad. They seemed to have difficulty doing that and it took over 30 minutes. While traveling I was charged a monthly and daily rate so almost double. I returned to the store and once again the computer system was blamed. A credit was issued to my debit card which never showed up. When I returned to ask about the missing credit, I was treated as if the problem were mine and told to talk to the billing staff instead. Total incompetence, smugness and no sense of customer service. My bad for being willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Like a lot of people on here, I found the staff here seem really nice while they scammed me. They jammed an "accessory bundle" that was supposedly included with the phone, but really was just an up-sell. Then they sold me a case that didn't fit the phone they'd sold me (A Wireless even installed it without noticing). When I returned it, they voided the "bundle discount" so the other accessories were really overpriced. Like I say, they were nice about it, but they're still slimy and I'd never do business with them again. read more

My review can begin going back several years when I first bought a flip phone from this group. It had a rebate with the purchase but it was never sent to me. Store managers claimed they tried to get it but never came up with anything, nor a decent answer and finally said it was out of their hands. I gave up on it. When the flip phone lost its battery I went with a newer smart phone. But the store said it could not program the new phone I had to work on their system. I would have to get a different phone, but no problem they had a similar one at the same price with similar features, but I had to buy it thru their payment system (bullsh--t). Rather than waste more time I said OK. Later, at home, I looked at all the contract terms and discovered they had managed to charge an amount 50% higher. Then, after three months use the phone would not hold a charge and then not take a charge. Turns out they had over-programmed the thing and also that the charger was not working. They refused, somewhat rudely, to replace the charger, but would sell me a new one for a ridiculous amount of $36. This is the last I'll have to do with Verizon. They stink in customer service and these centers are all on commission to bilk you out of all they can. read more

While it's always more time-consuming than it seems like it should be, I have to say that I've had great experiences at the Lafayette Verizon store. I have five lines, plus a hot spot, so I'm dealing with my wireless account nearly every month for something or another. After having gone primarily to the Walnut Creek store in the past, I've recently been using the new Lafayette location, and have had great service. LaRonn has been my goto man; he's very personable, professional and knowledgable. I went to the store when we had to replace my daughter's phone. I am technologically challenged, and we started to talk about my own phone. The young man, LaRonn Wilson, spent quite a bit of time with my daughter as we processed her claim, and with me. He was knowledgeable, and very helpful. I wanted to exchange my phone. He gave me advice, and the next day, I had a new phone! Both LaRonn and his manager were totally helpful and encouraging, and they let me think I was also "getting it." The manager was so generous, she even gave me her purple phone case that she no longer used! That also saved me money! I am so happy that they are in Lafayette. read more

In December, 2012, my husband and I took advantage of a "special promotion" for "free" IPhone 4s when we reupped with Verizon for another two years at 4g wireless. Our salesperson, George, couldn't have been nicer. Today, just 6 months later, I went to Apple to have a problem fixed (still under the year warranty) with my camera flash only to discover that we were sold refurbished phones long out of warranty. George NEVER mentioned anything about refurbished phones without warranties or we never would have taken them-free or not. Having read the reviews here, I dread returning to the store to fight this battle...... read more

Wow I didn't think I would see such bad reviews on here after my experience there today. I was helped by Randi, and I don't usually waste my time reviewing businesses unless I truly think they deserve it. She helped me activate my phone after many problems because the "systems were slow" at Verizon today. She was extremely patient and helpful, and did it all without grunting in dissatisfaction about how annoying and tedious the process actually was. The other employees seemed happy to help too. As for the other reviews, I didn't read all of them but expletives is a hoity toity way of saying cusswords...so I think that's a problem right there. And if location bothers you in lafayette....something is extremely wrong. My phone issues were taken care of which is all that I wanted. More reviews call these people crooks, etc., -- you should take this up with Verizon, not just this tiny branch. read more

Do not purchase from this third party dealer. Victra. Fraudulent and deceptive practices on promotions. All bait and switch no substance-nothing in writing only hearsay. Verizon did not know of their so called promo after Mothers Day and asked me to go back and get something solid from the store. I went back over three weeks and still nothing in writing only hearsay. Double talk and even saying they were not allowed to share the promo with me in writing or visually!!!!??? Finally got a beligirant manager with a condescending cheeky attitude on the phone as their regular manager was inept and could not assist over two weeks and more just more fast talk and would not text or email the details of the promo. They did not honor their offer that they made on the Saturday and said come on Monday. For the best "deal" They made the offer in front of my daughter verbally on the Monday-a trade in value $75 for her phone and $250 off the price of a new one and then charged me the total amount of the phone and the so called promo was not recognized by verizon and asked me to follow up with these people and that is all that was on the receipt and the bogus logo "Victra"This is NOT VERIZON. Since that time it has been shift the pea under the three cups and guess where it is? The promo was conveniently renamed today by the so called manager as a "Trade in value" for $250 including the traded in phone. That changed from an after Mothers Day promo! In following up with Verizon central I discovered it was actually even less, and spread out over two years. $199. and over the duration of the pay off for the phone. I learnt a bitter lesson NEVER buy on hearsay and get it all in writing and great detail. Visit this store at your own risk. Buyer beware. read more

Do not go to 4G Wireless unless you want a bad experience. Why do I say that? Because they didn't give me alternative plans to review and choose from, they can't get even simple instructions right, and when they get it wrong they just offer to find out what happened as if I care. I wish I had read the other Yelp entries before I went to them. In fact, rather than just avoid 4G, avoid Verizon unless you want some great examples of sheer incompetence and total disregard for customers. Verizon only manages to be first in the ratings is because AT&T is even worse. I used to regard Verizon-Apple as the dream team but now they're the nightmare team. Apple can't forecast demand so the phones aren't available and even when they eventually do get the phones Verizon isn't interested in providing average or even basic customer service when selling them. Isn't it time for a serious, viable alternative. Vote with your feet! read more

I would give the store zero stars if that was an option. This is not a Verizon store it is an authorized retailer store. Big difference! We signed up with Verizon for the trade-in deal for the new iPhone. It has cost me two months of pure hell trying to deal with these people. They are incompetent. untrained. and have no idea what it means to provide any level of customer service. They do not ever return phone calls. They promise you things that they never deliver. Basically everything they promised never happened. I had to go to the executive level of Verizon to get it all fixed. Once I did that, it was all fixed but I really do not recommend going there. Go to a real Verizon store and get the good service. It is a very incompetent operation! I cannot stress that enough. They are sneaky when they sign you up for a new account. They add things on like the Verizon insurance, without even asking if we want it. We already were getting AppleCare and they knew that. Cannot believe how bad this place is!! We spent two very productive hours with two very professional employees (Sarah and Robert) in the Lafayette store. We were there to transition our iPhones/iPads from AT&T to Verizon, which we accomplished via their excellent service and close personal attention to our questions and concerns. If you are considering Verizon as your carrier, we'd strongly recommend working with an Authorized Verizon Retailer (e.g. Lafayette) versus shopping in one of Verizon's company stores (e.g. Walnut Creek). The level of professionalism, courtesy and service is beyond comparison. read more

I came into the Lafayette location and was greeted by a gentleman named Billy. I noticed he walked around the counter and met me half way which was different then most Verizon locations. It seems verizon has changed the way they do there upgrades now. Billy was very thorough in explaining the difference between the two year contract and the installment plan. He also analyzed my plan let me know that I was on a dated plan which needed to be updated. We explored all of my options and came up with a plan which would be tailored to my needs. He also gave me a Mobile hotspot for a discounted price and with the way my plan was set up it would be built into the bill. So with the new phone and a mobile hot spot my bill was still around 20 dollars less. He transferred all my information from phone to phone and the other employees assisted him in gathering everything for my phone. I forget there names, but it was two gentleman and The manager Jorge made sure everything went smoothly with the upgrade. Billy even packaged my phone with an accessory bundle which was awesome. I was able to get a phone with a heavy duty case, a glass screen protector (which he put on for me), and extra charger as well as a bluetooth headset. I also had a mail in rebate which he helped me fill out and made sure i had everything for the rebate before i left. It was as easy as me mailing the envelope with the contents. It was a very positive experience and I am shocked to see that some people are leaving reviews that are negative. If you ever need help with a cell phone or anything Verizon I would recommend the Lafayette location. Everybody seemed super helpful and I had no complaints. Billy or Nabill which i realized was his real name as it was printed on the receipt is a gentleman and went out of his way to make sure i was taken care of. Today I stopped in this store to discuss my service options for my upcoming trip to Europe. I was very pleased with the customer service I received for many reasons. First of all, I didn't have to wait at all for help. The staff was friendly, quick to respond to my many questions and offer good advice. Since my phone didn't have a "global" capability I was faced with two options, upgrade my phone or rent a phone from the global phone department. After weighing the options, I decided on a new phone. Maurice was a wiz at setting up my new phone and kindly showing me how to use the new features, access my apps, use shortcuts, even helping with my Bluetooth car set up. I have always felt rushed in past experiences while purchasing a new phone, and he saved me lots of time having to figure it out on my own and dreadfully page through the manual. I've been to both the Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill locations but will be happy to skip the lines and the attitude of other stores and visit this new location. read more

His knowledge and skill level made everything a snap. He was very courteous and patient with all my questions and concerns. One of the worst retail experiences I've ever had. I brought my senior father in for a simple upgrade in iPhones. The salesperson proceeded to introduce every other phone in the store. It was clear my father is not super technical. I explained he already had an iPhone and did not want to learn a new system. But no, let's keep talking other phones. Then another customer seems to have a problem with the other sales person at which point the guy says to his friend "what's her problem" while he's supposed to be helping us. Then back to every other phone besides the one I told him we wanted to buy. "Why do you like Apple? Why not try a new phone?" Because my Dad is 83, is that not obvious? I decide it's time to go and tell the guy we are leaving, at which point he says nothing and stares at me like he wants to kick my ass. One of the worst sales people I've run across in any industry. To drive the point home, we went right to Walnut Creek, who listened and attended to our needs and guess what? They sold a $700 iPhone in just a few minutes. Went in to the newish Verizon store in Lafayette and got absolutely terrific customer service from Ciera. I had a question about filing a claim on a damaged phone, and Ciera walked me through the process step-by-step. I needed to leave to do this work at home and Ciera took the time to write me out some quick notes so I could efficiently navigate through the Verizon help=-line prompts. She was absolutely knowledgeable in everything "phone" and her help enabled me to save a lot of time and get the answers I needed with a minimum of waiting in phone tree misery. I came in to the store to switch two lines from ATT to Verizon. The salesperson said that it would be over $400 up front in fees. Having researched the cost to switch, I knew that all I would need to pay is $112 in sales tax online. Apparently, this Verizon "independent retailer" gets away with charging these exorbitant setup fees. On a quick call to the Verizon corporate store in Walnut Creek, I was quoted the same $112, and will be buying my phones there. Total ripoff and I feel terrible for the customers who probably have no idea they are being overcharged! read more

We were not really interested in upgrading our IPhone just yet, but the hype of the iPhone 7 was just too much to ignore. We went to the Lafayette Verizon to check it out. Turns out that on that weekend, the Verizon store was offering a package deal; the upgrade plus a free HD Tablet. Justin was the sales/service rep helping us and he was most helpful in getting all of the devices set up and running properly. He took the time to walk us through on the new phone and tablet features and helped synch up photos and contacts from the old phone to the new. I purchased phones from other retailers and wireless phone service providers, but none was more helpful than Justin. read more
