This is probably the worst internet service company I've had to deal with. I live in New York City…read morefyi. For starters, my bill began at around $60 per month, and over time it increased to about $130. Throughout that time, there was very little communication about available upgrades or options that could have benefited me. Instead, it felt like the priority was simply collecting more money rather than making sure customers understood what they were paying for. I spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with a representative in Texas trying to discontinue my service. What should have been a straightforward request turned into an unnecessary back-and-forth. I explained that my decision wasn't based on one issue alone. It was the combination of poor customer service, unreliable internet, and outdated equipment that requires cords running throughout the house. I also explained that no one had informed me about newer equipment or upgrade options. I genuinely tried to provide constructive feedback that the company could use to improve the customer experience. Instead of listening, the representative continued arguing with me about my decision to cancel. It felt as though the goal wasn't to understand my concerns but to convince me to stay, regardless of what I was saying. That experience alone reinforced my decision to leave. What stood out most was that after nearly 20 minutes of arguing, the representative finally told me my service had already been discontinued. That should have been communicated immediately, not at the end of a prolonged conversation. It only reinforced the point I had been making throughout the call: there was a lack of transparency. Transparency matters. Clear communication matters. Respecting your customers' time and money matters. Another thing I found disappointing was hearing negative comments about a competitor during the conversation. I don't believe criticizing another company is a reflection of integrity or strong business values. I would much rather see a company focus on improving its own service than trying to discredit someone else's. Instead of being proactive and addressing issues before they became problems, Spectrum waited until I was ready to leave before offering solutions. By then, it was too late. Integrity, transparency, and genuine customer service are far more valuable to me than last-minute retention efforts. For those reasons, I will no longer be using Spectrum. I don't believe the company has been transparent with me, and I left the interaction feeling that protecting the company was a higher priority than serving the customer.

Spectrum Phone Call is on my calendar every May. It was in 2023 they turned off my Time Warner…read morecable box and said I had to switch to a Spectrum package. That first year it was $165 a month then the next year $185 and in May 2025 it was going up to $245 a month for cable and internet. It's a bunch of channels and apps I don't use and high speed internet like I'm gaming. The first representative made my head spin. After 26 minutes I said leave it as is for now. I needed to think. Then I remembered I was just going to cancel my cable if they wouldn't give me basic. So I called back to cancel and a much nicer service representative searched for a plan with better promotions and less bells and whistles. Another 34 minutes on the phone. I'm exhausted. Bottom line is for now I'm going to pay $146 a month for cable and internet. When I return the cable box and stream to my television I'll save another $15 and tax. I'm sure not forgetting that if I keep seeing my bill increase I'm going into the store and cancel the cable. They won't want me going off in the store when they get on my last nerve! I still think I'd be happier with Verizon. At least I would only get one bill. I definitely can't recommend Spectrum!

So far it's great, and it appears that the last thing Starry wants to do is start disappointing new…read morecustomers, or not maintain the quality of service it provides over time. Let's face it; that's a death sentence in this times of Yelp and other review websites. I've seen people's complaints and all I can say is that if you had it better with Spectrum in terms of speed and reliability, then you and I must have had different Spectrums. I've only had it a few days, but the set up was done quickly, courteously and professionally, and getting it to my devices could not have been more user friendly. When I had to move around the wires for the modem and router later that night, and lost the connection, I got customer service in minutes on the phone and she got me back to speed in no time, and even sent me an email giving me quick tips on how to get back online if need be in the future. And let's face it again; the price is great too. So unless you really need something extremely reliable for work reasons, and you actually have something more reliable, and are willing to pay the bigger bucks for it, give Starry a free trial.

I called starry to speak to someone. Long story short I asked to speak to someone who could help me and explain what's going on and he said No!! I said excuse me and he said you can talk to me. And basically proceeded to tell me I was out of luck. I asked his name he said TROY LOPEZ !!! What's the point of call customer service and they don't know how to service customers. they Definitely need to go back to training and leave if they don't like they job.
